Just as the first Ray of light were lighting up the sky bystanders were watching would see an awe-inspiring spectacle of hundreds of row of legionnaires moving in unison almost mechanical creating a beautiful image of discipline and organisation where displayed for everyone to see giving pride and confidence to the people and soldiers and at same time will shock their enemies to the core.
Right behind them were the musketeers wearing light armour but a colourful one as Damien insisted that the uniform 🥋 must be unified and catching and that why all the army uniforms of the legionnaires is red ,the musketeers is dark blue close black,the archers 🏹 light green to blend well in the first and finaly cavalry must be shining silver seen from miles away as for level 1 knight they can chose their colore and their roder color and Insignia when they are build but that for later.
Right behind was the artillery who where mounted on special carriage after them where logistics baggage as this was their first test and they didn't want any surprises in the form of supply problems.
Last the archers were bring in the rear same in the formation and it will be same in the battlefield.
What this people didn't know that before them a vanguard consistent of a hundred rider and led by a knight and his squire as for who is this knight is simple since their job is reconnaissance it's Bruce who will be knowen as the dark devil 👿 in the future.
So after walking on the road for an hour or a little more the army was ordered into a halt be ready as in front of them the could dust as various cloud in the sky a tense air could be felt in the whole army 🪖.
Few minutes later after the dust settled it was the reconnaissance unit coming back apparently the goblins where just a fifteen minutes of marching time behind them.
Damien couldn't believe himself it's seems like lady luck is smiling upon him today while the was just a small ridge which will just give the musketeers enough hight to shoot freely above the legionnaires without causing in friendly fire.
As for the artillery could be positioned on a nearby hill to the left of the formation as for the they will be reorganized to start a wide manoeuvre to the right of the formation in order to stay hidden from the goblins as they are know for their heightened sense of smells so a wide flanking attack was necessary for it to succeed.
So as the legionnaires were setting up their formation and taking up positions following the orders of their officers.
A wide tent was setup behind were a military metting was being held right now.
Inside the tent a table was set on it where different toys like figurines representing every unit on the battlefield one with swords and shield for legionnaires ⚔️ 🛡️,behind one holding a small tube for musketeers and to it's left another one with a bigger tube representing artillery,a reserve unite that was holding a bow 🏹 and a at the far left a figurine of a horse 🐎 facing was multiple monsters looking units but just right at the back stop a bigger figurine 💀 representing the leader.
The first to talk is Bruce:' from what a have seen it's your typical goblin horde a bunch of militia level goblins with low morale supplemented with archer who are driven by a dozen of high goblins wearing good gear rivaling the previous one used be the guard at the castle but inferior to the one wearied by the legionnaires'.
He stopped to see if someone will say something seeing them waiting for him to continue he said:'in the back is the leadership of three tribes consisting of three leaders one an old shaman,a ranger or hunter type who are both at low or maybe middle level 1 life form as for the third is a warrior at high level 1 life form wearing a gear equal from the looks of it to the one we are wearing '.
First to talk is Clark:' we are lucky that they chose to battle here far away from the forest as it will be easier to eliminate since they can't hide from us or is the forest to hinder our cavalry so we proceed as we have already planned '.
Damien all this time didn't say anything until the end he stood and said :' I will go to take care of those leaders and make sure that when the cavalry hit in the rear to stop the cannons from firing to avoid friendly fire'.
Clark anwsered:' it's already drilled in th artillery team to stop firing of they fear hitting a friend '.
After that Damien left to the back while no-one was watching he vanished in tin air or more precisely in the shadows as he was using them to travel fast and undedicated when he was close to the goblins 👺 leadership place he got out and hide until the battle start to use the confusion to kill the high goblin with all it's might and subjugate the others as a shaman can make a good helps for his experiment 🧪 🥼 and the ranger can be the leader of a team tasked with patroling the forest to detect incoming enemies but both will be turned to dampir at first to make their loyalty unwavering and later if he is satisfied with them he will make the first vampire 🦇 👺 goblin ever hhhhh.
Returning to the battle just as they finished sitting up their formation the legionnaires could see a swarm like or a tide of goblins coming for them just as fear wanted to get hold of them their discipline and fraternity kicked in and they formed a shield wall🛡️ 🧱
But it was just two man deep.
But just as the swarm was 1000 metres away from the frontline a thunderous roar was heard a few seconds later RAWS of goblins were wiped out while others crying 😭 in pain as they lost a limb or were mangled.
Not knowing what happened some of them wanted to stop but at a mere thought of it a high goblin finished them and said' march to the enemy or die you lowlife ' as even he didn't know what happens but if they retreat now the leader of the horde will have them for dinner 🍽️.
A minute later the roar was heard again but this time they saw a flash on a hill at same time and like before eighty to hundred were killed.
Then it happened again same result but after this more orders were given by the high goblins they ordered the to spread and to sprint toward the enemy as fast as possible.
While this way they may lower casualties they forget one thing or more precisely they just ignored it by the time they crashed with humans their stamina will be spent after all moste goblin are just between ninety centimetres to one hundred thirty centimeters.
So in the next roar of the artillery less goblins died nearly half less than the first time but to Clark it was not a problem from what the goblins were doing by the time they reach the legionnaires it will not be battle it will be a slaughter '.
But he didn't know the high goblin knew this and they were counting on the shaman magic of berserk or rage to push the goblin beyond their limits but they will have the surprise of their life 🧬.
Returning to Damien just as the first roar of artillery was heard the leaders of the horde rushed from their makeshift tent ⛺ watching in horror what's happening just as the leader wanted to order something he wanted to send to message to the charging goblin a bad premonition got hold of him but it was to late.
Damien used his most powerful spell blood arrow to the extreme even over charging it and it hit it right in the head 🗣️ making despear .
Two others goblins took defensive positions the archers took aim from where th speed came then hiding behind a tree as for the shaman he casted on himself flesh of rock upping his defence but then they a sight to be hold.
A bunch of squeleton warrior showed up and four wild bull giving them a bad feeling probably were at middle level 1 life form.
Then they heard :' I would like to present myself my name is baron Damien ruler of the barrony of tascony may I ask dear friend what are doing in my land and with my enemy '.
Hearing this the two goblins were surprised but they understood that this baron at least for the time being has no intention of killing them it's not like he can't two even they push themselves at best they could destroy the warrior squeleton and one or two of wild bulls but then what it's death and for what they never liked this garuk he was tyrannical,mistreated them and abused his power to suppress them.
So it was only one thing to do to dump everything on them and see what this human lord want.
First to speak Larve the shaman:' my lord my name is large and next to me is gurky we where both cooercerd by him to join him in this raid we had no intention to raid your land my lord'.
Hearing this a smile appeared on Damien face they seem smart enough to kno when they are beaten so he said:' so nonetheless you invaded my land you have to pay for it either by blood or by bending the knee'.
Looking at eachother the goblins not wanting to die they chose to die then they said in unison:'we Great lord Damien ruler of Tuscany '.
While they were kneeling Damien moved fast and blood embrace on them or more pricesely blood slave to make dampire they desoriented for a moment before knowing what happened.
They both knew now they are slaves this human lord no he isn't human he is something else dark 🕶️ but they were happy first this lord is on the dark side so are they and most importantly first time they felt that the bottleneck that was holding for a long time was loosesning .
They said :'we are happy to do your bedding my lord'.
Then he raised the dead goblins as his zombie warrior and order gurky and larve to rally What's left of the goblins and to make camp near the forest and wait he orders .
As he shifted his attention to the battlefield all he could see is the goblin exhausted expect for the high goblins who were giving some challenges to the legionnaires they were like taking a walk in the park and at same time stabing goblins who couldn't understand what happened how some of their officers they just after a weaker sound than the rorlar of earlier and we're being shoot down by the musketeers the rest were like lamb for slaughter it's seem his tactics is working he just need enough time and enough manpower .
As for the flanking cavalry by the time they showed up the goblins were either dead or surrendering which left flashed back and they cursed internally the goblins for not just being able to stand just for thirty minutes this robbing them of their moment to shine and earn some glory.
And like that he got his first 🥇 victory in this world.
