Chapter 4 - Enthusiastic

Anaerah's eyes opened as she woke up from her slumber, she looked at the dark ceiling of the carriage with a confused hazy gaze.

Then...as if remembering something she jerked up and sat with a startled sound. She had just remembered being crashed into a stranger and then being struck by a bolt of purple lightning.

Startled and confused she looked around, only to see the dark, heavy scene of multiple children unconscious in front of her. As she came to her senses, she noticed the foul smell almost making her hurl.

"Ugh."

Panicked consumed her instantly, as her heart beat fastened. Though, she somehow controlled it cause of the stranger in front of her.

"W-Where am i?" She asked startled.

"Calm down, you are safe atleast...for now."

Those words, of course didn't calm her however she didn't let it show on her face. Looking at him, her head tilted lightly to the side as he long hair spilled on her shoulder.

Ding

Though, her thought process was broken by a slight chime of something foreign in her mind.

*****

Zyrus watched as Anaerah was going through the process same as him, though unlike him she seem much more calm, which soon changed.

As, she suddenly clutched her head tightly. It seems that the memory integration had started. Her eye's closed as she clutched her head tightly.

Minutes, passed as she writhed. Only muffled voices escaped her mouth, as she had also put her hand on her mouth for not letting any sound escape.

It continued for five more minutes, then stopped as she breathed deeply. Zyrus didn't say anything letting her be, for a moment. It was something he had gone through and understood after all.

Then, Anaerah raised her finger in the empty air...well empty to everyone other than Zyrus who could see the translucent screen in from of her.

He watched as a plethora of many different emotions flowed through her face, it was an... interesting sight to see at the least.

Then, he saw her finally glancing at him, it seems she is done with watching it all.

Anaerah also raised her body, which had fell unknowingly when, she was assaulted by the pain of memory integration.

"Elizabeth GoldShade, huh." She mumbled lightly then raised her head to finally look at the one bound to her.

In front of her, was a boy seemingly not looking any older than her.

Black, messy hair as dark as midnight without any celestial body in the sky, fell on his face almost covering his whole eyes and hiding half of his face.

They were also mared with blood as some of them stick to his forehead.

His stature was also different. His figure was sickly as a stick, as if he hadn't eaten in days. His skin a almost glowing white, making the bruses and cuts on his body easily visible.

Then there was his eyes.

Those eyes... those amethyst eyes were like the purest of beautiful sapphires. However that wasn't all, swirling in those sapphires orbs, was a tri-colour blend of gold, white and blue.

It was as if the sole purpose of those eyes was to make people trap and entranced in them for the longest of eternity.

And they probably would have if not for the fact that they looked... dead.

Yes, his eyes looked dead, not the cold and icy one or something like emotionless no..they simply were dead.

As if the person in front of her didn't value life much.

'How very useless.' She couldn't help but thought.

Though she was interrupted by the calm voice of boy in front of her.

"You do know that staring at someone like that is rude, right?" He said.

"Uhm..ah, i wasn't staring just looking." She said losing her composure slightly in the haze of confusion and getting caught.

"Oh, yeah. That didn't look like just looking." The boy spoke as, he moved behind towards the wall of carriage and sat leaning on it.

"Is that so? Then, wasn't it you who was also doing the same thing when i woke up." She spoke with an confident certainty in her voice.

Zyrus raised his eyebrow, at her words.

"Oh, how can you be so sure about that?" He asked a slight hint of curiosity in his voice.

"Well, it's kind of an instinct thingy that had come to me naturally on earth, though it seemed that it had followed me even here?" She said with a wistful slight smile.

At earth, Anaerah was an popular idol. That's why she had developed a strange type of instict, so that she knows when someone what staring at her.

That's why she can tell that Zyrus was staring at her, even when she had just woken up.

"How fascinating." He commented at her words.

"What?" She asked.

"Well, actually everything including your instinct thingy to. In just a single hour, everything of our life have been changed. You are the daughter of the biggest merchant organisation and a high noble of the Kingdom. While I am just a bullied servant working in your extravagant castle, not even a simple awakened. Fascinating right?"

"It is, i guess...." She spoke then after a moment of solemn silence she continued.

"So what should we do about this?" Anaerah said.

"Well, you are stronger than this little old me, you know. So i will let you decide and follow you." Zyrus said smiling slightly though Anaerah could tell that he was annoyed by it.

"Oh, yeah. Then what about this quest." She asked.

Zyrus sighed.

"Can't i just skip it." Zyrus said.

This time it was Anaerah's turn to raise an eyebrow, it seems she was right.

"Quite nicely enthusiastic, i see but can you now?" She said sarcastically.

"Why not there's no penalty?" He answered not minding her sarcasm and open the quest screen again.
