["Understanding Gomorra."]
This time, this was the name of the book that Julian read.
Bored while he read, Pandora randomly picked up one of the story books in the library depicting a heavily fictionalized version of one of the major battles that Zaratul fought during his imperious reign.
Through 'Understanding Gomorra' that was recommended by Rune, the library consciousness, Julian finally got the information that he wanted.
By the time he was done reading, he was left amazed by the intricate power system of this world.
He already knew that there are 9 Classes in Gomorra, ranging from level 1 to 100 which is the max level, but now he also learned of the ranks that Awakened climb through as they level up.
There are 5 ranks among Awakened, Rank D, C, B, A, and S. The 5 ranks correspond to the 5 major Class Awakening that Awakened go through that's different with each Class.
The first Class Awakening commences at Level 10 and that's when an Awakened attains D Rank.
The second, third, fourth, and fifth Class Awakening respectively commences at Level 30, Level 50, Level 70, and Level 100, and they each translate to C Rank, B Rank, A Rank, and S Rank.
During the peak of Zaratul's power, with him included, Dreadmoor had 3 S Rank powerhouses and that made them one of the strongest powers in the world if not the outright strongest.
He also learned about the 9 Classes.
In Gomorra, the Mage Class is seen as the strongest Class because aside their innate Class skills, Mages are scholars who have a keen ability of developing self-created skills which make them rise beyond the limits of their Class.
Mages represent the Class whose growth pattern is intent on harnessing Qi to shape the world externally for various effects.
As for Warriors, the Warrior Class embodies absolute mastery of the body through Qi. Whereas Mages shape the world externally, Warriors refine themselves into living weapons.
Thinking of Warriors, Julian could not help but think of his subordinate, Elena who was the only Warrior in his cabinet of main subordinates.
'I wonder how a Warrior tastes like'. Julian felt weird. 'Damn, I just remembered that she's a Harpy too!'
'I wonder how Harpies taste like'.
He truly was spoiled for choice with women in this world.
He also learned of the Archer Class, the Class that represents absolute mastery over distance, perception, and precision. Archers dominate battlefields by deciding when, where, and how death comes.
As for Assassins, these guys embody the art of erasure.
Whereas other Classes overpower or outshoot enemies, they ensure the enemy never realizes combat has begun.
Julian made a note to be careful of Assassins out there.
The Necromancer Class was self-explanatory, these guys command death.
As for Illusionists, Pandora's Class, Awakened of this Class govern perception, belief, and false reality. They weaponize the mind's acceptance of reality.
The book made a point to emphasize that- "Be Wary of the Illusionist!"
According to the author, they were the most insidious Class by a mile.
Seeing how much the author emphasized the warning, Julian could not help but shudder as he secretly threw a glance at Pandora.
'Hopefully, she respects me too much to use her powers on me'.
As for the Druid Class, it represented symbiosis with the world. Druids wield Qi by harmonizing with flora, fauna, weather, and natural cycles.
According to the author, at higher ranks, a Druid does not need to cast spells, they invoke the will of the world itself.
Julian noted this.
As for the Witch Class, Lilith's Class, Awakened of this Class govern curses, fate threads, and sympathetic magic.
Witches do not fight directly, instead they tilt probability, bind destiny, and let the consequences kill for them.
This explained Lilith's heavy injuries after the battle of 1895. Afterall, Witches were never meant for direct battle.
Then the Cleric Class. According to the author, Clerics are not merely healers, they are anchor of orders capable of miracles, judgement, and absolute protection.
Julian didn't truly understand the author's ethereal explanation of the Cleric Class, but he didn't linger on it.
Apart from learning about common knowledge of all 9 Classes, Julian also learned the most common skills of all 9 Classes.
For instance, he finally learned that the skill Pandora used to take him straight from his bedroom to his throne room was not teleportation but 'Mirror Step', a skill to reposition while leaving a convincing illusion behind.
Julian also learned that from Level 1 to 50, each Class awakens 2 new abilities every 5 levels. And from level 50 to 100, each Class awakens 2 new abilities every 10 levels, Class Awakening being the only exception at times.
To Julian, this was very important because it finally gave him the foundation to set goals to attain.
Now, he knew that at Level 15, 20, and 25 till the second Class Awakening at Level 30, he would gain 6 new Class abilities.
And finally, Julian glimpsed through the 12 major Races in Gomorra, focusing his attention on the Demon and Dragon Races.
Every Race have racial awakenings as they level up, just like Class Awakenings. For example, the Demon Race has 4 racial awakenings with 8 total traits unlocked between Levels 1 to 90.
As for the Dragon Race, as the strongest race in the world, it is the only race to have 5 racial awakenings with 9 total traits unlocked between Levels 1 to 100.
Only at this point did Julian feel confident enough to leave Dreadmoor, but first he needed a weapon to clear the Goblin Nest.
When he thought of a weapon, the first thing that came to his mind was Dreadmoor's armory but then he recalled that the weapons and artifacts in the armory were all Level 50 weapons and above.
A weak Level 10 Mage like him was not qualified to use any of them.
Julian almost blushed in embarrassment. 'I'm the Lord of this castle and yet I'm actually the weakest right now, f*ck!' His lips twitched.
Julian wasn't discouraged though because he had an alternative. Yesterday, though he didn't have the time to explore the System Shop properly, he recalled that he saw weapons for sale there.
Without hesitation, he accessed it.
