I went back to the inn stealthily and I slept until day. When I awoke, I walked over to the castle and I got my 4th audience with the Baron. "I've done the task." I said wasting no time. "So I've heard." He replied smugly. "My reward?" I asked impatiently. "I'll give it to you, but first attend this party I'm hosting for you." He said with a plotting smile.
"My boat leaves tonight." I said, trying to avoid the party. "I know you're lying. There isn't another boat for a week at least." He said with an irritated smile. "Really? I could've sworn that I had a boat for tonight." I replied confidently. "I can schedule a boat for you tomorrow, after the party. Deal?" Felix said. "Sure." I replied with a practiced smile. I wasn't about to stay till morning.
I bought a black suit with a handkerchief, and I got a haircut. It all costed about 3 gold in total. I chose to arrive early and secure a way out of the party in advance. I had to be there at night for the boat with Tenka. About an hour after I arrived, some nobles had entered and they got announced by a servant with a voice enhancement magic. "Welcome the Count of Baly, Atticus Baly and the Baly family! Atticus walked in with his wife and daughter.
I introduced myself to them and I entertained the other guests that arrived after. "Hello madam." I said to the Countess of Baly. "Hello sir." I said to Atticus. When about an hour had passed, I noticed the sun was beginning to set. I then made my way to the champagne table which is close to the balcony. While I went to get one last drink someone approached me. "So I've heard about you stopping this territory's bandit issue." A girl said smugly. "That I have. Can you remind me of who you are again?" I asked politely.
"I am the first daughter of the Baly family, Anna Baley. "Nice to meet you Anna." I said with a slight warm smile. "Nice to meet you as well, Centi." She said as she smiled back. There isn't any downside in getting connected with a noble, so I entertained a conversation until the sun completely set. As we talked, I noticed just how beautiful she really was. She had amazing green eyes, and she had clean charming long black hair. "I have to go now." I said with a fake sorrowful expression.
"I see." She replied sadly. I noticed her expression and I tried to lighten the mood a little. "Mind if I visit your territory sometime?" I questioned with a grin. "Of course we'd love to have you." She said with a smile, her spirits clearly lifted. I went to the balcony and jumped down into the bushes, using aura on my feet and legs to lessen the shock.
After I landed I looked up to make sure nobody was following me. I looked up at the balcony where I just leapt and I saw nobody, so I continued and left the manor stealthily
What Centi didn't know however is that Anna saw me leap and she hid from my gaze. "That was insane!" Anna thought as she saw Centi jump.
I left for the boat by the bandit hideout and after about an hour of running I found Tenka there. "Ready?" Tenka questioned. "Yes, yes I am." I said with a small chuckle. We departed and then we sailed out into the night, periodically taking turns keeping the eggs warm. We talked the while way there, with Tenka guiding the ship every so often so we dont drift away. When morning came, Tenka and I decided to get some sleep. I let Tenka sleep first, and after 3 hours I woke him up. "Its already been 3 hours?" Tenka said whilst yawning. "Yup." I said as I laid down to rest.
We kept sailing for a few days. "This is taking so long." I said with a slightly annoyed tone. "Not much we can do about it. Its not like I have water magic to move the boat or anything. I thought about his words for a second. Then it came to me. "Tanka can just us the firework magic to propell us fowards. "Tenka, use the firework magic on the back of the boat." I said confidently. "Why? He said confused. "Because. It can propell us fowards with its power." I said.
"Okay, but it will drain my magic." Tenka said, too tired to go against my idea. "The boat might catch fire though, fair warning Centi." Tenka said before launching a firework, using the knock back force to move the boat. "Do it again!" I said with slight excitement at the major increase in speed. We kept sailing for another 2 days until the continent was finally in sight.
