Chapter 34 - 34 Test, Invite

Time passed slowly, and Green's team moved forward. After waiting for a while, a blonde girl with tears in her eyes walked out of the tent, and it was finally Green's turn.

"Come in." A voice rang out from inside the tent, strong yet somewhat muffled, suggesting that the owner of the voice was not young.

The tent was sparsely furnished, except for a few oil lamps for lighting. In the center was a table and chair, with something resembling a crystal ball on the table. A wizard, dressed in a white robe and with mostly white hair, sat in the chair.

"Come here, just put your hand on the crystal ball," the old man said the moment Green entered. His tone already carried a hint of impatience, perhaps because there were too many people to greet.

Green didn't dare to delay and quickly placed his hand on the surface of the crystal ball.

The crystal ball soon began to emit light, and Green felt a wave emanating from it. This wave quickly swept over Green's entire body, impacting his mind.

[Unknown force field detected. Block it?]

[Do not stop for now; continue monitoring the unknown force field.]

The voice from the chip echoed in his mind, and to prevent himself from becoming an outcast, Green chose not to act rashly.

The strange fluctuations continued to increase, and the light emanating from the crystal ball in front of Grimm grew stronger and stronger. The impact on Grimm's mind also grew stronger.

"Very good, don't let go!" Seeing the crystal ball in Green's hand shining brighter and brighter, the old wizard couldn't sit still any longer. He stood up and began to instruct Green.

As the impact intensified, the runes in Green's mind began to resist it. The runes started flashing white light, and Green's mental energy began to be released outwards unconsciously.

"Hmm, this mental energy... a third-class apprentice? This runic aura? Is it the academy's basic meditation technique?" The mental energy that Green was spreading outwards was quickly detected. The old wizard looked at Green, his eyes filled with shock.

The old wizard abruptly interrupted Green, who was in the middle of a test. He grabbed Green's hand and asked seriously, "How did you learn meditation?"

A strange fluctuation emanated from the old wizard, and he began to scan Grimm.

[Detecting an unknown force field scan, should we block it?]

[Do not stop it for now.] Helpless, Green could only give this order to the chip, looking at the agitated old wizard.

The old wizard looked at Green with disbelief in his eyes.

"You're still a Grand Knight?"

Seeing the old wizard's horrified expression, Green quickly told him about the meditation method he had discovered in the three books.

The old wizard listened to Green's words, and a glint even appeared in his eyes, as if he were looking at some amazing wonder.

"Alright, no need to say anything more, I understand." The old wizard grabbed Green's hand and led him directly to the exit of another tent.

Leaving the tent, the old wizard led Green through a maze of turns, boarding directly onto the ship belonging to Whitehouse Academy. The old wizard, holding Green's hand, led him into the ship's interior. After passing through a long, dark corridor, the old wizard brought Green to a room.

The old wizard knocked respectfully on the door, and without waiting for a response, said directly, "Lady Lillian, another apprentice has found the meditation method hidden in the three books of the academy."

As soon as he finished speaking, the previously closed door suddenly opened, and a powerful force pulled Green and the old wizard inside.

An elderly woman with gray hair and a kind face, dressed in a long robe, sat quietly cross-legged before Green. However, Green dared not relax for a moment; a series of warnings from the chip in his mind were already flashing through his head.

"Warning: High-energy object detected. Please move away immediately."

"Warning: High-risk radiation detected. Long-term exposure has a 72.3% chance of inducing physical mutations. Please stay away as soon as possible."

"An unknown force field has been detected, exceeding the chip's limit, and interference is not possible."

"Warning...Warning...Please activate your life shield and move away from danger."

The series of warnings from the chip had put Green on high alert. The seemingly harmless Lillian in front of him was not as simple as she appeared.

"Not bad, it really is the basic meditation method of our school. Your mental strength has reached the critical state." Lillian opened her eyes, looked at Green, and showed a kind smile.

"Child, don't be nervous. Being able to learn meditation proves you have extraordinary talent. We won't harm you. We are white wizards, not black wizards!" Lillian clearly sensed Green's nervousness and gently comforted him. However, perhaps because she had a strong aversion to black wizards, she inadvertently made a sarcastic remark about them.

"Come, place your hand on this crystal ball to test your talent level." The witch stood up and took out a crystal ball from behind her back.

Green had been observing the old witch and was quite certain that there was nothing hidden behind her.

"Space equipment?" Green wondered to himself.

"Yes, Lady Lillian."

Upon hearing Lillian's words, Green stepped forward and placed his hand on the crystal ball.

This time, the feeling was completely different from before. The previous force field was a constant impact, but this time it was a gentler scan.

As the scan progressed, the crystal ball's light grew increasingly intense, eventually illuminating the entire room.

The brighter the crystal ball shone, the gentler Lillian's gaze became as she looked at Grin. When the crystal ball illuminated the entire room, Lillian exclaimed with ecstatic joy, "First-class talent, and a Grand Knight at that! Haha, our school is saved!"

After her initial excitement, Lillian grabbed Green's hand.

"What's your name? Would you like to become my apprentice?"

Upon hearing Lillian's words, Green looked troubled. He knew nothing about the wizarding world and was unsure whether this invitation was a good thing or a bad thing.

Lillian, having lived all these years, naturally noticed Green's predicament. "Child, don't be nervous, let me explain the reason to you."

"It's like this..."

With Lillian's explanation, Green finally understood the whole story.

Lillian's school practices a meditation method called Klorus, also known as the Ultimate Meditation Method. This method allows a wizard's mental power to reach the current limit of what a wizard can achieve. It has numerous benefits for wizards seeking breakthroughs, and there is virtually no possibility of failure.

However, this meditation method also has indelible flaws: the excessively long training time and slow progress. Only those with first-class talent can learn this meditation method; those with lower-class talent will reach the end of their lifespan before reaching their own limits.

The Limitless School, to which Lillian belongs, hasn't recruited a single student for decades. It's not that they lack top-tier talent, but such students, with an extremely high probability of becoming full-fledged wizards, are incredibly valuable to every school. Why would they be given to the Limitless School?

As for the newly discovered first-class talent student, there are still 55 competitors in the outer tents. With first-class talent, it might take more than a decade for one to appear. The people of the Limit School are already worried sick. Moreover, even if a student has first-class talent, they may not be willing to join the school and study other meditation methods. First-class talent also makes it very easy for them to advance to become a formal wizard.

Today, although the Limit School has high-level wizards, it is facing a talent shortage and is struggling to continue.

After hearing Lillian's explanation, Green nodded. No wonder he was so agitated; his own school of thought was on the verge of extinction.

"So, Green, would you like to become my disciple?" Lillian's eyes were full of expectation.

Green lowered his head, seemingly deep in thought, but in reality, he was using the chip to calculate whether he could reach the breakthrough standard before his lifespan by practicing the Ultimate Meditation Technique.
