Andria sat next to Karlye as Fred ordered them coffee.
Myra seemed to be occupied with her mother's curly hair.
Even after trying three times, Andria had failed to straighten it again, as it had been done at the hairdresser's.
After the third attempt, she had given up and held it in a high ponytail.
Karlye has noticed but said nothing, and as for Myra, she seemed fascinated by it.
"So is she the one you wanted to introduce to me?" asked Fred sitting down.
Karlye nodded, "I want her to be signed under you. Give her as many opportunities as possible"
"Well that will depend on her capabilities...may I know the movies you acted in ?" he turned to Andria.
Andria blinked realising he was talking to her.
"Oh, they were mostly horror movies, and I was always the background ghost ", she mumbled.
Fred leaned back in silence.
"Since she hasn't acted in any lead roles, why not give her one?" said Karlye.
Fred sighed.
"Is it okay if she does an audition first, then I will decide after "
Karlye looked back at Andria who nodded. Even if she wasn't confident enough, she wanted to prove to herself that she was worth the opportunity.
Back at the old agency they never would have considered her after Karlye has helped had leave she wanted to do anything to prove to them she was competent.
Karlye received a call from work and got up to answer it.
Fred moved to his desk, "I am going to give you this script, try learning the female lead parts and in a week we can have that audition "
She took the script from him nodding.
"Thank you, I will give it my best "
Fred smiled catching a glimpse of the child still playing with her mother's hair.
"I always wondered if it was true, but seeing you now, I guess it is", he muttered.
"What is ?".
"The possibility of having a doppelganger out there " he let out.
"Oh....I too couldn't believe it when I saw her picture. We looked so identical, I thought I had a twin," she breathed.
"Well, I am glad you are ...for without you now, she wouldn't be able to smile like that "Fred's eyes moved to Myra.
Andria glanced at the little figure and nodded.
The door opened, and Karlye appeared, asking if they were done.
Fred and Andria nodded getting up.
Karlye offered his hand, and she took it, leading her out with Myra in her other hand.
"You look happy?" Karlye let out
Now in the car heading back home.
"Well, I never thought that I would even get such a chance or even work with Fred", she chuckled.
Her eyes looked down at the script and she beamed.
"Back at my old agency, such a chance would have been given to Lily in a heartbeat "
"Who is that"
"She was the most treasured actress back there. Every opportunity first went to her, and only when she rejected it was it that then passed through us ....and even during that, I was never considered.
"Why didn't you leave?"
"My contract wasn't done yet and I couldn't pay them back if I breached it. I didn't even have money for a lawyer," she said, "and as long as I was paid even the little I earned, it was enough.
Andria noticed him staring at her.
She blinked, touching her face, "Something on my face.
"No ..." he lowered his gaze
"Ice cream....I want ice cream " beamed Myra.
"Isn't it early for sweets " said her father.
"But ..." .
"I want some too," Andria let out, too.
Karlye chuckled and ordered the car to stop.
Andria and Myra rushed out, heading to the ice cream shop. Karlye followed behind them.
