Ryan genuinely doesn't remember how they got home. Not yet at least, he knew the memories would be back in a couple of hours. He stared down at Helena sleeping on his chest and gently moving her off him so he can shower and start on breakfast. "She'll probably be mad if we put off fixing up her place again." He sighed heading into the bathroom.
By the time Helena woke up, Ryan was walking in with breakfast. "Didn't take ya for a foodie." He teased handing her a plate. "I'm not." She blushed, holding down her head. "Should I be eating in your bed?" She asked slightly concerned. "Wouldn't have brought it in if it was a problem." He smiled sitting beside her.
"I also got a tv in here."
The two spent the morning eating, getting to know each other and chatting about random things. In the afternoon they finally left heading towards town, "Good thing we left out, we'd probly still be talking and the stores are open and we gotta pick, choose and refuse items." Ryan laughed with his hands behind his head.
Helena laughed bouncing with excitement at the thought of decorating her home. A place she can finally call her's, for now anyways. "Any stores you recommend?" She asked peeking up at him as they enter town.
"We can just check everywhere, how much you got to spend?" He asked grabbing one of her hand pulling her the way of a carriage that almost hit her. "Watch it, will ya!" He yelled at the carriage that just continued driving. He moved Helena onto the inside of the sideways and didn't let go.
Helena stared at him red face before finally answering. "I got a couple neiro to spare, I saved up from odd jobs and my guardian gave me some before she left." She explained, slightly tightening her grip. "We can check here first." Ryan stopped by a relatively small looking store, dragging her inside.
Similarly to the library, the building seemed to have some sort of spacial magic as the inside is much larger than the outside. "Hello there, welcome to Matt Creations, what are you looking for?" The voice belonged to a pretty young woman either the same age as them or a bit older.
Seemed professional but her eyes never left Ryan. It almost feels as if the question was directed at him, Helena chose to ignore this and responded. "I just moved into town a few days ago and I'm looking for furniture, I'm looking for everything."
"Follow me." And just like that the young lady whose name they learned was E'va brought them about the store helping Helena chose furniture based on her approximate room size and aesthetic. Helena paid with ease placing the furniture into a storage bag before suggesting they also stop at another store for groceries.
"What else should we get?" Ryan asks walking through the isle. "We?" Helena asked raising an eyebrow at him. "Ya, we." He repeated dragging out the we while emphasizing it. "I plan to christen your kitchen with dinner later." He stated as if it was the most obvious thing.
Helena gave him another puzzled look as he walked along putting items in her cart. "Shouldn't I christen my own kitchen?" She asked clearly confused. "Are you calling me a bad cook?" He asked hurt while walking over to the frozen produce isle.
"What! No, that's not- I mean is it not typical for people to christen their own items?" She almost yelled defending herself. "Mmmm, so you don't want me to cook dinner?" He asked checking the labels on the meat before putting it in the cart. Helena sighed giving up and started adding fruits, cheese and yogurt into the cart, to which Ryan removed the fruits and cheese.
"Why'd you do that?" She asked reaching to read them only for Ryan to smack her hand away. Helena held her hand in shock as Ryan looked at her disappointed. "I can bring ya fruits and Elena makes cheese, she makes yogurt too but I'll let ya have that one." He explained walking over to the cashier. Helena sighed again taking out her card before Ryan could try to pay like her did at the furniture store.
By the time the two got home it was already evening, the setting sun giving the sky an ethereal glow. While Helena used magic to place the furniture, it took awhile for them, yes them, to agree on a layout for all the rooms and Ryan insisted on organizing the fridge before cooking.
Helena came down after her shower to see Ryan plating the food. "Are you sure you're cooking and not using magic? I always seem to catch you when you're finishing or plating. Very suspicious." She teased dragging out the very.
"As if food made with magic could ever taste this good." He sassed causing them both to laugh. "What is this?" She asked taking a seat at the small dining table. Ryan placed a cup of juice beside her place and took a seat across from her. "Creamy lobster fettuccine Alfredo."
"That sounds as good as it looks." Helena spun the pasta onto her fork and took a bite, moaning at the delicious taste. "Do you cook at the guild?" She asked after swallowing her third bite. "Nahhh, I'm not really at the guild much. Only when Irina and Callum drag me out for missions, my sister and cousins too. I'm mostly at home gardening and going to the waterfall." He replied in between bites.
"Really?" She asked surprised. "I wouldn't have guessed with how warmly they greeted you." Helena was embarrassed to look down, she was already finished and Ryan was only half way through. "I mean I might not be there often but I do help out often, like if some has something that needs fixing and others aren't available." He replied standing up.
Before Helena could question him, he took up her plate and walked over to the pot. "For a little lady you eat a lot." He teased, placing the plate back in front her. Helena pretended she didn't hear his comment and muttered a thank you before taking another bite.
