Chapter 6 - Say My Dear Bond-1

Fwip

Zyrus's body fell, with a low thud on the hard ground. A nauseating feeling born from teleporting for the first time assaulted him, as his senses fluctuated.

Though, this time he couldn't hold it in.

"Uwag" He hurled on the ground, his stomach aching both from the inside and outside.

"Haa haa." After emptying whatever was in his stomach for sometime and catching his breath, he finally calmed down and looked where he was.

Looking around, he found himself in a hall like chamber made of dark obsidian stone. The stone below him feeling cold to touch.

The whole hall was lined up with multiple fire torches lighting it up, in a fiery dark glow. A lond red carpet laid on front of him as if welcoming him.

Though, there was one thing or rather one person was missing. He looked around however couldn't find Anaerah anywhere, not like he needed someone to see his state, right now.

[Host..]

'Don't think about it... don't think about it, it wasn't your fault he would have killed you, if you didn't have.'

[Host..]

Zyrus, right now was a perfect mess. For a teenage mind, it was too much, too much pain...too much emotions.

[Host..]

Whatever is happening, he needed a break however it seemed that the world was especially cruel today.

"What is it?" He snapped finally, as he roared and continued.

"Just what the fuck do you want from me? Why are you even doing this?...damn it." He shouted, his voice cracking.

For a moment, the system hesitated then in a rather somber tone, it spoke almost gently.

[Don't lose yourself, Zyrus. It wasn't a choice but a necessity...so don't blame yourself. Calm down because the your trial is still not finished.]

"Haha, you fucking bitch. Look at you trying to console me, when all you want is just me too move forward." He laughed darkly.

He was furious, he was furious at system..however he was also furious at himself.

Yes, he was angry with himself. He was angry because he wasn't strong enough and needed pity of this fucking screen in front of him.

"Fuck" He punched at the ground, as the dull sound of bones hitting stone rang in the silent hall.

A sharp pain, rang upto his arm. However, he didn't react, neither did he groaned nor did he spoke a word. For some moments, he was silent as if contemplating.

Then, with a push he stood up.

He had decided....

Looking at the translucent screen in front of him, he spoke.

"So, what did you mean by those last words of yours?" He asked, his tone void of any emotions.

[It's just as I said, your trial is still continuing for claiming the zero'th legacy...please move forward.]

The system finished.

Zyrus without saying a word moved towards the halls however just as his first step landed on the red carpet. His vision blurred, his brain rattling in his mind.

The next moment, blood came out of his nose, as few drops of crimson fell on the same coloured carpet. He felt an unexplainable sense of weakness, unlike ever.

Though he somehow managed to stay on his feet.

"Wh-what? Is it already started?" Confused, he looked at the screen.

[No, host. Your condition is like this because of mana poisoning. Your Unawakened body is just simply too weak to be able to withstand the extreme mana density of the chambers. That was also the reason why I was hurrying you to move.]

Step

"I see." He spoke then wiping the blood from his nose, he moved quickly.

Step

However, halfway on the carpet. He had to stop to take a breather. The carpet was not as simple as he had thought.

It seems that the father he moved on it, the pressure around him increases sappi g his strength like a sponge soaking water.

Step

However, he continued one step...two steps...ten steps..his knees buckled.

Twenty more steps, it felt like he was wearing shoes of lead or metal, as his legs felt ridiculously heavy.

Yet, he didn't stop.

If there was one thing about Zyrus that made totally different from everyone around him...it was his resolve.

Once he had decided on something, no matter what do you do, no matter what amount of pain and agony he had to withstand he wouldn't bow down.

And right before starting this walk, Zyrus had resolved himself of something... something that will change his life forever.

The boy continued to move forward, without even letting any sound out. The pressure on him increased so much that he felt like he was carrying heavy weights on his shoulders.

Blood flowed furiously through his nose and yet he didn't stop.

Finally, he reached the gate that stood at the end of the corridor of the chamber. It was a gaint gate seemingly made of the same obsidian stone that the whole chamber was made of.

Various engraving and enchantments etched on the gaint gate, glowing in blue from the mana. Even the handle was as long as his whole arm length.

It was pretty obvious, that there was no way Zyrus could even make the gate budge. Though he didn't need to as system spoke at the next moment.

[Put your hand in the handle and they will open automatically.]

He did just as he was told. He put his hands on the handles feeling the cold touch of the stone. The blue engravings flared up as if acknowledging him.

Creak

With a loud stony creak, the gaint gates opened.

Zyrus's eyes widened slightly, as he looked at the inside. Going inside, he took a good look at the grand hall.

The hall was grand, bright flares of blue fire roared all around on the large pillars, painting the whole hall, in a solemn shade of silence.

Inside of it, in the farthest end stood three pillars seemingly made of mana barriers. In those three pillars Zyrus, could see the shadow of some objects.

However, his whole attention shifted to figure standing in the middle of the hall, pure shivers of cold dread running down his spine.

There in the middle of the hall, stood a lone knight.
