"No. No. Tyler, don't do it. No!"
I was running through the dark room, trying to get out of the building. Tyler had locked me inside twhe room.
"Tyler, open the door. Please!"
Smoke began to fill the room, and my senses started to blur.
"Tyler, open the door!"
I saw Tyler simply laughing at me, leaving me behind in the house that was catching fire.
I looked around—the fire was spreading rapidly.
"Tyler, no!"
"Ahhh!" I woke up with a start, panting heavily and drenched in sweat.
I began to calm myself.
"It's okay, Payu. It's just a dream. It's all in the past. You're okay now. You're safe."
I grabbed the water bottle beside my bed and drank quickly. My body was still shaking. Even after so many years, that memory still haunted me. I would never forgive Tyler for what he had done.
Just as I began to calm down, I heard a knock at the door.
"Mr. Lin, have you woken up? Breakfast will be ready in five minutes. Please call me if you need anything."
Ah, it was the maid.
I slowly got out of bed and checked the time. 8:15? No wonder the maid knocked. But what did she call me again—Mr. Lin? I need to speak with the butler; no one should call me Mr. Lin. I'm Theerakul, not Lin.
Later, as I walked down the stairs to get breakfast, I saw Tyler.
He held my hand and, with his puppy eyes, said,
"Payu, let's eat breakfast together."
I didn't understand why he was saying that when we were already going to eat at the same table.
"Oh, I was going to have a conversation with your butler, but since I met you now, I'll just tell you. Tyler Lin, please tell your staff not to call me Lin. I may have married you, but I'm still a Theerakul. My name hasn't even changed on any papers. These conservative people still think an omega should take the alpha's last name."
I said this and walked quickly. Even without looking at Tyler's face, I could sense that he was hurt.
"Okay. I'll let them know," he said softly.
I looked at him and smiled brightly like an idiot. What was there to smile about?
I needed to discuss the upcoming project with Tyler at breakfast—our meeting was today.
