Seeing Victoria in her new avatar, the Truth Fairy was overjoyed and asked, "Victoria, what will be our next step to acquire that artifact? We don't even know where it is now or who possesses it."
"That's exactly what I've been pondering," Victoria replied, lost in thought. "When I was fighting that demon, after defeating it, the artifact slipped out of Winston's pocket and fell. But I didn't pay attention at that moment; I simply returned to my car. If there had been an ally of that demon present, they would have obviously fought me on the demon's behalf. But no one attacked me. That leaves only two possibilities."
"And what do you think those two possibilities are, Victoria?" the Truth Fairy asked, looking intently at her.
Victoria nodded thoughtfully. "If no other demon was present, then either the artifact was taken by some office employee aligned with the demon—someone who seized it when Winston was unconscious—or it truly has been stolen this time. And the one who stole it is not a demon but a human, unaware that by taking it, they've invited their own death. Aethna would surely send more demons to retrieve it."
Returning to her normal form, Victoria spoke, "But first, I need to go downstairs and finish dinner, or Mom will kill me. By the way, Truth, what will you eat?"
"I'll eat whatever you do, but I can't handle anything too spicy. It would be nice if, on your way back, you could bring some sweets for me," the Truth Fairy said, her expression innocent.
Meanwhile, Umbraxos, the demon sent by Aethna, now disguised as a beautiful girl, tried to enter the office. However, the security stopped her.
"Madam, where are you going so late?" the guard asked, blocking her path.
"Hi, my name is Kathrina, and I work here at Olivia Tower. Earlier today, during the attack, I left my mobile and ID card on the 15th floor in a rush. Could you help me get them?" the girl said, introducing herself to the security guard.
"Madam, I'm sorry, but I cannot allow you entry into the building at this time," the security guard said, blocking Kathrina's way. "Due to the recent incident, that floor has been temporarily closed. You can come tomorrow and collect your mobile and ID then."
"Listen," Kathrina said, her eyes flicking to the nameplate on the guard's uniform as she continued, "if you can't help me now, at least have some respect for my innocence and… beauty," she added, letting her movements take on a subtle, seductive grace, hoping to coax the guard into letting her pass.
But the man was old and unmoved by her charms. Yet, at a short distance, the head of security had arrived, and Kathrina's allure had already worked its subtle magic on him. He approached the pair.
"What's going on here? Who is this beautiful lady?" the chief asked, looking down at the guard.
The guard explained the entire situation. The chief's expression shifted slightly, a mix of surprise and curiosity. "So what's the problem? She says she works here. If she wants to go inside, what's the issue?" he asked, turning his gaze toward Kathrina.
"Finally, someone who understands my predicament," Kathrina said, tucking her hair behind her ear in a suggestive gesture. "So does this mean… you're going to help me?"
Hearing her, the chief's eyes darkened with desire. In that moment, Umbraxos, disguised as Kathrina, realized the chief had already fallen for her act.
With that, the chief began leading Kathrina toward Olivia Tower, to the very building where the 15th floor had been attacked by Winston that day.
Meanwhile, after finishing her dinner, Victoria had returned to her room and was sitting with the Truth Fairy, planning how to track down the artifact. Suddenly, it struck her—Harry had also been at the office during the attack today, and she hadn't even checked on him.
"Truth, I haven't even checked on Harry. He works in the same department where the attack happened," Victoria said, looking at the Truth Fairy.
"Oh, are you talking about that lift guy who made your heart skip a beat?" the Truth Fairy teased.
"Oh, please, shut up," Victoria said, blushing.
Determined, Victoria called Harry, wanting to check on him—and perhaps, slowly, to get closer to him and share what was in her heart.
"Hello!" Victoria said into the phone.
"Hi, Victoria!" Harry's voice came from the other side, strained but familiar.
"Hello, Harry! How are you feeling now? I heard your team leader attacked everyone today," Victoria asked, as if she'd heard it through the news.
"Yes… I don't know what suddenly came over Winston. He'd never behaved like this before. But before he attacked, I saw his eyes darken… pitch black. Then, after that, he returned to normal, and only then did he start attacking everyone," Harry said in a single breath, his words rushing out as though he could barely contain them.
"Didn't you get hurt badly?" Victoria asked again.
"No, I just fainted after Winston landed a single punch. That's why I got discharged from the hospital today. How about your dad? I heard he got hurt pretty badly," Harry asked from the other side.
"He's fine now and resting. Actually, the medical team shifted him home from the hospital, so he's just recuperating there," Victoria replied.
For a few moments, neither spoke, the silence stretching over the call. Then Victoria spoke again. "The office must be in bad shape. Maybe it won't open tomorrow, but thank God nothing priceless was broken or stolen, right?" she asked, subtly trying to confirm if anyone at the office knew that the artifact had already been stolen.
"Nothing major, thankfully. But do you know, Victoria, the artifact we've been working on… it might have been misplaced in all the chaos, or maybe someone took it. But don't worry—tomorrow, security will trace it. We had already installed an encrypted tracker on its case," Harry said with a reassuring smile in his voice.
"Oh! That's great news. So everything's fine. Alright then, you rest for a few days. I'll talk to HR and get you three days of paid leave. Consider this my 'get well soon' gift," Victoria said, cutting the call with a happy sigh.
"Oh God!" Victoria exclaimed, bubbling with excitement.
"What happened, Victoria? Did your heart skip a beat again?" the Truth Fairy teased.
"Truth, stop teasing me! I'm happy because now I know exactly how we can get to the artifact," Victoria said, twirling in excitement.
"How?" the Truth Fairy asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.
"Our office security team had already installed an encrypted tracker on the artifact. With its help, we can track it and find out its location," Victoria said excitedly.
"Look, Victoria, I didn't understand much—except that we can find the artifact's location," the Truth Fairy said, making a confused face.
"That's fine. You've already understood the important part," Victoria replied. "Now let's go to sleep. I've kept some pastries in the cupboard for you—if you get hungry at night, you can eat them."
Saying this, Victoria switched off the room light and lay down to sleep beside the Truth Fairy.
Meanwhile, Kathrina had already entered the building with the security chief.
"Madam, do you work in Sir Winston's team?" the chief asked as they walked ahead.
"Yes. Why? What happened?" Kathrina replied, following behind him.
"No, it's just that I used to see Sir Winston every day. He was sharp‑tongued and scolded everyone, but he was a good man at heart and never wished harm on anyone. Suddenly today, something changed—he not only attacked his own team but also injured others. Do you know anything about it?" the chief asked, pressing the elevator button.
"How would I know? I mind my own work. What goes on in someone else's life doesn't concern me," Kathrina replied calmly.
"I just thought you might know something since you worked in his team," the chief said as the elevator began moving toward the 15th floor. "I've never seen such a sudden change in a person before."
"No one really knows which human harbors which demon inside them. Maybe Sir Winston was just frustrated with work, his boss, or his wife, and today his anger finally erupted, taking revenge on everyone at once. Anger shouldn't be hidden anyway—it should be expressed whenever it rises. And if a couple of people die in the process, what's the problem?" Kathrina said, her voice calm and unbothered.
Hearing this, the security chief felt a shiver of unease. At that moment, the elevator reached the 15th floor and the doors slid open. The scene inside bore witness to the horrific events of that day—blood splattered across the floor, scorch marks from fire, scattered bullet casings, and walls riddled with gunshots all screamed silently of the terrifying battle.
Without a word, Kathrina stepped out of the elevator and began wandering the floor, examining everything.
"Madam, where was your desk? Show me—I'll check your mobile and ID card there," the chief said cautiously, suspicious of her strange composure.
But Kathrina ignored him entirely. Instead, she absorbed the scattered debris and the black energy lingering in the walls, sensing exactly what had transpired there. Watching her, the chief realized he had made a grave mistake bringing her into the building. If he stayed another two, three, four minutes near her, he might not live to see the next sunrise.
Feeling the danger, the chief hurried back into the elevator, closed the doors, and started descending. He frantically tried to alert the rest of the security team over his walkie-talkie, but the signal inside the elevator was weak, preventing a proper connection.
Suddenly, a loud crash reverberated through the elevator ceiling. The chief's blood ran cold—he knew instinctively that his end had arrived.
On one side, Victoria had finally found a path to track the artifact. On the other, Umbraxos, disguised as Kathrina, was just one step away from reaching it himself. And yet, completely unaware of the imminent dangers, both cheng and his boss were lost in thoughts of golden futures, oblivious to the chaos unfolding around them.
