After everyone had obtained their Maslow's Alliance identities, the convoy quickly entered the port of Elendal. The streets were clean and quiet, with guards patrolling back and forth, their eyes sharp. Anyone caught littering would be severely punished with fines and caning as a deterrent.
The streets were lined with shops, and even in Allendale, located on the outskirts of the city, it exuded an unusual vibrancy. Most shops sold handicrafts, local delicacies, and various seafood imported from the port. Green even noticed a shop specializing in pearl blind boxes. Occasionally, customers could be seen engaging in heated haggling with the shopkeeper over prices.
Green's convoy members looked around with curiosity. Guided by the guards, Green decided to hire a guide. In Allendale, such guides were plentiful, even forming an organization similar to travel agencies in his previous life. Green specifically chose a guide from the official Allendale port organization; although the price was slightly higher, their reliability was a major advantage.
Guided by the caravan, the convoy proceeded along the winding road, arriving at a spacious open area after about half an hourglass's time. At the far end of the open area stood a massive six-story greyish-white stone building, beside which a path led to a wide-open space. A few carriages were parked there, and Green glanced at them, noticing that most of them bore the insignia of the Kingdom of Lodin.
As the convoy entered the road, a man emerged from the stone building, holding a signpost, and guided Green's convoy to its stop.
"The level of commercialization is indeed very high, there are even dedicated greeters," Green thought to himself.
Following the directions of the greeters, Green's carriage quickly came to a stop in the open space. The greeters, with smiles on their faces, approached Green's motorcade. Upon seeing this, Green also alighted from his carriage.
"Sir, welcome to the Elendartrick Guild. My name is Enfia, and I work here. I'm sure you'll feel right at home. How may I help you?" Enfia introduced herself, bowed to Green, and smiled warmly.
Looking at the blond, blue-eyed man in front of him, dressed in a black tuxedo, handsome and with a smile in his eyes, Green couldn't help but sigh that he was indeed a breath of fresh air.
"Enfia, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Green. I need a manor, preferably a secluded one. Do you have any available?" Green stated his request directly.
"Sir, a request like yours is not difficult for the Tricky Guild. Please come with me," Enfia replied respectfully.
Green gestured for the convoy to wait there, while he followed Enfia into the stone building. The interior was luxuriously decorated, with dazzling crystal chandeliers, stair railings made of pure silver and intricately carved, and seats made of precious wood that emitted a faint fragrance.
Inside the stone building, people came and went, all guided by staff members like Enfia. Enfia led Green to a huge sand table.
"Mr. Green, as per your request, there are currently three more estates available. All three are located on the inner edge of the Elendal port city, boasting beautiful surroundings and pleasant scenery. Most importantly, they will not be disturbed by the outside world." Enfia emphasized the phrase "will not be disturbed by the outside world."
After being reminded by the city gate guards, Green naturally understood the meaning of those words.
After Enfia gave a detailed introduction to the environment of the three manors, Green ultimately chose a manor in the east of the city, mainly because it was close to the public library of Elendall, making it convenient for Green to collect knowledge.
"Mr. Green, the price of this manor is approximately 2,500 gold coins. Have you made your decision? We also offer rental services."
A small manor costs 2,500 gold coins, which is quite expensive, but considering the hidden benefits mentioned by the guard, it is worth the price.
"This is the place. Please take my convoy there." Green made a decisive decision.
"Yes, sir." A hint of excitement flashed in Enfia's eyes; clearly, selling a manor would bring him a considerable income.
Despite the bustling crowd inside the stone building, few people ultimately purchased the estate; most opted to rent, which, while subject to numerous restrictions, was relatively inexpensive. The vast majority of merchants and nobles chose to rent.
After Enfia escorted Green back to his carriage, he immediately led out a horse to lead the way for Green's entourage.
After a short journey, led by Enfia, the convoy soon arrived at their destination, the manor. The driveway to the manor was rather narrow, unsuitable for the convoy's large vehicles. Enfia and the convoy members disembarked and walked onto the road leading to the manor.
Green got out of the car and looked around. Although it was only a small estate, it wasn't small in scale. Perhaps because it was located on the edge of the city, the estate was quite expansive. The first thing that caught his eye was the wall surrounding the estate, about two meters high, painted white. In the middle was a large iron gate that could be opened inwards. There was a little dust on it, but not too much, indicating that it was cleaned regularly.
Inside the estate is a huge pool with a fountain in the center. But the most striking feature is the heart of the estate – a magnificent seven-story villa.
Green surveyed his surroundings and nodded in satisfaction. The 2,500 gold coins were well spent. After having Ashville hand the 2,500 gold coins over to Enfia, he instructed everyone to begin cleaning the castle and familiarizing themselves with its surroundings.
The people in the convoy were all extremely excited. This manor meant they would no longer have to sleep on the streets and would have a place to shelter from the wind and rain. Many more looked at Green with fanaticism. In their eyes, Green was practically their savior. Without Green, if they had been driven to the slums, they wouldn't even have been left alive. As for the women, the thought of the slums filled their eyes with fear, and their gazes towards Green became even more awe-inspiring.
As for Green himself, he also felt a certain burden suddenly disappear and his heart settled down. This was probably due to the activation of his farming genes from his previous life, which were effectively relieved after he had his own piece of land.
