Chapter 30 - Eternal torment

When Elina was running with all her strength in the direction her father had told her, she stopped for a moment and looked back, not knowing why she felt that she would never meet her father again from now on.

But after this feeling took hold of her, she quickly shook her head to drive those thoughts away and continued on her path while carrying the box.

However, tears slipped from her eyes with every step she took, and her vision became blurry because of the pouring tears. She could not see where she was stepping, so she fell on the ice beneath her.

When she fell, she did not get up, but remained on the ground, continuing to cry. The cold weather paralyzed her movement, and she could not move any further.

When Elina looked around, with tears in her eyes, hunger gnawing at her stomach, and cold invading her body, she cried bitterly and screamed, saying:

"I want my father… I am hungry and I feel cold."

As she said that, she scratched the ice with her fingers from the intensity of the sadness and loneliness she felt.

While she was screaming, she wished her father would answer her or that she would hear his voice, but she heard nothing. Her strength failed her, and she knew that her last hope had been lost.

She surrendered to the harsh cold and stopped moving, sitting while looking at the sky thick with clouds, saying:

"Father, where are you?"

As she thought about what had happened to her father and grandfather, she found her eyes continuing to close, and she felt that she wanted to sleep. Sleep was calling her to escape the loneliness she felt without her father.

As she was giving in to sleep, she looked at the box beside her and remembered her desire to know what was inside it.

When she remembered that, she woke up slightly from her drowsiness, used her last strength to stand up with difficulty, looked at the box and grabbed it, and noticed that the box had no lock.

She opened it with difficulty, as its edges were frozen. When she succeeded in opening it, she felt happy and looked at what was inside.

But after that, she was shocked by what she saw, immediately dropped the box, and stepped back in terror, saying:

"What is this?"

Elina continued to look from afar at what was inside the box, afraid and astonished by what she was seeing. She did not know what this thing was that was beating strongly.

But she gathered her courage and went toward it again, saying in her mind:

What is this thing? And why did my father say it was dangerous?

Curiosity was eating her from the inside. She came closer and closer, looked at it up close, and said:

"What is this ugly thing?"

As she said that, she moved her hand and touched it quickly. When she found that she was fine, she continued touching it, surprised by the strange sensation she felt every time she touched it.

Every time she touched it, she felt that she wanted to eat it, but as soon as she thought of that and looked at the strange thing, she rejected the thought in disgust.

But before she pulled her hand away from the thing, she felt the severe pain in her stomach and the hunger devouring her from the inside.

She looked at it again and thought for a moment that if she ate some of it, nothing would happen.

She grabbed the thing with both hands, took a bite of it, and tasted it. As soon as it entered her mouth, it melted inside, and she felt a wonderful sensation she had never experienced before.

She continued eating the strange thing without noticing that it was beating or the blood filling her mouth.

As if a strange power affected her mind, making her continue eating and forget the horrific scene she was committing, making it seem normal.

When she took the last bite of the strange thing and finished it, she suddenly stopped and screamed at the top of her voice in pain. She continued tearing her clothes and scratching her chest, as if she wanted to remove the strange thing inside her.

She kept screaming and scratching her chest until blood came out, saying in a painful voice with tears in her eyes:

"What is happening? I want my father."

Elina continued crying, calling for her father, and screaming, wishing that the pain and the strange feeling would go away.

But it continued to increase until it paralyzed her entire body. She stopped moving, but her eyes did not close; she was staring at the sky with tears in her eyes.

She could not move a single finger of her body except her eyes.

This state continued until snow fell from the sky and covered her.

When Elina felt her body being buried in the snow, while she was watching and unable to do anything, the pain did not go away but kept increasing. The tears she was crying stopped falling because they froze before they could fall.

This torment continued, which she could not escape from. Snow covered her entire body, and she could not see anything; everything around her was covered in snow.

While Elina was in the snow, not knowing what to do and unable to speak or move, she thought that she had already died and was now being tortured in hell because she had eaten the strange thing.

Fear took hold of her, and the pain in her body made her wish that this torment would not be eternal. She prayed with all her heart that someone would come to save her, and she would do anything for him, even become his servant.

Elina's suffering continued for a long time. She did not know whether her prayer and wish would come true or not, but what was certain was that she changed after this long pain and torture, far away on the demonic continent.

When Elina completely ate the dark heart, a dangerous evil sensed this and awakened after a long sleep, saying:

"Has someone made a dark heart again?"

The owner of the voice thought for a moment, then returned to sleep. But before sleeping, he commanded with a voice heard throughout the demonic continent:

"Increase your attacks on the continent of Mira, and bring me whoever has the dark heart."
