Chapter 10 - 10 years later.

Hello, quick reminder: the reason why I'm jumping 10 years into the future is simply to get to the main story.

Worry not, the main story won't be as fast, and the past chapters were mainly for backstory. Enjoy.

---

It's been about 14 years since I've arrived in this world, and I've come to realize that a lot of the world's history drastically changed and/or simply doesn't exist.

For instance, there wasn't anything like a world war, and a certain mustached man never declared war on the planet.

Instead, he was a rather famous painter that rivaled even the likes of Van Gogh.

But enough of history. Mezo-san and I were currently walking back home from school.

Mezo-san, as usual, wore his proper uniform with the sleeves ripped off, since people don't really sell clothes for people with multiple arms, and it was rather expensive to buy multiple clothes that were custom-made for him.

Fortunately for me, though, I didn't have this problem, since I didn't really have multiple arms and basically looked rather normal. Despite the absence of eyes, ears, and having wings on my face, I looked rather normal.

Mezo-san and I left quite early today, since both of us were going to apply to UA. It was Japan's most prestigious school that trained most, if not all, of the pro heroes currently here.

Most of the students that applied for the hero course usually don't make it past the physical exam, since it was rather demanding.

So if you don't have a strong offensive quirk, it'll be pretty difficult to enter.

But Mezo-san and I are sure to ace it, since we've been training and mastering our quirks ever since we were just kindergartners.

Using his quirk and pushing it to its limit, Mezo-san could summon about 30 arms and use them to deliver a devastating blow.

It does have the downside of consuming too much stamina, and in most cases, whenever we get into fights with the bullies in school, he only needs to use his usual six arms to scare or teach them a lesson.

I, on the other hand, have a much different approach in handling bullies. I simply stand in front of the person they're tormenting and block every single blow they deliver.

This usually works fine, since when Mezo-san and I were training and I asked him to hit me with his full force, he compared it to hitting a large concrete building.

Safe to say, hitting me was rather painful for anyone who didn't have super strength. Of course, this didn't stop the rather thick-headed bullies with strong quirks from trying to fight me to gain more reputation in the school.

But try as they may, their attacks simply didn't affect me.

Now people might ask, why don't I just hit them back and be done with it? Well, I tried that once before, and well… let's just say the guy I punched won't be walking anymore.

That's why I usually just let Mezo-san deal with them, since he has more control over his strength than I do.

As Mezo-san and I finally made it back home to change clothes and apply for UA online, we both dapped each other up before entering our respective homes.

After entering the house, I was faintly greeted by the smell of fresh flowers. Mother must have been in the garden again.

Placing my bag on the couch, I walked towards the corner of the house where the tree Mother had summoned was now about four meters tall.

On one of the branches, Rika was silently sleeping, and for the past 10 years she had visibly grown and changed.

For one, she was about as large as an anaconda and could probably swallow a small child if she wanted to.

Her scales were much harder than regular snakes, and whenever she shed, the scales would always catch on fire.

So whenever it was time for her to shed, Mother would always place her inside the bathtub to make sure the house didn't catch on fire.

Picking the sleeping Rika up and placing her around my neck, she seemed to stir a bit in her sleep and awaken.

"Hey girl, sorry for waking you up," I told Rika and began petting her side.

She simply yawned at me before fully awakening and coiled around my neck tighter to make sure she didn't slip off.

Once she was secure, I began making my way towards the kitchen to get a big chunk of meat to feed her.

Once I was in the kitchen, I noticed that Mother had left a Post-it note on the fridge with something written on it.

Moving closer and grabbing it, I began reading what it said.

Hey baby, if you're reading this I'm probably still out selling the rare ginseng I grew, along with the complementary flowers that come with it.There's some leftovers by the counter, just heat it up and I'll be back before you know it. Love, Mommy!

Chuckling at her usual happy demeanor, I grabbed the piece of meat from the fridge and moved towards the counter to grab my dinner.

Once I had everything, I carried it all back to the dining room and placed the meat, leftovers, and Rika on the table.

Sitting down, I opened the packed food and saw it was just leftover pasta. I was about to eat until I realized I forgot to bring utensils.

Sighing in annoyance, I quickly made my way back into the kitchen and then back to finally eat my meal.

Rika ate beside me and was thoroughly devouring the giant piece of meat, and I sat there eating beside her.

After finally finishing my meal and Rika finishing hers, I carried her and my dishes to the sink and quickly cleaned them.

Once I finished cleaning up, I walked back to the living room and placed Rika back on her tree to rest. After doing that, I grabbed my bag from the couch before making my way upstairs to my room.

Opening the door, I was greeted by my rather… bland room. It didn't really have much in terms of decoration, but that wasn't really my main focus.

No, the main attraction here was the incredibly comfy bed that felt like you were sleeping on clouds. It was incredibly large to fit my rather large stature, since I was basically as tall as All Might now.

But the bed itself wasn't the best part. No, the best part was the gaming rig Mother had bought me ever since she got her first check selling exotic herbs.

I won't go too deep on how fast the rig was; just know it could run basically anything without experiencing any frame drops.

Moving towards my PC, I sat down in front of my rig and booted it up. As always, it powered up rather quickly, and I got to work filling in UA's website for the hero course.

Once I was almost done, all I needed to do was hit enter, and I'd finally finish.

Tap.

It's done. Now all I have to do is wait.
