Chapter 6 - chapter 6 : Finalising The Deal

At the breakfast table, I was sitting directly in front of Tyler. We weren't talking at all, even though I needed to discuss our company's deal with him. Still, I couldn't help feeling a little awkward remembering how he had carried me home in his arms last night.

Noticing my discomfort, Tyler broke the silence.

Tyler: "Do you feel okay? You drank quite a lot last night."

Payu: "Yeah, I feel fine."

Tyler: "Please try to take care of your health, Payu. You really don't take care of yourself. You're so slim, and your weight is very low. Yesterday, when I carried you in my arms, you weighed almost nothing."

I slammed my glass on the table.

In a cold tone, I said, "Tyler, talking while eating is bad manners. So shut up."

Tyler's face fell. He replied like an obedient puppy, "Okay."

To be honest, I couldn't even stay angry at this guy. Why does he look so cute? No—I have to talk to him today about the forty-million-dollar deal between our companies.

I looked at Tyler, who was still lowering his head, and said, "Tyler, today we'll finalize the deal between our companies."

His mood instantly brightened. "Okay."

Seriously, I couldn't see him as anything other than a golden retriever.

While I was leaving the house to go to my company, I saw Tyler standing by the gate in his car. He looked at me through the glass window and said, "Payu, get in."

I looked at him in shock and rejected his offer. "No, I'm fine. I'll just take an Uber."

But he didn't give up and kept insisting.

"Payu, we're both going to your company to finalize the deal, so why don't we go together? Also, we're a married couple. Married couples should share things."

I frowned, about to say something harsh, but then I looked at his face. His puppy-like eyes made my anger disappear in a second.

"Okay, fine."

I got into the car. In the past, I had owned several cars, but after bankruptcy, I had to sell them all. After this forty-million-dollar deal, the first thing I will do is buy a cheap, daily-use car.

Tyler started the engine, and we headed to the company. I don't know why, but the air felt nice today—maybe because of the forty-million-dollar deal and the chance to finally improve my company's situation. I looked out the car window; the sunny day felt warm and pleasant.

Tyler noticed my calm mood and said, "Payu, doesn't today feel nice? Even the sun is warm and bright."

"Yeah, it does," I replied.

Soon, we arrived at my company. I only had ten employees because I couldn't afford more, and the company itself was small. Still, my company is my pride.

After getting out of the car, I went inside, straight to my office, and offered Tyler a seat.

"Please sit, Mr. Tyler Lin."

Tyler chuckled softly and sat down. "You know, it sounds kind of se— I mean… pretty when you say my name."

I raised an eyebrow, not understanding what he meant. He quickly tried to smooth things over. "Let's complete the deal between our companies now."

"Okay."

I handed him the papers.

We signed the papers and the agreement.

Finally, the deal was done.
