Alex was being treated, and all the bullets had been removed from his body.
"This will help to keep out the infections," a girl named Ivory said to him while bandaging his wound.
Alex was quiet, looking at her.
Ayanna was sitting with Zara.
"How are you feeling now, Zara?"
"I'm okay."
"You know, you shouldn't do something like that again. You had me worried. Do you remember the last thing I told you before going to my surgery?"
"You told me to wish you good luck."
"Yes, that's it. Now, I need you to promise me one thing, okay? Promise me that from now on, even if things get bad, you will always stick by my side, no matter what, okay? If you do that, then I promise to find your mother with you."
Zara stared at Ayanna. "But Alex told me that she is dead."
"Zara, did you see your mother dead? No, right? Then that means she's still alive somewhere out there. Think about it. If we found these survivors, then there's a chance of finding another group of survivors, and who knows, maybe your mother will be there too."
Zara hugged Ayanna tightly. Zero was staring at them.
Marcus showed up, seeing the look on Zero's face while staring at Ayanna.
"Do you think a world of love still exists?" Marcus asked Zero.
"What are you talking about?"
"It's all over your face. You have something for Ayanna. Tesh her before she gets bitten."
Zero looked at Marcus.
"Come with me. I need to show you something."
Marcus took Zero inside his office, where there was another door leading downstairs to the parking lot. Zero saw five vans, well-prepared and ready to close every possible opening.
"What is this?" Zero asked, shocked.
"We plan to leave this place as soon as we can. I didn't know there would be any survivors out there. How many did you get?"
"12 survivors since we left."
"It's enough for 5 vans. We leave in two days, tonight, just as soon as the sun goes down. We plan to make it clean and quiet. You should hurry up and get your people here as soon as possible."
"Where do you think we would go out there? By now, the whole of England is filled with vampires, if I'm not mistaken."
"We're going to the countryside, looking for a huge area of campgrounds, start over, and wipe all these monsters once and for all."
"Thank you for the offer. I will make sure to deliver as soon as possible, and we will be here."
They started walking back, seeing Alex was well fixed and Zara had finished eating. Ivory showed up to Marcus.
"The vampires have cleared the way," she told him.
Zero called Zara, Ayanna, and Alex.
"I told Zero something I hope you will consider. Now, as I promised, follow me." Marcus spoke.
He took them to a store filled with weapons and ammunition.
"Now, this is what I'm talking about," Alex said, going inside and choosing weapons.
"How many are we allowed to take?" Zero asked Marcus.
"As much as you can carry, if you want, but just remember, once you use those weapons, you will attract every nearby vampire. Make sure to save it unless you don't have a choice."
"Will do," Zero said. Ayanna didn't want any weapons, as she had the knives given by Alex; it was enough for her. Alex chose a machine gun with lots of ammunition.
Marcus looked at him. "Be careful with this one. He might turn against you one day," Marcus said to Zero and Ayanna while Alex looked at him.
Zero chose two silver swords and four small knives, arming himself well. "Thank you for this," Zero said, as the door opened and they started walking away.
"What was that back there? What did he tell you?" Alex asked Zero.
"We should keep quiet and head back. I will tell you when we get there," Zero said, holding Zara's hand.
Leyla was inside with others, eating the chocolate and food they had. Emma walked to her.
"Where did the Doc go? I saw her opening the door this morning with a backpack."
"She will come back soon. She just needed to get some samples from the nearby pharmacy."
They didn't finish talking when Doc knocked on the door. People were frightened.
"Relax, everyone. It's just the doctor," Leyla calmed them down and opened the door, seeing Doc and Ben.
"Oh, welcome, young man. What's your name?" Leyla asked Ben, but he was quiet.
"Yeah, he's not that friendly yet. He seems hungry. Why don't you give him something to eat first?" Leyla took Ben to give him something to eat.
Doc went to her perimeter, took the blood sample C, and put it all on the table. She started observing the sample with her scientific tools.
Milan and Scarlet were on the road, still walking forward, heading to St. Thomas Hospital. It was almost evening, and the town was quiet, reeking of the blood of the dead.
"It's almost night. We should find a place to make camp," Milan said.
"How long will it take to get there?" Scarlet asked him.
"If we leave tomorrow morning, we will be there in three days."
Scarlet started walking her side of the way. "Where are you going?"
"Securing the area. I'll be back before you know it."
"Do you have to go alone? What part of working together don't you understand?"
"Alone is better," Scarlet said, walking away.
Milan walked inside a building beside him, a pharmacy, to secure it for the night. As he walked by, he saw some medicines.
"This will do good," he said, taking some painkillers.
As he glanced around, he saw a young girl standing at the corner of the corridor, looking at him. He was shocked.
"Hey, it's okay. I'm friendly."
The girl started running down the stairs. Milan started chasing her. The girl walked inside a room and stood at the wall. Milan walked inside, and the girl was staring at him.
"Hey, I'm fine. You can trust me."
He felt something behind him, and just as he wanted to turn around, he was hit hard on the head. He fell down, fainted.
Outside the pharmacy, Scarlet was back, looking for him. She didn't see him, so she started following his tracks. She saw that he walked inside the pharmacy.
"Son of a bitch," she muttered, walking inside the pharmacy too, heading towards the tracks.
She saw the same girl again, staring at her. Scarlet was shocked as she stood and stared back.
The girl ran, as usual. Scarlet didn't buy it. She took out her swords and slowly started walking towards the girl.
As she reached the room, the door was open, and she saw the girl standing inside, staring at her.
"Listen, kid, I don't want any trouble. Whoever put you in this situation, it's going to get a little messy in here, and believe me, you wouldn't want that. Just tell me where my friend is, and we will be on our way."
The girl sat down on the floor and took a backpack, opening it to reveal a teddy bear. Scarlet saw that she knew the bag was Milan's. She walked inside the room, and the moment she touched the bag, she felt something behind her.
She turned around with a sword, trying to slay whatever was on her back, but she missed, and she was choked, carried up, and hung. She was shocked, seeing a giant-sized man with heavy weight and muscle. She was choked until she lost consciousness and fainted.
Zero, Ayanna, Alex, and Zara reached the hall, knocked, and Leyla opened the door. They were relieved seeing Zara again. Dr. Patel was smiling, looking at them.
Alex walked inside and took some chocolate without saying a word.
Zero called everyone and told them about Marcus and the leaving day.
"It's a one-way ticket. What did you say to him?" Leyla asked.
"I told him we would go. We have just tomorrow because they leave the next day at sundown. We have to be there in the afternoon."
All of them agreed. Ayanna was quiet as she walked to the window and stared outside. "Everything alright, Ayanna?" Doc asked her.
"You guys can go. I will not leave the hospital, not until my brother gets here."
"Come on, Ayanna, do you even think he would be alive by now?" Zero asked.
"He's gotta be. He's tough, and he made me a promise. He never breaks his promises."
"Look, Ayanna, I get it. I was there when he made you a promise, but things have changed now. The communication is down, and we don't have anything to prove that he is alive. But if he said he is coming, then you can leave a note, give him a clue to where you will be. That will be easy for him to find you," Dr. Patel said.
"I need time alone," Ayanna said, walking away and sitting alone.
Milan opened his eyes, seeing blurry, as his vision slowly returned, he saw himself hanging upside down, tied very hard. On his left side, he saw Scarlet. He was shocked.
As he looked in front, he saw a muscular big man grilling some meat. He saw they were in some kind of kitchen butcher under the basement, full of blood and dead people on the floor.
He saw the big man walk to him with a bat, as he hit him hard in the face, and Milan fainted again.
