When I got off of the wagon, I noticed that one of the bandits had a nametag above their names. I decided to target them, and I rushed to strike. "They could give me aome decent information abiut this place", I thought as I began to charge.
I inserted aura in my legs, then whilst airborne I put aura in my arms and I swung down at his shoulder. He also used his aura, but he couldn't manifest it fast enough, and his shoulder was crushed and his left arm slumped unnaturally. "Fuuuuuck!" He said as I read his nametag while kicking him down.
His name was Brandon. "So Brandon, we have some catching up to do." I said with a sadistic smile. I tossed Brandon over to Tenka. "Don't kill him." I told Tenka as I went back into the thick of the fray. "Okay." He replied slightly confused with why I chose to keep him alive.
"Help!" The guard who I talked to earlier yelled. I put aura into my legs and I charged at the bandit. "This will be fun." I said as I swung with aura around my arms and club. I swung down on his head and he died. "Thanks." The guard said as he tried to catch his breath. "My pleasure." I replied as I ran over to kill the rest of the bandits. They were all aura users, so this is a gold mine for me to get stronger.
I rampageed on and on for about 5 minutes, and they all died except for their leader. "Aaagh! Help! I'm dying!" The bandits shrieked as I brutally pummeled each of their heads into a crude cube. When I went to charge at the leader, I saw something magnificent. One of the caravan guards deployed a far superior aura to my own.
They unsheathed their sword and they sliced the bandit leader in half. This made me do a double take. As I was awestruck, the guard I saved called out to me. "Shocked eh?" "I very much am." I said, still awestruck. "He is a rank 2 aura user. You were impressive too dont get me wrong, but our leader is on a whole different level.
He continued. "His unsheathe? That is what is called a skill. A wonderous ability that true swordsman are born with!" He said with respect for his leader. I ended the conversation and I left back to the wagon. The caravan cleaned up the bodies and harvested the heads of the bandits to turn them in for ransom.
"Alright, so now it is time for the fun part." I said with a cruel smile on my face, looking down on Brandon, whose life now rests in my hands. "I'll tell you anything, I swear!" He pleaded pathetically. "This guy's a real wimp. He'd be of better use as a skeleton" Tenka said annoyed. "What do you know about the event?" I questioned, quickly getting to the point. "I dont know anything about it, I promise!" Brandon replied fearfully.
"I see." I said coldly. "What event?" Tenka asked, overhearing our conversation as he drove the wagon. "Nothing." I said. "Okay" Tenka replied with a hint of sadness. "Last thing" I said boldly. "What are aura ranks?" I asked curiously, with that question eating up at my mind every since I saw the Rank 2 guard captain.
"Okay, I'll tell you" Brandon replied with fear still in his voice. "Rank 1 aura users are people who just obtained aura after cultivating for years. People who can merely use aura to enhance their physical capabilities. Rank 2 allows for some people to manifest a 'skill'. The skill can be anything supernatural, whether it be that guards slash, or a aura projection or even a skill based on darkness, which seems opposite to the bright aura. Rank 2 is identified when one unlocks their skill. Rank 3 isn't attainable by effort alone. Talent is necessary. Rank 3 amplifies the person's skill immensely. It can allow a simple projection skill to be a refined weapon, or for a slash type skill to make a slice through a diamond boulder. Rank 4 is only attainable by nobility. Their body, enhanced from a young age by all sorts of elixirs, allows a simple cutting skill to cleave a whole forest of trees with one blow. Rank 5 is really just a legend of the past, and nobody has achieved it for centuries. Rank 5 allows one to cut the sky. It allows for one to slay a dragon and for someone to cleave a mountain, even to stand up to a-" He suddenly stopped his explanation. His eyes glowed neon blue and he spoke again. "You cant know more at this time, they said not yet. To learn more finish the game!" He said eerily. His head then swelled up slowly and his head exploded outright.
I moved back instinctively and Tenka asked if everything was okay. I replied that all.was well and I kicked his body off of the wagon, leaving it for the animals to clean up his body. I thought about all that had happened today and I took over steering from Tenka so he could sleep. I really only took over so I could organize my jumbled thoughts.
