Chapter 33 - The Prophecy

The leader of the giants did not know that his fleeting glance had made his old enemy take his feeling seriously and become certain that there truly was an enemy hiding in the darkness.

But even if he had known that, it would not have mattered, for the giants cannot launch surprise attacks; their movement alone can reveal their locations. They are only skilled at hiding within nature in the form of mountains or plateaus, but when they move, they create earthquakes due to their enormous size.

Therefore, when the giants began forging their weapons from the forces of nature, their king decided that they should not go far from the ocean floor, because if they went to the surface, the dragons, the rulers, and the other races of the two continents would sense them. Thus, he ordered them to forge their weapons at the bottom of the sea.

It is true that this would take longer, because there are giants made of magma who must be in a volcanic area to forge their weapons, so they must first create a volcano and then forge their weapons from it, all at the bottom of the sea. There are also giants made of ice, and others of stone, and all of this would take a long time.

But their leader did not care about time, for they are immortal as long as they do not die in battle, and they will remain immortal forever. Therefore, he did not care about time and allowed them to forge their weapons calmly, for most of the weapons they once used were destroyed thousands of years ago in their wars against the dragons.

Far away on the demonic continent, there was a dark land where there was no roaring of demonic beasts nor the clamor of demons. This was strange in the demonic continent, because everywhere in it you hear the noise of demons or the roaring of their demonic beasts.

But that land was inhabited by one of the Nine Demon Rulers: the Demonic Saint.

The Demonic Saint sat alone, unmoving, clasping his hands together and praying. If one were to exclude his terrifying appearance and the frightening place, his scene would have been beautiful, like a believer praying to a god. But his appearance and his incomprehensible words made the scene terrifying.

While the Demonic Saint was praying to his god and murmuring his spells, a strange vision came to him of a war about to occur, a war the like of which he had never seen before. People the size of mountains fighting dragons flying in the sky, dangerous lightning flashing on the horizon, demons everywhere spreading chaos, and angels falling from the sky.

None of this caught his attention as much as a strangely shaped crow that he saw from afar, smiling. When the saint wanted to see who that crow was, or what it was pointing to in the vision, everything around him became blurry, and suddenly he exited the vision.

When the Demonic Saint emerged from the vision, he remained seated for a while, recalling what he had seen and what that prophecy indicated. After a little thought, he felt that the prophecy was warning him of a war approaching on the horizon.

And that the Demon Queen wanted him to be cautious and warn the other demons. When he thought about it, he knew within himself that this was indeed the interpretation of the vision. But what occupied his thoughts and he could not understand was that crow that was smiling in the vision, and what its relation was to the coming war.

The saint thought for a while, and when he found no answer, he set the matter aside to think about it at another time, and went to the place where the Demon King was being treated to inform him of the prophecy and the warning he had seen, so that their king would be cautious and inform the rest of the Demon Rulers to be wary, for a massive war was looming on the horizon. It is true that he did not know when the war would come, but that did not prevent them from being cautious.

Far from the demonic continent, on the continent of Mira, in the land of the dragons, in the lair of the Dragon King's son, the Dragon King's son was angry at his father's decision not to participate in the war that was arising, even though it was a small war. The continent of Mira was the land of the dragons, so how could his father allow those insignificant demons to infiltrate it?

The Dragon King's son was a reckless young man, and when he saw that his father did not want to intervene in that war, and even forbade the adult dragons from leaving their lairs, he decided to go himself to teach those demons a lesson and prove to his father and the clans that he was not afraid of a few demons, and that he would not allow a race like them to stain their land.

The Dragon King's son wanted to break his father's orders and run away from home to carry out his plan, but when he merely tried to distance himself slightly from the land of the dragons, he felt his father's gaze upon him and heard his father's angry voice in his ear saying:

"Return immediately."

When the son heard his father's angry voice, he became afraid and terrified of being discovered by his father, and of his manner of speech that he had never heard before, and its danger. So he immediately returned to the land of the dragons and went to his father's lair.

When he entered the lair, he saw his father looking at him with his huge eyes in a terrifying way, and heard him say:

"Did you break my orders, my son?"

The son did not know what to say, for his father's voice, his manner of speaking, and the aura surrounding him terrified him, and because of it he could not speak or defend himself.

When the Dragon King saw his son in that state and his great fear, he sighed and dispersed his dense aura, and said to him in a fatherly tone:

"Do not do that again. I know that you are angry about those demons, but there is something more important than them at the moment."

His son looked at him in surprise when he felt the aura disperse, and said:

"And what is more important than that, Father?"

The Dragon King looked at him for a moment and said in a dangerous tone carrying a warning:

"It is war, my son. I feel that it is looming on the horizon, and our enemies are in the shadows. Any mistake from us will have dangerous consequences, so we must be cautious in every step we take from today onward. Do you understand?"

When the son saw his father's dangerous tone and heard his words, he knew that the matter was serious and felt his mistake, so he said:

"Alright, Father, I will not do that again. But who are these enemies?"

The Dragon King did not answer his son's question, but looked toward the place from which he had sensed that gaze and said calmly:

"They are dangerous enemies, my son. I do not yet know who they are, but what is certain is that they are powerful."
