One such classmate sent her a message, informing her that they were arranging a celebration party before the final exams. Being in their senior year, she didn't understand why they would want to party before they even take the exams.
Nevertheless, she wasn't the one footing the bill. As for why someone like her who had dropped out in her first semester was invited. She could only think about a few reasons. Nonetheless, she didn't feel very scared this time upon getting the invitation. Rather, she looked forward to it.
She was truly curious what these people with nothing to do wanted to do. besides, without working where would she find her source of entertainment. So, she decided to inform the classmate that she would attend and the classmate was very happy.
That classmate didn't hesitate but sent the reply in the group, making several people to have different thoughts.
[Oh! She is finally willing to attend?]
[I am curious what gave her the confidence.]
[Anyway guys, it's been a while since we saw our class beauty. Mind your manners!]
[Haha, class beauty, my ass!]
Amabel had no clue to what her former classmates were saying but what she didn't know was that when Susan saw that she was coming, hurriedly made a call and by the time she was done, the smile on her face never diminished.
As for Amabel, after dealing with the invitation, she sent Marjorie a text.
[Marjorie, when you see my text. Call me, okay? I hope that you are doing well!]
As a friend, Amabel felt very sorry and guilty towards her best friend. If it wasn't for her, then Marjorie wouldn't have boarded this pirate ship with her. now she didn't even know where her friend was and how she was faring.
She could only leave it to fate. Since that place could match her with a man like Valentine, then Marjorie should be doing well, right?
Hoping for the better, Amabel who hadn't had a normal sleep ever since she met Valentine, decided to sleep early and prepare for a new dawn.
The night passed very quickly and she slept soundly until she woke up normally.
After rising up, she went to wash up and changed into floral maxi dress that reached her knees and a pair of sandals.
The rainy season was almost upon them and she felt compelled to spoil herself with sandals lest she end up unable to wear them because of the heavy rains later.
After dolling herself, she went downstairs and found Aunt Miriam already in the kitchen.
"Good morning, Miss Amabel," Aunt Miriam greeted politely, a smile on her face.
As Amabel took her seat, she smiled back at Aunt Miriam and returned the greeting. A few moments later, breakfast was served; a bowl of congee accompanied by several side dishes. Breakfast was sumptuous and left her with a full belly.
Once done, she went back to her room only to find the place already squeaky clean. She freshened up and sprayed some cologne and applied some lip balm before picking the handbag she had prepared earlier.
Done with her preparations, she took her Porsche keys and headed out after bidding farewell to Aunt Miriam.
She took the private elevator to the basement.
Ding.
The elevator reached the basement and she exited; her eyes fixated on that blue car of hers.
Ding.
As she walked in that direction, the sound of another elevator opening sounded and Amabel couldn't help but be curious about whoever was coming out and from which floor.
From what she knew about Dwelling Delight Towers, that's the place where she was living currently. There were three towers in total, with a total of thirty floors. Each tower has six penthouses with two penthouses on each floor. From the twenty-eighth floor to the top floor. The penthouse she was living in was on the twenty-nineth floor and the basement parking only houses cars for these six penthouses.
So, it was pretty normal to bump into these rich neighbors. It's just that, it was not easy to bump into each other unless they were that close enough to visit each other.
Amabel didn't know who else lives here and what kind of people they were. But she knew one thing, all of them were better than her. So, she will either make friends or just keep to herself. She won't make herself suffer or grovel just to integrate.
Although she was curious, she didn't show much curiosity but nonetheless managed to steal a peek at the people exiting the elevator.
There were three young ladies, dressed fashionably and judging from the way they were animatingly talking, she could tell that they were trouble.
Amabel upon sensing that, ignored them and minded her own business and shortly reached her car.
In a few moments, the blue car was speeding away and the three ladies saw her naturally.
"Who is she?"
"I have never seen her before. Do you know which elevator she got out from?"
"Let us check and see!"
Unfortunately, Amabel underestimated the curiosity of others.
In a matter of moments, they have found the elevator. It was the only one, apart from theirs that showed that was showing the B button since no one had recalled it to its floor.
"Oh! Agnes, do you know who lives on the twenty-ninth floor?" a young lady wearing a fiery red dress asked the one who was wearing a green jumpsuit.
Agnes shook her head as her brows were furrowed, trying to think about who the other person might be.
"She looks around our age. How about you ask your brother later? He might know," the other girl in blue suggested and Agnes's eyes lit up.
"Sure, I will check with my brother later and see."
Whoever could afford to stay in such places meant that they were either well off or they were very bold.
It wasn't easy to meet girls around their age, so they were curious for many reasons. As for what they would do with the answer, that would depend with what they get.
Anyway, Amabel was clueless about that. She left the complex and drove straight to the Fortune Plaza. However, on her way, she sent a quick message to Valentine, not forgetting that he was her sponsor.
She didn't know if she should call him or not. After all, he might be with his wife, children, family or at work.
She knew nothing about him yet and she didn't want to put herself into trouble because of her rashness.
What she didn't know was that the moment the text entered, Valentine whom she hadn't seen in ages was in the middle of a meeting.
When the phone pinged with a message, he knew who it was instantly.
Without caring about the manager in the middle of presenting, he clicked on the message and an amused smile appeared on his face as he inwardly thought, 'I thought you didn't know how to use your phone!'
Otherwise, why wouldn't she contact him when she has his number?
