Two days later.
After a final lunch at home, Xie Xie headed toward his new school, Donghai Intermediate Academy, accompanied by Xu Xiaoyan. Compared to the elementary campus, the intermediate academy was a titan of architecture. Not only was the campus nearly ten times larger, but it also integrated the Advanced Academy, creating a sprawling hub of soul master development.
Unlike the elementary level, this was primarily a residential academy, though as local elites, the move-in process was a mere formality.
"Xie Xie, Xu Xiaoyan..."
Director Long Hengxu processed their enrollment personally. His voice, usually gruff and bureaucratic, softened significantly as he slid two sets of uniforms and room cards across the desk.
"You are assigned to Grade One, Class One. Your dormitories are 209 and 608. Welcome to Donghai."
"Thank you, Director Long," Xie Xie said politely.
As they left, Long Hengxu stared at the closed door, his heart hammering. Martial Soul: Time-Space Dragon King. Level 29 Spirit Grandmaster! He could already see it—the championship trophy of the Tianhai Alliance Grand Competition was practically within Donghai Academy's grasp.
"I'm afraid Teacher Ye won't be enough to guide a monster like that," Long Hengxu mused, a sharp light in his eyes. "Perhaps I need to invite that man to take over Class One."
The dormitory building was a twelve-story tower: the first six floors for boys, the upper six for girls.
"Brother Xie Xie, I'll see you in class. I'm going to go unpack!" Xu Xiaoyan waved as the elevator reached the third floor.
"See you later, Xiao Yan."
Xie Xie found room 209 and pushed the door open. He expected to see a stranger—perhaps Tang Wulin—but instead, a familiar voice greeted him from the top bunk.
"Boss! You finally made it!" Wei Xiaofeng grinned down at him.
On the balcony, Zhang Yangzi and Wang Jinxi stopped unpacking to wave. "Looks like the four of us are roommates again."
Xie Xie chuckled. "The school director actually listened to you?"
"Who didn't know the 'Donghai F4' back at the elementary school?" Wei Xiaofeng boasted. "The director asked if we wanted to stay together, and obviously, we said yes."
"This is better," Xie Xie said, setting his bag down. "At least I don't have to break in a new roommate."
"Don't get too comfortable, Boss," Wei Xiaofeng teased. "We know you'll still be spending all your time with Sister Xiaoyan. We're just your 'backup' brothers."
Grade One, Class One.
When the four of them entered the classroom, Xu Xiaoyan was already seated in the second row by the window. She waved enthusiastically, and Xie Xie naturally took the seat beside her.
A short while later, a girl walked into the room. She wore simple light-blue clothes, but her temperament was anything but simple. She had a cool, expressionless face and an extraordinary aura that made the air around her feel... balanced.
Xie Xie's brow furrowed. He felt a profound sense of familiarity emanating from her.
"Brother Xie Xie? What's wrong?" Xu Xiaoyan whispered, noticing his intense focus.
"It's nothing, Xiao Yan. Just a thought." Xie Xie shook his head, but his mental force was already scanning the back row where the girl had sat. That aura... was it possible?
A green-haired woman walked to the podium, a confident smile on her face. "Teacher Ye Yingluo. I will be your homeroom teacher for the next six years. My goal is to turn you into the elite of the elite."
She looked at her roster, her eyes gleaming. She had the highest-rated class in the history of the academy, and she intended to use them to prove her worth to the man who had once rejected her.
"Let's begin with self-introductions. Name, Martial Soul, and Rank."
The students began to speak. The class was indeed high-level; most were between Rank 14 and 18.
"Zhu Zhuxia, Vajra Lock, Level 17."
"Li Xiaogang, Earth Boar King, Level 18."
"Zhao Wuji, Golden-Haired Lion, Level 18. My dream is to be as strong as the Shrek Dean from the legend!"
Then, it was the F4's turn. Wei Xiaofeng stood up, his voice smug. "Wei Xiaofeng, Green Shadow Snake, Level 21 Spirit Grandmaster."
The room gasped. A nine-year-old Grandmaster was unheard of. But the shock didn't stop there.
"Zhang Yangzi, Dark Demon Eagle, Level 21."
"Wang Jinxi, Bone Dragon King, Level 21."
The classroom erupted. Three Grandmasters in one class! This was a historical anomaly. But then, Xie Xie stood up.
"Xie Xie, Time-Space Dragon King. Level 29 Attack System Spirit Grandmaster."
The silence that followed was absolute. Level 29? He was one step away from becoming a three-ring Spirit Elder before even starting intermediate school.
"Xu Xiaoyan, Star Wheel Ice Staff, Level 19," she added quickly, sitting back down.
The introductions continued until they reached the last row. The black-haired girl stood up, her voice calm and cold.
"Gu Yue. Martial Soul: Elemental Envoy."
Xie Xie leaned forward. It was her. But it was her next words that sent a jolt of shock through his heart.
"Level 29 Control System Spirit Grandmaster."
Xie Xie's pupils dilated. Level 29? In the original timeline, she wasn't this strong at this age. It seemed the Silver Dragon King had decided to stop playing around and had boosted her human avatar's cultivation to match his own.
The wager between the two halves of the Dragon God had officially moved to the classroom floor.
