Chapter 22 - Episode 21

(SEAN POV) I have no idea how much time has passed. I can feel that something inside me is changing. I'm becoming numb, and my thirst for blood is growing with every passing second. I don't fully understand what's happening, and I'm starting to get scared. Of myself. I know better than anyone what I'm capable of. If I lose control, I feel like I won't be able to tell friend from foe. What if I hurt my mother, or my brother Scott? Scott might have a chance to survive, but my mother…

(3RD POV)Sean was sitting on the edge of his bed, his hands pressed against his head, stuck in his own inner monologue. At that moment, Scott arrived home, and a few minutes later, Stiles came inside.

"Welcome, Stiles," Melissa said with a smile.

As Stiles dropped the large bag in his hand onto the floor, the sound of metal chains clashing echoed.

"Well… Mrs. Melissa, actually we have a presentation assignment, you know. Teachers give presentations and stuff," Stiles said, scratching the back of his head.

Melissa looked at him strangely, then at the bag. "I can't really say anything. Scott just got home; he should be in his room. Could you also check on Sean for me? He hasn't left his room since he arrived," she said before heading to the living room.

Stiles nodded and went to Scott first. They argued about Lydia. Scott had kissed Lydia. He had figured it out on the lacrosse field. And he hadn't even gone to ask her for him.

"What kind of friend are you, seriously?" Stiles said. "Lydia is the only woman I love, and you just went and kissed her."

Scott replied with a strange expression, "She kissed me, and she would've done more." There was a perverted look on his face.

Stiles couldn't take it anymore. With a quick movement, he snapped the handcuff onto Scott's wrist and locked the other end to the radiator before leaving. Scott shouted after him, but Stiles walked out of the room without looking back and collapsed behind the wall.

Stiles put his hand to his head, listening to Scott's words, when Sean came to his mind. Just as he was about to stand up, the full moon revealed itself completely. As Scott screamed in pain, a furious roar suddenly echoed from the next room.

"RRAAAAAAAAGHHHH"

A powerful roar was followed by the sound of glass shattering. Stiles jumped up and ran to Sean's room. Every corner of the room looked as if it had been slashed by claws. The bed sheets were thrown around, covered in claw marks. It was clear how much pain he had endured during the full moon.

Stiles lowered his gaze to the floor. "Again… again I wasn't there for him when he needed it most. He never shows anything when he's at his worst," he said, disappointment visible in his eyes. He picked up the sheet from the floor, tossed it onto the bed, then quickly ran to Scott's room. Scott wasn't there either.

Stiles quickly called his father. No answer! He left the room, went downstairs, and ran out of the house toward his car…

In a forested area far from town, Chris Argent, Kate Argent, and their team had gathered. They patrolled every full moon. After all, this was their territory.

During their patrol, they encountered a group of about sixty people. They were poachers and bounty hunters. Chris stepped forward. "This is our territory. How dare you set foot here?! Have you forgotten the agreements?!" he shouted angrily.

One of the bounty hunters stepped forward. "Agreements? What agreements? You still can't even kill an alpha, and you're talking about agreements?" His voice was mocking.

Chris clenched his fists. "As you know, it's not an ordinary alpha. Stay out of this and turn back."

The bounty hunter chuckled and aimed his crossbow at Chris. At the same time, all sixty of them raised their weapons. "Today, everything ends, Chris Argent. Today, we kill the alpha. And you're going to let it happen. Otherwise, we'll kill you," he threatened.

As Chris raised his weapon, the hunters behind him did the same. "Let's see then! You'll learn the price of stepping onto Argent territory!" he said.

They locked eyes for a moment. Finally, the bounty hunter smirked and fired the bolt. The arrow flew toward Chris's head. Just as Chris was about to dodge, the arrow stopped midair. Chris turned his head and stared at it.

A shadow was holding the arrow. The shadow slowly turned into a hand, claws forming from it. Then it shattered the arrow and quickly pulled back.

Everyone instinctively looked toward where the shadow had retreated. That was when they saw something they had never seen in their lives.

Under the moonlight, beneath a tree, stood a figure.

The whites of his eyes were dark. His pupils glowed golden. His hair reached his neck, waving in the wind. Crimson streaks seemed to move from his eyes down toward his neck. The red lines slowly spread across his body. First, they spread over his arms, which were wrapped in shadows, stopping at his jet-black claws. Then they traveled down from his neck, tracing over his chest and between his abdominal muscles like drawn stripes. When the crimson lines stopped, the werewolf took a step forward.

Moonlight illuminated his face. His features looked as if they had been carved by a god.

This werewolf was Sean himself. But he was very different. His body looked as if it had changed completely. His features were sharper. Inside him were different emotions.

PROTECT AND DESTROY!

The bounty hunter who had attacked Chris reloaded his crossbow and fired another bolt at Sean.

Sean looked at the incoming arrow and didn't bother to stop it. The arrow pierced his shoulder. There wasn't the slightest change in Sean's expression. Calmly, he pulled the arrow out and examined its tip.

"An arrow coated with wolfsbane. Clever," he said. His voice was young but carried a threatening tone. It was terrifying. Like a demonic whisper.

Everyone felt the temperature drop. It was as if the cold had suddenly fallen below zero. Chris stopped Kate, who was about to move.

"That was the one who attacked me," Kate said, looking at Chris.

Chris simply held her back and said nothing, slowly signaling a retreat.

As Sean spun the arrow between his fingers, he looked at the bounty hunter. "Do you really think wolfsbane works on a human?" he said mockingly.

The bounty hunter tried to speak, but blood flowed from his forehead, and he collapsed to the ground.

As Sean adjusted the arrow into a throwing position, he chuckled. "Ah… looks like it works after all. What do you think? Eheheh."

The hunters froze, staring at their fallen comrade. One of them shouted, "Kill him!" Instantly, everyone aimed their weapons and fired at Sean's position.

When the gunfire stopped, they realized no one was there but it was already too late. Sean had already slipped among them.

He drove his claws into one man's head and lifted him into the air. The hunters were packed too tightly to move freely.

Sean threw the hunter aside, knocking down several others, and moved again. A few arrows struck the ground where he had been standing moments earlier.

Another hunter died and fell to the ground. More gunfire. Another death followed.

"This isn't a normal werewolf! How can it be this fast?!" one hunter shouted but before he could finish, his head hit the ground.

Another hunter tried to flee when a shadow burst from the ground and pierced his leg. "ARGHHH!" he screamed in pain. When the hunters looked that way, they saw a horrifying sight.

The shadow became physical, lifted the hunter like a claw, then entered his body. Within seconds, the hunter's body exploded. Yes... exploded!

Blood sprayed everywhere. At the spot where the hunter died, Sean reappeared. He spread his arms, tilted his head back toward the moon, and laughed madly. "Ahahah! Ahahah!!"

Suddenly, his eyes snapped toward a hunter who was about to fire at him. The hunter fired in terror.

The bullet struck Sean in the abdomen. Sean touched the wound, then looked back at the shooter with a demonic grin. Then he vanished.

Thinking the hunter would survive, the others rushed toward him. That was their biggest mistake.

Sean's voice echoed, "Are you the only ones who can set traps?"

As the words left his mouth, the shadows beneath the hunters' feet grabbed them like hands.

After killing those trapped, Sean slaughtered the rest with brutality. Out of sixty people, only the hunter who had shot him remained.

In front of Chris, Kate, and their team, Sean appeared once more. In the darkness of the night, when he moved, there was nothing they could track. He was a werewolf fused with darkness a natural predator.

Sean approached the hunter, snapped the gun in his hand, then reached to the place he had been shot and roughly pulled the bullet out. Those watching stared at him in shock at his composure.

The hunter was trembling. He had never been this afraid in his life. He knew he was going to die. He was certain.

Sean leaned closer, looking into his eyes. "Thank you for the gift you gave me. Let me give you one in return."

As he finished speaking, the hunter felt an emptiness in his chest. In his final moments, before his brain stopped working, he saw a heart being held out toward him.

"I'm giving you your heart as a gift."

The massacre was over.

Chris stared at the chaos around him. Those who had been alive moments ago now lay scattered in pieces throughout the forest. This forest had never witnessed such brutality before. He thought his stomach was strong, but he still felt nauseous. His teammates, who had weaker stomachs, were already vomiting.

Kate looked at Sean, her gaze roaming over him first his face, then his abs. Her face began to flush. Insane thoughts seemed to tempt her. When Sean looked back at her with a hard, blood-soaked expression, she took a few steps back.

Sean's gaze returned to the sky, to the full moon. "Ah… finally," he said, as if relieved. He flicked the blood from his fingers, glanced at the remaining Argents, and as he walked away said, "The safety of the town is in your hands, Argent."

He passed by them and disappeared.

As Kate was about to speak, Chris stopped her. While staring at Sean's back, Sean suddenly glanced over his shoulder and smiled.

Chris felt as if he had seen that smile many times before. A familiar smile.

When Sean disappeared, he left no trace behind.
