The return back home was way quicker than the journey to the village. It had taken three days for Helena to wake up and another day for her to fully recover. Ryan had refused to leave without Helena being recovered and that's such a demanded, they all stay behind much to Andres dismay.
After Helena made her recovery, the villagers insisted on throwing a party. The once dilapidated looking village no looked to vibrant, and the buildings themselves were different. "What happened?" she whispered to Ryan, looking around the no change the village.
Ryan shrugged "It looked like this in the morning after we returned even the villagers are confused, but they're taking it as a divine intervention. Helena nodded and didn't question it any further enjoying the celebration. It wasn't until the following day that they left. Helena had insisted on teleporting them back into town, causing them to land near the guild.
Andrea and Elena looked at her, very surprised. It took a lot of mana to teleport short distance, much less that journey, not to mention the fact she was still recovering. They had agreed to head home for the day while Irina would provide the mission summary.
"Are you going to follow me home?" Helena asked staring at Ryan who was walking beside her. "I honestly thought about staying at your place, but I don't have any clothes there. So I'm gonna walk you home and then I'm gonna go home and grab some clothes and come back." he replied with a shrug. Helena stared at him quizzically.
"But why are you coming back?" she asked, teasingly. "Why not?" he asked poking her cheek. "I don't know? Maybe because it's my place." she replied in a sing, sing song voice.
Somehow, Ryan is only just now noticing that her hair didn't change back nor did her eyes. He wondered if she knew.
He came back later than he would've liked once he got home he realize the scent of the village was stuck on him. He didn't like it, despite the fact that the village didn't look as old and dilapidated as when they first got there it's still vaguely had the scent of rot. He spent way longer than he would've liked in the shower, scrubbing the scent off him.
He did remember to pack a large duffel bag, even larger than what they had brought for the mission, full of his clothes. He parked some casual wear formal wear, and something to sleep in, which was just more boxers. He knew Helena would probably slightly flip over the fact that he was bringing clothes at her place, but he knew she liked it.
When he got back to her place, the door was closed, but her window was not so he scaled her wall, showing his bag through the window before coming in himself.
She was sleeping comfortably on her bed and looked at absolute peace. He decided against waking her changing into something to sleep in and then laying down beside her.
The next morning, Helena woke up to a warmth she had unfortunately gotten used to, she didn't need to ask who was there she knew that he was Ryan. HeLena sighed feeling somewhat disappointed in herself by getting comfortable with him that quickly she didn't know what it was. It was almost instinct.
She looked at the clock on her side table and saw that it was still after three in the morning. She decided it was still too early and went back to bed, laying her head on his chest as her eyes closed.
Ryan was the first to get up at a reasonable time, the first thing he did was use the bathroom before heading down to make breakfast. He wanted it to be done before she woke up.
Helena woke up to the smell of food Ryan walked in bringing a tray which consisted of two plates and two glasses of purple liquid. Helena set up excited. "Is-is that grape juice?" she was an excited because it was grape juice. She was excited because she knew he made it himself so it was bound to be delicious.
"One for you and one for me?" he replied, placing her grape juice on the side table and going to place her breakfast in her lap. "I should freshen up first." she said, holding out her hand to stop him, but he continued to put the plate on her lap. "Does it really matter?" he asked, taking a bite of his eggs."
"Didn't you freshen up before cooking?" she asked grumpily taking a bite of her bacon with a pout. He booped her and the nose.
"That's because I'm the one handling the food."
Helena grumbled but ate her food content.
After breakfast, they debated what to do as neither of them wanted to go to the guild as yet. "We could go to the waterfall." Helena suddenly feeling shy. Ryan noted not really caring what they did for the day just wanting to spend it with her. "I'll make us lunch. You can talk some blanket so we can go into the cave." Ryan said getting up from his position on the bed.
Helena nodded immediately went over to her closet to pick something. After breakfast, she had immediately rushed to freshen up before returning to bed. By the time she got out of the bathroom Ryan had already cleaned the dishes and was laying in bed, putting the spot next to him. She had her rolled her eyes but got in it, nevertheless, thinking about what to do before they landed at the waterfall.
They walked side-by-side to the waterfall picking fruits as they went along, Ryan had also picked a couple flowers and placed them in Helena's hair. Helena blushed when it happened but didn't refuse his gesture. How could she? She would be lying if she said didn't start liking him.
It was about midday by the time they arrived, and the water wasn't cold. It was warm in the way that let you know that his sun had been hitting it for a while. "This feels amazing." Helena smiled, sinking into the water. Ryan nodded, sharing her sentiment.
They swam for about two hours before heading into the camp for a nap. Helena used magic to cover the bag she brought along as they went under the waterfall. She pulled out two fluffy blankets, laying one on, blanket that was already there and placing the other on top of her bag until they were ready for it.
Ryan stared at Helena and could tell she was starting to fall asleep. "Eat first." he mumbled going through her bag for the lunch they packed. Helena hummed but got on the blanket nevertheless, making herself comfortable. By the time Ryan's got the lunch out, she was already fast asleep under the blanket that he moved from on top of her bag.
He sighed but decided not to wake her, he was still worried about her. They only got back yesterday and he honestly wasn't sure if she was fully healed. They do have a guild healer, but she was a regular member like the rest of them, so she also went on missions and it was very hard to catch her, but when she gets back, he was going to have her do a full scan of Helena to make sure everything is OK.
