'While it is true that there are paintings of myself outside in the main hall that is not the case yet for Jean, yet you recognized her as well.' Said Varka still eyeing me with suspicion, then continues 'I doubt you are an outsider, you reasoned completely differently from the plane crew and you seem to have more common knowledge of Teyvat'
'Now answer me truthfully, whose faction are you with?' asks Varka now turning away
'The one that crash landed here not even a day ago' is my blunt response
'Okay then, want to play this game?' asks Varka rhetorically
Jean then brings the blade closer to my throat to the point I feel its edge, I of course recoil having never had this happen to me before.
'Next question, what is your association with the fatui?' asks Varka
'Who??' is the only response I give
"... Lisa. Please shock our new 'friend'" says varka after about a 30 second pause
Lisa who I hadn't even noticed being in the room before was about to come up to me and zap me but I spoke up first.
'Wait wait wait, can I please put some things down first? I don't really want them to get fried with me and potentially explode' I say quickly worried about my phone and headphones considering the information on them.
'What things?' asks Varka
'My phone and headphones, both electronic devices from my world' I say quickly a little worried over the potential loss
'Show them to me' says Varka
'...Okay' I say reluctantly reaching into my pocket and bringing out my phone and headphones
Varka picking up the, to him foreign devices and looking them over is surprised when the given time pops up on the screen of the phone as well as data and estimated temperature(home).
'This... is this akin to a watch' he asks lifting up the phone
'No but it does show the time, if you press the top button on the right side the screen will turn on' I answer a bit reluctant
Why should I let this mf touch my phone damn it, if only it was a choice.
Doing as I said he is surprised to find showing an image mostly black and white but with some color, he comments 'interesting, it indeed seems like something from outside of teyvat, but how do i know you didn't simply steal it off somebody?'
'The phone has a locking mechanism, it can be either opened by my fingerprint or through the password that I know' I answer now annoyed the meat head still didn't believe me.
Turning the phone around and around he seems to look for something and then says 'there doesn't seem to be any lock here, why do lie?'
My only response is a deadpan and to hold out my hand as if telling him lemme show ya.
Thinking it over for a moment he decide to hand the phone over after which I turn the screen on again and swipe up from the bottom.
After demonstrating the digital lock and showing photos from Earth, they seemed convinced. Then Arlecchino's fanart appeared on screen. Three blades were immediately at my throat.
"Why do you have a 'picture' of the 4th of the fatui harbingers." asks Varka now blatantly furious.
"Oh please might as well kill me now, you wouldn't believe me if I told you the truth' I say while just walking to the couch and sitting down, honestly I am surprised I wasn't immediately killed.
"Right, totally, why don't you try us?" says Lisa almost mockingly
"Well sure, it'll be your problem anyway" I say quite resigned
Then I start explaining I start off with my worlds internet, how people sought entertainment and how online games existed, then I am interrupted.
"Your world, right, totally, what does that world having anything to do with your involvement with the fatui" asks Jean now just annoyed
Ignoring the interruption I continue, how many of these games have different genres and ideas behind them, for example the game they would be interested in 'Genshin Impact".
'Stop, what difference does a game make to the conversati-" asks Varka but I interrupt.
This games setting, or well world that the game takes place in is called "Teyvat"
At this the other 3 in the room have their eyes widen, 'Teyvat, as in our Teyvat' asks Lisa now intrigued.
'Yes, your Teyvat. Divided into 7 regions, with 7 archons and all the jazz' Unfortunately the game didn't portray the scale of the world nearly well enough but that is outside the point' I say bluntly
"Now I was quite the fan of the game and so I played it until its latest update, and I had a lot of characters within the game, you see the characters in the game that were 'playable' weren't just random people with story relevance, no they were all vision holders. It is why I so easily recognized Jean as she was one of the playable characters' I continue quite bluntly
"Hell, on my phone I have a bunch of files on different characters because I was planning to write my own version of the game's official story" I say then continue "Jean is one of them, if you want I can show you the information on her".
'Y-you have information on me! that sounds like a fatui plot!' says Jean a bit embarrassed
Varka glances at Lisa with a silent nod and then says 'Go ahead'
Smirking I ask 'First how personal the details should I list?' looking specifically at Jean.
"Personal enough that others wouldn't k-know" was her answer even though she turned her face away.
Smirking I start reading from the file - her work ethic, her admiration for Vennessa, her secret trips to Windrise. Jean's face goes pale as I mention details only she would know. I then read out the juicier secret of her and Barbara as well as her great and profound interest in Romance novels including "Vera's Melancholy".
I was about to continue only for Varka to interrupt "Enough. You know things no outsider should."
Now I see Jean blushing at her secrets being exposed like that but Varka seems to notice things 'it seems that most of what you said is in the future.'
'Ah so no expedition to NodKrai yet?' I ask half joking
'That will be in 2 weeks' he answers bluntly
'Huh so not that far from the start of the game's story-' I nod understanding this
'You still haven't answered why you have a photo of the Knave' states Varka bluntly
'Oh that well, simply, she was a community favorite and one of my favorite characters especially considering she never truly wished harm unto ordinary people, hell if you ask me she, outside of maybe Capitano is the most reasonable Fatui Harbinger' I answer tiredly, my throat a bit dry from all the speaking
'I see, alright, if you supposedly have future information, what do you want for it', asks Varka bluntly
'Well, 1 I won't say everything in every detail simply because it might alter the future too much, 2 What I will say might only target to help specific people who I thought could have made better choices or lived better lives, 3 the information I give will be depending on what you are willing to give me for it.' I say while lounging not really caring since I doubt they would actually agree to knowing the future
'I want to know what you know of NodKrai, what are your conditions?' asks Varka, this jolts me up for I hadn't expected something like this.
'Train me, personally, then when you leave I want either Jean or Kaeya to train me in wielding a weapon, also I want a decent weapon that I would be able to use in adventuring as well as some financial aid for myself and my mom before we can start earning our own capital here in Mondstadt' I say, not believing all of my conditions would be accepted
Jean and Lisa both freeze and stare at me as if I am crazy, Varka just grins and speaks 'Those conditions are far from unacceptable, and to be honest it has been a while since I trained someone. I will enjoy this'
Realizing that this might be unpleasant I can only sigh and say "I will tell you each day more information on NodKrai's situation, but for now I ask that someone point out the road that leads to our temporary residence in Mondstadt, and if possible to have someone accompany so I can get something to eat at the new 'home'"
"I'll lead you" speaks up Jean before Varka says anything
Grunting he agrees but adds 'be here before sunrise tomorrow'
Jean escorted me to our new housing after a stop at Good Hunter. By the time I unpacked and checked the clock, it was 6:30 PM.
My Mom who had just noticed I was here was grateful that I was fine, it seems the situations stress had weighed far heavier than I initially thought, I hug her if only to try and calm her down.
I explain what happened and she is surprised that I was going to personally train under Varka and that at least for the moment we would receive additional money on top of the disaster relief funds the Mondstadt provided for its people.
The next thing I do is to separate all of my clothes into drawers and all that jazz. After which I decide to look at the books that were granted to me.
Before sitting down and reading however I first do a small prayer of thanks to death for her kindness.
Looking at the 3 books I'm presented with 3 options on what to read:
1. The Gacha Spell Book
2. Familiar Summoning 101 for modern day idiots
3. The Inventory Spell for Lazy Authors
Being a little weirded out by the chosen titles I decide to go with the seemingly most normal.
I open up the first book and start reading, time blurs and it is already 7:30pm. The book can be summarized as such: It has a gacha summoning spell inscribed into it that would need to be written out on paper on or on another surface to activate and the given formula acts like a portal so it can only summon items that are small enough or form fitted enough to the engraving.
For the basic formula that summons mostly ordinary Items not much is needed and only 200 Mora for each summon needs to be sacrificed. The higher tier the engraving the greater the required sacrifice. Having a higher tier circle only means the magic will target items with high innate power without care for what said power is.
I then choose to engrave this seal into my desk and while it is admittedly a bit sloppy it is functional enough. Sacrificing the required mora I activate it only to find an odd box with what I can only describe as an antenna on top.
My phone buzzes and I get the option to connect to the free wifi named 'Wifi le everywhere'.
Staring and emitting the greatest amount of wtf energy known to history I am simply dumbfounded at the absurdness.
Pressing to accept I am now greeted with 5G internet speeds and the condition that I have to pay 10,000 Mora each month for it to work and that it can support internet for up to 7 devices at the moment.
What the actual FUCK?!
Checking[1] if it works.... ya it works. Old world internet, perfect speeds and myself questioning reality as to how the hell this even happens.
Deciding to ignore this initial absurdity I decide to read the second book while moving the weird box to on top of the drawer, it didn't even have a power plug-
Reading the second book I find it has a similar system but the first summon only requires one Mora and a pair of running shoes(new condition is not required)....
Sacrificing my old pair of sneakers was far from unacceptable and after setting up another circle, now on the floor I start the circle.
Out pops a gray cat wearing a black cape with gold engravings and a hood, the cat's eyes are a piercing blue with hints of gold and purple. It is a big cat relatively the size of a Maine Coon and very fluffy to boot.
I then notice an odd coin on its neck, odd because it has 2 cat ears, had blue paint and a cheshire grin. Reaching out to look at the coin I notice that on the other side there is a name.
'Cifera... what a nice name' I say under my breath glad to have a cat in this new world as well.

Word Count: 2080~
A/N: This chapter took toooooo long! I had to re-write it like five times because I kept making it over 3k words which is something I am trying to avoid with this fic.
Powerstones are appreciated and comments are akin to a drug.
[1] Oh btw the box itself doesn't have any energy it simply is able to absorb ambient elemental energy(electro) to power itself. It is total BS I know, you do not need to tell me it
