Sitting down looking at the cat I now wonder what to do, the magic does immediately form a contract but what that really just lets me do is summon the familiar from anywhere and to give orders/tasks to complete.
Outside of this I am not exactly given a lot of information.
Thinking of what might be best to do now before I go to sleep I debate on simply asking the cat to show me some of its abilities.
This might work since to fulfill commands it needs to understand human words...
"Hey, Cifera, could you show me some of your abilities? I wasn't exactly told what you can do" I ask sheepish of my own lack of knowledge Cifera seems to understand what I am saying only to jump gaining space and enlarging to size of a horse!
"Holy Shi-" I start saying before she just as suddenly shrinks down to the size of a penny
"Well isn't that interesting?" I say rhetorically and laughing a little.
Returning to her normal form she puffs her chest out at if saying praise me, chuckling I answer "Yes you are amazing Cifera"
I also start scratching her chin which at first she flinches to but then leans in for the pleasant sensation.
Watching like this I try to grab a hold of her to pick her up but she leaps out of the way with speed that shouldn't be possible as it even leaves a visible afterimage.
"Holy, you are fast!" I almost yell, surprised at her speed. A grin then shows up on my face as I start chasing her around my room trying to hug her.
Understanding my intentions she leaps away gracefully even taunting me by waving her backside every time I fail to catch her.
This continues on for a while until my hands pass straight through her form. I then feel her weight on my shoulders which is surprisingly light, but the image before me doesn't disappear.
"Okay wow well one, you are very light and fluffy which is good, and two you can make illusions???" I say in bewilderment, honestly pretty glad as with the speed, illusions and size change she can be quite formidable in battle and aid in travel.
Standing up, I start putting away the books and random shit scattered on the floor from my earlier chase of Cifera.
Finished, I choose to go brush my teeth, for this Cifera jumps up, likely not thrilled at the idea of water splashing on her.
Afterward I start changing my clothes only to see her turn away from me while I do that... eh? well whatever.
Having changed in my sleep wear I turn off the elemental, magical or whatever lamp that was lighting the room till that point.
Getting into bed and into my covers I turn to Cifera and ask "Would you lay down with me?" I ask but then continue "I must warn you I turn a lot before I can fall asleep."
She pauses looks around then jumps onto the bed, window sill and out the window. Well that's one way to refuse.
I quickly shout behind her "Just don't get yourself hurt!"
Smiling I lay down to rest, I note the time which is about 8 pm, and then fall asleep almost instantly.
Waking up I pleasantly greeted by Cifera who seemed to have snuck in when I was asleep only to cuddle into my embrace to fall asleep.
Annoyingly my phone then rings with an alarm which I set to 5:00 am as to make sure I wouldn't be late.
It takes me about 10 minutes to get ready, after which Cifera finally gets up off the bed and starts cleaning her slightly disheveled fur.
I hide away my electronics and most of the extra Mora given to me specifically by Varka, funny thing actually, he gave me more than double what the relief funds and the additional funds I requested for my mom.
From what he told me for as long as I don't quit for the entire two weeks I will keep getting this amount daily for a month.
To put into perspective the monthly relief payments are about 70,000 Mora for 2 people (not including rent) while the amount I bargained out for was about 30,000 Mora a week or 120,000 a Month.
Now here daily I will be getting 500,000 Mora just for training under Varka, like damn that is lucrative, it also means it will be hellish to the extreme.
Also Varka is loaded to pay so much out of his own pocket.
Anyway, I write down a note for my mom, so that if anything, she should go ask the knights headquarters for my whereabouts as I will be training with Varka and I do not know when I will be free.
Heading out it takes me about 15 minutes to arrive so it is just about 5:25 am and barely before the sunrise.
I try to knock but no one answers, so I sit down on a nearby bench just enjoying the cool morning air.
To my surprise I then spot Varka climbing up the stairs to the headquarters. He is surprised at my early arrival but seems to just grin.
A shiver goes down my spine but then I notice him looking down to my right and following his gaze I notice Cifera, I had not realized she followed me.
Looking back at Varka who again turned his gaze at me I can only raise my hands and shrug saying "A new familiar of mine.... I formed a contract with her after reading a book-"
I seem to trail off not believing my own words but Varka just shakes his head and gestures for me to follow.
We go around the building to a back door which I found out is a door leading straight to the walled-off training ground.
I am unsurprised to see nobody there yet since well the sun ain't even up yet!!!
Varka ends up lighting the lamps though I still do not know how they work, I try asking Varka but he just shakes his head and tells me to ask the librarian Lisa.
I shiver at the suggestion and just ignore the idea entirely. He brings me to a specific corner of the field and then tells me that he will start of by assessing my physical capabilities, but first he drags out an armor that is obviously heavy even for him.
"If you can do 10 pushups, 10 sit ups, 10 squats and 10 burpees in the armor then I double the amount of Mora I give you each day" he says grinning and beckoning for me to try.
Staring at him silently for a moment I then walk up and say "If I don't try I won't even know if I can't"
"Well let's get this thing on you shall we?" asks Varka seemingly elated at my recklessness
It takes a while to put the armor on but when I eventually do I can barely take a step forward.
"Well, I can barely move" I comment then I try to jump only to not even leave the ground.
"Well I know I can't do burpees " I say next and continue "I can't even jump"
Varka then smiles and speaks "Good, training ends for today, now I got tasks to do so I am going to the office" Leaving me bewildered in place.
Uhhh shit... he wasn't planning to just leave me in this armor right? Damn it
I try to reach behind me to loosen the armor but fail spectacularly. I pull my arms out of the armor to my core area and try to lift the top of the armor....
No use, Varka strapped it down...
"Fucking damn it!!!!" I yell at the top of my lungs only to hear laughing from Varka's office.
With great effort I raise my arm and middle finger at the office in hopes he happened to have looked outside so that I can express my opinion of the situation.
Unfortunately there is no such luck. All I know is that I am stuck in this heavy asf armor for until I get it off somehow.
Looking around I then notice a cackling grey cat, Cifera pointing at me with her claw and laughing so hard she fell off the post.
Annoyed I retort "At least I can keep my balance"
At this her laughter stops and she enlarges herself to be the size of a small house and then knocks me down front first only to revert to her normal form and sitting on top me
"You do know that revenge will be mine right?" I ask, she doesn't seem to realize the precarious nature of her situation at the moment.
I grin within the armor and start cackling like a villain.
A shiver runs down and she gets off my back, trying to dart away but I command "Sit"
Due to the contract she is forced to sit still
"Now do you realize you messed up?" I ask grinning wickedly.
At this her fur stands on end but she is unable to lift her bottom of the ground no matter how much she tries.
"I have a task for you, with your abilities it shouldn't be a problem, so I want you to map out the city sewers for me. Pretty please" I say this and she just stares at me in abject horror
"Go" with the last command she is forced whether she likes it or not to explore as I tasked her to do.
Realizing that I am now alone, I try to push myself up but fail several times, so instead i start swaying myself with the armor managing to get on my side after which with great difficulty I manage to get up.
Knowing how heavy the armor is I debate on how I should get back at Varka. Then I remember, unlike the courtyard out here the floors inside are wooden. Unfortunately with this armor I am too big to fit through the normal door.
Sighing and through sheer pettiness I grit my teeth and start walking over to the outside door on the other side of the field after which I will have to go around all the way to the main entrance.
Time: 6:00 am
I start moving towards the other side
Time 6:30 am
I am a quarter there, exhausted but moving on pure pettiness
Time 7:00 am
I am halfway through when I see the first knights come in and completely ignore me, Varka likely told them not to help me.
Time 7:30 am
I am about 9/10 of the way to the door, my muscles ache, my head spins but I keep going.
Time 7:50 am
I make it to the door and am able to get outside
Time 8:30 am
I have passed 4 houses since leaving the training field. 36 more to go.
Time 9:00 am
I see Jean running around only to spot me in surprise and coming over, greeting her she informs me that she is only there to help me get some water, grateful I drink till I am full from the bottle and she leaves without another word.
Time 9:30 am
I have passed 10 houses in total, 30 to go.
Time 11:00 am
I have passed just about 20 houses when Jean shows up again bringing me water, unfortunately I have to go to the washroom, fortunately the suit for some reason has a specific function for this...
I am starting to think this isn't just a heavy armor suit.
Time 1:00 pm
I have passed 35 houses, I am unsure why but I seem to be recovering while also straining myself inside this suit.
Time 1:30 pm
I have reached the front gates only to see Jean waiting for me and again helping me drink water.
Curious I ask "Are you tasked with following me to ensure I don't die of dehydration?"
Her answer is a simple nod.
I then start going up the stairs which seems to startle the guards, I am relieved that they don't stop me.
Time 2:30 pm
God this armor is fucking impossible, it took me damn hour to get up 10 steps of the stairs.
Time 3:00 pm
I enter the building and am forced to slightly bend because otherwise the armor is too tall, this is by far the least pleasant thing my back has ever experienced.
Time 4:00 pm
I have walked to the stairs up to the second floor while leaving the Favounius knights crying at their expensive mahogany floor. Rich fuckers
Time 5:00 pm.
I have broken every stair of the main staircase and now am simply clawing my way up to the second floor so I can reach Varka's personal office.
Jean at this point is simply left stumped as without my knowledge everyone was told to not interfere with me no matter what
Time 6:00 pm
I have made it to outside Varka's office and am now just standing there while the knights below me desperately set up temporary pillars praying I don't fall.
Time 6:30 pm
I hear Varka finish up his paper work only for him to check outside and be surprised that I managed to leave out of his offices sight.
He then opens the door to leave his office only to receive a heavy metal fist and a deranged "FUCK YOU!!!"
My mission completed, punching Varka's face in, I fall backwards through the second floor, onto the first, breaking the first floor and ending up in the basement where I land into a whole bunch of golden shit breaking it in the process.
My hand still raised after the painful fall, a single finger is shown out of my fist, THE MIDDLE ONE B****.
Jean who I see on the second floor is almost crying, like thinking of the repair costs.
My eyesight starts wavering as my mission is complete and the pure adrenaline that allowed my madness starts fading away.
The Last thing I see is Varka, a red fist mark on his face looking down absolutely dumbfounded.
Now all I see is black.
