Helena awoke to Ryan's hand around her waist and gave a tired sigh. "Why are you sighing?" He yawned pulling her closer. "I officially gave up on the concept of you knowing personal space."
"You said we could share the bed." He replied nonchalantly. "It's a king sized bed. It's large enough to share with space." Helena spun around and explain exasperated. "Go make me breakfast." She demanded getting up and heading to the bathroom. Ryan smirked but got up nevertheless and headed to the kitchen.
The morning was relatively slow. After breakfast they decided on watching some tv before heading to the guild. Helena spent the morning convincing Ryan, who didn't need convincing, that they should go on a mission together. Ryan quick to agree but only after finishing the show they were watching.
As Ryan pushed opened the guild doors the noise hit Helena full force as she tried maneuvering her way to the bar alone. Ryan was lost in the crowd and the guild somehow seems even more busy than the last two times she was here. "Is something going on?" She asked Felicia, who handed her signature Vanilla-cinnamon milkshake.
"Kinda? A high ranking team of ours just returned from a SS class mission so now everyone's asking them about it." She explained causing Helena to nod in understanding. "By the way, where can I pick missions from?" She asked trying to scan the guild for a mission board but it was really hard to see with the crowd.
"Looking for something specific?" Fel asked and Helena pushed down the itch of irritation she felt. "Not sure as yet, where can I find the missions?" She repeated before Fel walked off.
"Oh, sorry,upstairs, outside master's office." She replied walking off towards another guild mate.
Ryan had given her full free range to pick whatever mission she felt like. Helena drank the rest of her drink and squeezed through the crowd, making her way upstairs. The board wasn't hard to find as it was right where Fel described causing her to glance through the available missions.
Most spoke about either monsters or herb gathering but Helena found one that caught her eye. 'Need help finding missing villagers.' Helena pulled down the paper carefully making sure not to damage it before looking into the crowd below with a sigh.
"Why are you sighing." Ryan's voice next to her ear almost cause Helena to jump downstairs. "Don't do that."she blushed holding her ear. That scared her. "Uh huh. Did ya find us a mission?"he asked peeking over her shoulder.
"Yup, find some missing people." She smiled showing him the paper. He took it from her reading the details before nodding. "Seems good, I'm going to get master stamp it." Before Helena could ask why he was already gone. She waited by the door until he came out. "Why does master need to stamp it?"
"It logs it, in case we go missing or another guild wants to take it. Not all missions need to be stamped but we need to out of town for this one." Helena nodded in understanding as they descended the stairs. Irina grabbed the paper out Ryan's hand before he could protest.
"A mission? Excellent, I was starting to feel lethargic. Callum and I will meet you at the station tomorrow at 12." She announced handing Ryan back the paper and walking away.
"What just happened?" Helena asked confused. "Irina being Irina." he sighed, once again disappearing into the crowd. Helena decided then and there that questing Haven guild's members was not good for her mental health and made her way over to the library.
In the library she found Elena sitting and readying. Helena sat across from her tapping the table as to not frighten her. Elena looked up and greeted her with a smile. "Hey stranger, I thought Andre scared you off." It was meant to be a joke but sounded somewhat self mocking.
"Nope, I had to decorate my apartment." She replied with a smile. "What are you reading?" Helena asked peeking over the onto the pages. Elena closed the book showing her the over that had the tittle a love that never withers. "It's about a girl who's married off in place of her sister to an alleged cripple, because no one's seen him since the accident. But he's like really sweet and she's really scared cause her family abused her." She explained eyes bright with joy.
Helena listened intently as Elena went in depth speaking about the parts she read and talking about what she thinks is going to happen next. "I'd read it but I really like how you talk about the book. How about this you keep telling me about it and I'll read it after you're done then we can debrief." Elena nodded enthusiastically shaking on the promise as they both started ranting about different books they've read.
Ryan walked in some time later as he was looking for Helena and saw them both chatting animatedly. "Helena we should probably go now so we can start packing early tomorrow." He reminded her.
"Are you going somewhere." Elena asked slightly dejected, she wanted to continue the conversations tomorrow. "I'm going on my first mission tomorrow." Elena immediately perked up at this. "Can I come with? The quicker it's done we can get back."
"Sure I don't see why not." Helena immediately agreed. "Oh Ryan, Irina and Callum are also coming." She added. "Not a problem, then again, do you mine and Andre and Rene join? Andre probably won't let me out of his sight and leaving Rene would be weird cause we're a trio." Elena ranted completely missing the darkening look on Ryan's face.
"Sure." Helena repeated not seeing the issue. "We'll see you tomorrow." Ryan grumbled with a clenched jaw pulling Helena outside.
"What's wrong?" She asked immediately noticing his mood. Ryan sighed but didn't respond. They walked together until it was time for them to part. "I'll head home for tonight to get stuff for tomorrow and then I'll come early to help you pack."
"I can pack alone." She pouted turning to continue to her apartment but Ryan grabbed her hand pulling her back and placing a kiss in her forehead. "Bye." He smirked before disappearing into the forest leaving Helena behind, red in the face.
