Once inside, Toji sat on one of the sofas in the living room and began searching for answers. From what he could gather, the girl was either younger than him or the same age.
He tried searching her pockets for anything that would allow him to get more information and learn about her, but came up with nothing.
As of now, Toji was on his phone looking up missing persons reports to see if she looked similar to any of them. Of course, he would have taken her to the proper authorities if he could, but from how she reacted, he didn't think she would want that.
Speaking of which, where was the girl currently? Well, she was inside one of the guest rooms and was currently being taken care of by Miss Higure.
At first, she was ecstatic that her son had finally found a girlfriend, but that really didn't last long. Toji quickly explained the situation, and with a frown on her face, she told Toji to bring the girl upstairs so she could take care of her.
She had been unconscious for quite a while now and didn't seem to show any signs of waking up.
Higure did her best to clean the girl up as well as she could, even giving her some of her old clothes so she had something clean to wear. Her old clothes were simply too filthy for her to wear any further.
Once she had finished cleaning her up, she left the room and headed back down to the living room to Toji.
"I've cleaned her up as best as I could. Poor girl, her clothes were all dirty and covered in blood. Who knows how long she's been living on the streets," Higure said, sitting down beside Toji.
"Do you think she'll wake up soon?" Toji asked his mother.
"Most likely. Despite her state, she's well-fed, and it doesn't look like she passed out from exhaustion either." Higure then looked toward Toji. "Toji, when you said she passed out in your arms… what was the reason?" she asked.
"Well, I was going to take her to the police department, but she suddenly started panicking. She said something about not wanting to go back to the hospital as well."
"Well, whatever the case, we need to help her. Why don't you watch her for now while I go out and buy her some proper clothes? Those old clothes don't really suit her."
"Alright, Mother," Toji said, putting his phone into his pocket before walking toward the kitchen to grab a bag for his mother to use.
"Thank you, son," she said, getting up and grabbing the bag before heading toward the door. "Just bring some food upstairs with you. She'll probably be hungry when she wakes up, and you should grab a bite for yourself. I won't be long." She then opened the door and left, putting her son in charge of the girl.
Once Higure had left the house, Toji made his way to the dining room, where he saw multiple meals on display and a letter placed on top of a cake that had a depiction of All Might on the base.
Curious, Toji grabbed the letter off the All Might cake before opening it and reading its contents.
"Dear Toji Fushiguro,
We would like to congratulate you on passing the UA entrance exams and achieving the highest grades in both the practical and written exams! Please await further instructions, as we will be sending you your uniform. Kindly go to www.uaclothing.com to send us your size. Once again, we would like to congratulate you for achieving such an amazing feat, and we look forward to seeing your future achievements."
"Damn, I actually made it in. I mean, I knew I was getting in, but… now that I was actually accepted… man."
At that very moment, the young Toji felt a great sense of pride and relief swell within him. Despite always telling himself he would pass and get in, a small part of him had always thought he wasn't good enough.
But now, reading the letter and finding out he was not only accepted but had passed with flying colors, he was simply elated.
Placing the letter back down on the table, he was about to get two plates for himself and the girl upstairs when he suddenly heard footsteps from behind him.
Looking back, he saw the girl, now wearing his mother's old clothes, drooling at the food.
"Do you… want to eat?" Toji asked the girl.
She nodded.
He led her toward the table filled with food and gave her a chair to sit on. Once she was seated, he grabbed two plates and some utensils for them to use.
"Here," he said, placing the plate in front of her and handing her the utensils.
As she stared at the mountain of different foods in front of her, she looked up at the towering Toji with wide eyes.
"What?" Toji asked, sitting down across from her.
"Can I really eat this?" she asked.
"Go nuts," he said before grabbing a handful of rice and placing it on his plate.
With a wide smile, she began grabbing anything her little arms could reach, eating like she hadn't eaten in forever.
As she continued to eat, Toji watched her and finally started asking questions.
"So… what's your name?"
"Toga!" she answered, her mouth full of
meat.
"Okay, Toga. Let's talk."
