Chapter 29 - 29 Life Potion

The immense popularity of the Perfume House naturally attracted the covetous eyes of many, but after learning of Green's achievements, they all fell silent and abandoned their greed. Those who can reach such high positions are unlikely to be unintelligent; if the rewards and risks are disproportionate, naturally no one will take the job.

Green attended an industry conference invited by the Tulip Trading Company, where several well-known trading companies concluded contracts. These companies would export perfumes to various countries, with Green only responsible for supplying the perfumes. After the final deal was completed, Green would take 60% of the profits. To prevent the trading companies from secretly trading with others and deliberately lowering the price of the perfumes, Green also set a minimum price guarantee. Regardless of the final selling price of the perfumes, all the trading companies had to provide Green with a minimum guarantee.

Despite some unfair terms, none of the major merchants expressed dissatisfaction; on the contrary, they were very proactive. Under these circumstances, they should be grateful that their own businesses could survive.

Over the next six months, Green also developed several ordinary perfumes. While far inferior to those made from stinky flowers, they were still significantly better than perfumes on the market. These perfumes could be formulated using existing materials, and the process wasn't particularly complicated, making them suitable for mass production. Thanks to the disruptive power of Green perfumes, Fragrance House quickly monopolized the entire market.

Since the House of Perfume became a hit, Green handed over the management of the House of Perfume to Ashville, Lyra and Mia, and became a hands-off manager. Green didn't have much time to manage it, as experiments were more important.

After handing over his tasks, Green began his plan methodically. In a short period of time, Green collected the contents of all the books in the entire port of Allendale. The chip's scanning and storage functions allowed Green to absorb a large amount of knowledge in a short time. Green also commissioned major merchants to purchase rare books and contents from the outside world. With this frantic buying, Green actually managed to collect some things.

Inside the basement laboratory of the villa, Green was conducting experiments. The previously cramped laboratory had been expanded several times over thanks to Green's renovations, and its functions were now much more comprehensive. Ample financial support allowed Green to conduct experiments at will.

The laboratory was still filled with all sorts of exotic flowers, plants, insects, and animals. Green, dressed in a white lab coat, stood in front of the lab table, conducting experiments. Strangely, Green's hands were not moving, yet the beakers in front of him were constantly tumbling, accurately carrying out one experiment after another.

"The Wizard's Hand is truly amazing. It synchronizes with the user's thoughts without the slightest error, and its energy consumption is low. No wonder it's considered an essential spell for wizarding experiments," Green exclaimed. Since he began his frantic collection of knowledge books, he had discovered hidden content within one of them. It was this Wizard's Hand spell. This spell didn't provide any combat power, but it was extremely helpful for wizarding experiments. As long as a wizard's mental strength was strong enough, they could even conduct multiple experiments simultaneously using the Wizard's Hand.

Through continuous meditation, Green had solidified eight runes and become a third-class apprentice. With the help of the chip, Green constructed a model of this sorcery and successfully cast it. After his first success, Green used it with great curiosity until he finally fell asleep due to excessive mental exhaustion.

With the chip, Grimm can perform various precise operations with the hands of a wizard, and can even manipulate five objects at the same time, far surpassing ordinary wizard apprentices. Even the formal wizards recorded in books are only at this level.

Under Green's continuous operation, various experimental reagents were dripped into the beaker in front of him. As the reagents were added, the liquid in the beaker turned different colors. Coupled with the bubbling bubbles and the colorful gases rising up, one could tell at a glance that the liquid was extremely dangerous.

"Next is the final step." Green watched the potion change color continuously. Green turned to look at the side, where a 30-centimeter-long, strip-shaped creature was slowly wriggling in a huge beaker.

This slender creature has a leech-like appearance; its dark green body is unsettling at first glance, and its two tentacles on its head constantly extend and retract, as if probing its surroundings. Its mouth is also lined with serrated teeth and has a suction cup-like structure, making it a sight to behold and giving one goosebumps.

"Herois parasite, a parasite that lives on large whales, who would have thought that beneath its terrifying appearance, it actually possesses the ability to help large whales repair their bodies."

Green discovered this thing by accident. At a banquet, food made from large whales was served. While Green was eating, his chip suddenly detected something amiss, and he discovered that this parasite actually had regenerative capabilities. When this thing parasitizes the body of a large whale, if the whale suffers a fatal injury, it will change its form and continuously release a kind of nourishing substance to help the whale recover quickly and prevent the injury from worsening.

In extreme cases, the Hercules parasite inside a whale can even transform its body into a structure similar to a seed of life after leaving a parasite egg, directly converting itself into life force to save the host.

The moment Green discovered this thing, he knew its enormous potential. If he could fully understand the principles of this organism, he might be able to create artificial life seeds.

Green manipulated the Wizard's Hand, lifting the Helos Parasite. A syringe flew up from the other side and, without hesitation, pierced the parasite's body, beginning to draw blood. Feeling the blood draining from its body, the Helos Parasite struggled, its head thrashing wildly in the air, disgusting slime continuously oozing from its mouth.

However, all of this was in vain. As blood continued to be lost, the amplitude of the head movement of the Hercules parasite decreased, and eventually it stopped moving completely.

Looking at the gushing blood, Green casually tossed the Hercules parasite into the trash can. To his astonishment, the trash can already contained the corpses of more than a dozen Hercules parasites.

"Chip, continue monitoring the entire reaction and record the changes in the life-saving agent." After giving the order, Green looked at the experimental table without turning his head.

"Zhi"

As the blood and the medicine began to mix, it instantly boiled like lime being poured into boiling water, and colorful gases emerged from the beaker. Green remained unfazed and continued to watch the reaction in the beaker.

As time passed, the reaction began to weaken, and the constantly changing color of the medicine slowly turned green, eventually becoming emerald green.

Looking at the emerald green liquid, Green smiled with relief. He lifted the beaker and slowly poured the liquid into a test tube, sealing it with a cork. After confirming the seal was secure, Green picked up the test tube. Under the light, the emerald green liquid emitted a soft, shimmering green glow.

"The chip simulates the effects of a life-saving drug."

[Simulating...]

[Life Potion Effect 1: Heals bodily injuries and accelerates wound healing.]

[Life Potion Effect Two: Provides additional life energy for knight breakthroughs, increasing the success rate of knight apprentice breakthroughs by 82.75%, the success rate of formal knight breakthroughs by 54.58%, and the success rate of great knight breakthroughs by 10.58%.]

Even without access to the wizarding world, Grimm wouldn't stop. Unable to learn about the wizarding world, Grimm used the available resources to conduct research on knights.

Seeing the effects of the life-saving potion, Grimm smiled and nodded. Now there was hope for him to break through to the Great Knight level. Since becoming a full-fledged knight, Grimm had been searching for a way to break through to the Great Knight level. He even approached the governor of the port of Elendal, personally inquiring about how to achieve this. He then learned a very mystical result: Great Knights were all full-fledged knights who, during life-or-death crises, accidentally encountered some kind of power and broke through. If you asked what that power was, the Great Knights would be completely baffled; they themselves didn't know what had happened. They all became Great Knights in a daze, caught between life and death.

This left Green with no choice. As a scientist, and even one who had died once, Green really didn't want to take any more risks.

"Fortunately, with the life potion, breaking through to the Great Knight level shouldn't be a problem. Old Green might even be able to start cultivating again with this."

Besides these two main reasons, there are many more. Grimm will definitely leave Arendal and go to the wizarding world. After he leaves, the House of Perfume will have no support. Perhaps in the short term, the various forces will not dare to make a move because of Grimm's remaining power, but in the long run, it is hard to say, after all, people's hearts are unpredictable.

Green wanted to maintain the deterrent effect of force to ensure long-term stability. The life potion could be used to train formal knights on a large scale. Although these knights, who were forced to grow faster, were weaker than their peers, the advantage was that they could be mass-produced, and quantity could overwhelm quality.

After tidying up the laboratory with the wizard's touch, Green took the emerald green life potion and walked out of the underground laboratory.
