Chapter 27 - 27 Stinky Flower

When Green woke up, he felt refreshed and invigorated, his body and energy fully restored. Sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains, indicating it was still daytime. He got up and opened the window, letting in a rush of fresh air mixed with the scent of flowers. Outside, the sun hung high overhead, and the people in the manor were still busy tidying up every corner.

"Chip, how long have I been asleep?" Green murmured to himself.

[The main sleep time is 5 hours, and the whole time is in a deep sleep state.] The mechanical voice of the chip rang in Green's mind.

"Deep sleep? No wonder it didn't take long." Green nodded slightly, pondering to himself. Deep sleep allows people to quickly restore energy and promotes cell regeneration, which is extremely beneficial for the body's recovery and can naturally shorten sleep time.

Green continued to survey the manor's surroundings before walking to his desk and sitting down.

"White House Academy's admissions period is around January each year, and it's only July now, so there are still six months to go. I must make proper plans for the future," Green thought to himself. He couldn't just leave; he had to make sure Old Green was settled and had a peaceful old age.

"The first issue is the source of income. Right now, the entire manor is operating on a pay-to-play basis, so we must find a stable source of income, at least one that can create a positive cycle." This problem was no challenge for Green; he had already devised a solution while still in the carriage.

Without hesitation, Green picked up a pen and quickly wrote down a series of plans on a piece of paper. After finishing, he got up, opened the door, walked through the corridor, and went down the mahogany staircase to the sixth floor. At the end of the stairs, two armored guards were standing watch. These were guards that Green had specially arranged to prevent anyone from breaking in.

"Lord Green, good day." Hearing the commotion behind them, the two guards immediately turned around. Upon seeing Green, they knelt down to greet him. The clanging of their metal armor produced a heavy, solemn sound, a testament to their loyalty and duty.

"Alright, get up, no need to be so tense. Go and call Asheville, I need to talk to her." Green waved his hand, signaling the two to get up. Then, he gave the order to the guards, and went to sit down on the sofa on the sixth floor, closing his eyes to rest.

"Yes, sir," the two guards replied respectfully. After standing up, they exchanged a glance, nodded to each other, and then the guard on the left quickly went downstairs.

Green sat on the sofa with his eyes closed, quietly waiting. Soon, a series of noisy footsteps came from the stairs. Before Ashville even reached the sixth floor, Green could already hear her voice.

"Brother Green, did you have the soldiers tell me what's going on?" Ashville's voice was playful and energetic.

Green opened his eyes, and Ashville's vibrant figure appeared before him.

On her first day at the manor, Asheville began to dress up meticulously, no longer covering herself up as before, but wearing a dress. She deliberately accentuated her high breasts and pert buttocks, her fair skin glowing slightly in the sunlight, as if trying her best to display her charm.

As he talked to Green, Ashville sat down next to him without any hesitation, displaying an extremely intimate relationship.

[Dopamine abnormality detected...] Green interrupted in his mind before the chip's announcement was finished.

[This doesn't need to be announced.]

Green took out a sheet of paper from his pocket, which was filled with a series of materials.

"Aishville, collect all these things according to what's written on this paper, and then go to the city district to rent or buy a shop. The specifics depend on the price; the location doesn't need to be too picky," Green said, handing the paper to Ashville.

"Yes, Brother Green, I'll go right now." Ashville obediently took the paper Green handed her, acting like a little bird clinging to him. As she left Green, she deliberately rubbed against him, then ran away with a shy expression.

[Androgen secretion...] The chip's broadcast was interrupted again.

Asciville took Green's orders very seriously and immediately dispatched a group of people to purchase the things Green needed from various locations in the port of Allendale.

Green also came outside the manor and directed the people in the manor to move the items from his experimental wagon into the villa, one by one. The guards were the ones carrying all of Green's experimental supplies; the maids, upon seeing the creature on the experimental wagon, were almost all so terrified that their legs went weak and they couldn't move. Even the guards, several of whom trembled as they carried the box containing the giant centipede.

The guards said that sending me to the battlefield to kill the enemy would be much easier than carrying this thing. The battlefield is bloody and dangerous; this is purely a matter of physical discomfort. Just getting close to it makes me feel like I'm about to have nightmares.

Fortunately, the guards had a high tolerance for exertion and eventually completed the task of moving the items. Although the items were light, the guards were all covered in sweat after they finished.

After everything was moved into the basement, Green specially took out a flower.

The flower was carefully preserved in a glass box. Its shape resembled a trumpet, but it was a sickly bright red, like flowing blood, and just looking at it made one feel uneasy. The plant's stem was pale, interspersed with blood-like veins. When light shone on it, these red veins looked as if blood was flowing within them, terrifying and eerie.

When this thing was taken out and placed in the center of the villa, the guards and maids all thought it was some kind of demon incarnate. It looked so strange; there was no such plant at all. Even old Green looked at Green with worry, fearing that Green had been possessed by something eerie.

Green looked at the strange looks from the crowd and smiled helplessly. However, Green had no intention of explaining; the facts were more convincing.

Slowly opening a corner of the glass, a rich fragrance bursts forth instantly, a unique and refreshing scent spreading like a tide. The fragrance in the air is neither too strong nor too weak, just right, perfectly natural.

The moment the fragrance reached the people in the villa, their faces lit up with a look of rapture and intoxication, as if they were experiencing the most wonderful thing in the world. Some even began to dance and gesticulate wildly, completely forgetting their surroundings.

"The smell is still too strong. It looks like it needs to be diluted when making perfume." Green looked at the situation in the villa and stroked his chin as he analyzed. This was a special plant that Green had cultivated in his experiments. Originally, this thing was called Stink Flower, and it had an extremely unpleasant smell, like rotting garbage.

Having been a scientist in his previous life, Green naturally knew that "stink" was a change that occurred after "fragrance" reached its extreme. During the cultivation process, Green controlled the input of life force and changed the natural growth pattern, so that the "fragrance" would not turn into "stink" due to being too strong. After three generations of cultivation by Green, the "stink" was finally suppressed into "fragrance".

However, Green quickly discovered that perhaps because of the presence of various predatory plants in the experimental environment, Gloom had evolved to mimic these plants, and the fragrance it secreted had a certain degree of hallucinogenicity. Furthermore, due to the strong diffusion of Gloom's fragrance, if left unchecked, it could spread to a radius of ten miles.

Green's brief opening of the box had a huge impact on everyone in the villa, but fortunately there was no follow-up, and the fragrance quickly dissipated into the air.

This is Green's way of getting rich: perfume made from stinky flowers is guaranteed to be a bestseller. Elendall Port is a developed region, so naturally, more women will be willing to pay a high price for perfume.

As the fragrance dissipated, the crowd came to their senses. Those who had been dancing and gesturing wildly had flushed faces and wished they could disappear into the ground.

It's so shameful to do something like this in front of Lord Green.

Green wasn't there, but when he first smelled the fragrance, he was also affected. If it weren't for the chip's notification and his strong physique, Green would probably have jumped off the carriage, dancing with joy.

Green looked at the group, who had returned to normal, and gestured for them to continue tidying up the manor. Then Green looked at Stinky Flower; now he had to consider whether to go for mass production or a scarcity marketing strategy.
