They had finally made it to their final stop at least as far as the train will take them. Everyone grabbed their luggage and followed Irina out since she was the designated leader.
Helena won't lie every time she saw Irina leading them. She remembered that this was just supposed to be a mission with her and Ryan. She stayed quiet walking beside Ryan until they made it to their next stop.
"The teleporter is a day away from the town by foot, and since the carriage is here, take mana I suggest we conserve our mana to teleport." everyone nodded and continued following behind Irina.
It was about midday and Helena wondered if it would be better for them to stop and continue tomorrow since the teleporter was a day away.
No one seemed to have her concern so she's stayed quiet. Just like Irina said the next day they were at the teleporter. It had a unique symbol and it was carved into the tree.
Irina went to put her hand on the teleporter when Helena woke up, offering to do it instead. "I can do it. It would be best for you to conserve."
Irina wanted to refute, but Helena already placed her hand on the symbol, teleporting them away in a flash of bright light. They had made it.
The village seemed slightly desolate, but bright at the same time? It was weird. The buildings seemed old, almost dilapidated, but the villagers were happy. The weirdest thing was the statue in the middle of town, it seemed as if it was randomly replaced and didn't match the overall aesthetics of the town. If it weren't for the fact the buildings looked like they were about to collapse, it would've seemed like a nice place to visit.
"Do people actually live in these building buildings?" Elena asked taking the words to write out of Helena's mouth. "Shhh, that is not nice to say," Irina shhhed
Callum yawned , seeming uninterested in everything that was happening and Andre seemed just as disinterested. Helena really was trying to figure out what was the point of all these people on the mission. Irina was one thing, but why did she drag Callum along?
Helena said again as they followed Irina to the requesters house. "How does she know where he live?" Helena whispered to Elena.
"Most missions come with a GPS like system that tells you the meeting point once you're close enough. So really we don't actually know if we're heading to his house or just a building to meet him." Elena explained.
Helena not taking it all in. She still has a lot to learn about this whole mission system. "Does everywhere I do it like this or is it just a Haven guild?" She asked.
"Most places do like this since missions are standardized. The only thing that will vary from guild to guild is internal practices." Elena continue to explain more practices to Helena as they made their way to the meeting point.
The meeting point was another dilapidated looking building, but the inside was a lot nicer than the outside. Helena wondered if this was how all the buildings were.
The requester was a short, bald old man who said he was the town Mayor. She was honestly surprised he referred to this place as a town, it seemed like a village if anything.
"Ah so you guys are the ones that accepted the mission. This is great, for the past couple of months residence has have been going missing. At first I thought they were just getting lost and wondering off, but the disappearances became more frequent and now everyone's getting scared. I'm really worried for my towns residence and I was wondering if you could get to the bottom of it. Either find the people that have been going missing or whatever it is causing it."
The mission was pretty straightforward and they left after getting everything they needed. Irina suggested they split up into groups, some to check out if there's any clues on the disappearances and others to speak with the family members.
Irina, Callum and Helena were tasked with speaking to the residence and Ryan, Andre, Renée and Elena were task with checking for clues and along with the towns edge for abnormalities.
