Milan was running as fast as he could, dodging people and vampires left and right. The streets were chaotic, with cars crashed and people screaming. It was almost dark, and the streets reeked of blood and death. He slowed down, trying to find some water, and spotted a mini market nearby, abandoned. He walked inside and started helping himself, packing food and a few bottles of water into his backpack.
The streets outside looked quiet, and darkness was taking over. "I have to make camp here tonight," he whispered to himself. "Oh God, I hope my sister is still fine and well, wherever she is," he prayed, his eyes closed.
He secured the area, placing two small bells on the table as an alert system. He shut down the curtains, checking outside for any movement. Sitting down, he checked his gun - 10 bullets left out of 15. "This will do," he muttered, exhausted. Tired from running, he slowly closed his eyes and fell asleep.
Meanwhile, Zero and Dr. Patel were making their way through the deserted corridors of the hospital. The eerie quiet was broken only by occasional screams or growls. "We're almost there," Dr. Patel said, her voice steady.
Zero nodded, and they reached Ayanna's room. Dr. Patel unlocked the door, and inside, Ayanna lay peacefully, hooked up to machines. Dr. Patel quickly checked her vitals, relief washing over her face.
"Hello, Sleeping Beauty," Zero said with a smirk.
"She's stable, but we need to wake her up," Dr. Patel said. Zero nodded, watching as Dr. Patel prepared a syringe.
"We need to administer this antidote, and she should be fine," Dr. Patel explained.
As the antidote took effect, Ayanna's eyes flickered open, and she gasped. "Ayanna!" Dr. Patel exclaimed, smiling.
Ayanna looked around, confused. "What's...what's happening?"
"A lot has happened, my dear," Dr. Patel said, starting to explain everything. Ayanna's eyes welled up with tears.
"What about my brother?"
"We didn't hear anything from outside the hospital yet. The streets are overrun by vampires. If he's still alive, I'm sure he's somewhere safe," Dr. Patel replied.
"He's alive, and he'll come for me because he promised me," Ayanna said, determination in her voice.
Zero interrupted, "Doc, you wanted to do something. We don't have much time. It's night, and we need to get back with food."
Ayanna nodded, still disoriented. Zero helped her sit up, and she looked at him with curious eyes. "You...you're the one from the elevator. I remember you, Zero, right?"
Zero smiled. "Yeah, that's me. You're safe now. I'll protect you until you reunite with your brother."
Dr. Patel handed Zero a backpack. "Ayanna, I need to take your blood sample and study it."
Ayanna nodded, extending her arm. Dr. Patel took five bottles of blood.
As they prepared to leave, Zero glanced outside and saw a huge vampire with an angry face and fangs, blood dripping from his mouth, walking towards them.
"Doc, whatever you're doing, make it quick," Zero said.
Dr. Patel looked up, shocked. "Liam? My God, that's my nurse."
Ayanna gasped, scared. "Not anymore, Doc. You have to pack whatever you need. We'll do your research at the mini hall," Zero said.
Liam, the vampire, started staring at them through the glass, a slow smile spreading across his face. Zero was shocked. "Is that bastard just smiled at us?"
"He can't get inside here, the glass is too heavy," Dr. Patel said.
Liam hit the wall, hard, causing cracks to appear. "Well, it's time we leave now!" Zero exclaimed.
They grabbed the backpacks, and Zero helped Ayanna to her feet. "Come on, there's a back exit," Dr. Patel said.
As they escaped, Liam broke through the glass, throwing a steel table at them. Zero pushed Ayanna and Dr. Patel away, taking the hit. Liam charged at them, but Zero managed to kick him back.
"Go, now!" Zero shouted to Dr. Patel. "What about you?"
"I'll catch up. I have to slow this bastard down and erase your tracks."
Dr. Patel and Ayanna fled as Zero faced Liam. "So it's me and you, big guy."
Zero picked up an iron rod, and they clashed.
Dr. Patel and Ayanna hid in a nearby room, hearing vampires approaching. They kept quiet, and after a while, the vampires passed.
Zero joined them, tired and covered in blood. "My God, what happened?" Dr. Patel asked.
"Don't worry, it's not my blood, Doc," Zero said, smiling, before fainting.
"What now?" Ayanna asked.
"We wait until he wakes up," Dr. Patel replied.
Ayanna found clothes in the room - a black outfit and boots. She changed, looking like a vampire hunter.
"You look like a vampire hunter," Dr. Patel said, and Ayanna smiled.
Back at the mini market, Milan was in a deep sleep when the bells fell from the door. He woke up, gun drawn, and saw a woman standing behind him, a sword at his neck.
"Please don't make any sound. You scream, I slit your throat. You pull that trigger, you alert every nearby vampire. I will still slit your throat and leave you to them. Am I clear?"
Milan nodded, dropping his gun. The woman released him and took off her hood, revealing a beautiful face.
Milan was surprised, eyes wide. "Who...who are you?" he stammered.
