Chapter 11 - 11: The Artifact, the Demon, and the Admiral

Victoria's car was racing at high speed toward the same black market where, at this very moment, Harry—along with Kathrina—had become trapped between Cheng and his boss's gang.

"Victoria, how much longer will it take us to reach Harry?" the Truth Fairy asked, staring straight ahead at the road.

But Victoria was under intense tension at that moment. She didn't hear a word the Truth Fairy said and continued driving in silence, her eyes fixed on the map displayed on the car's screen.

Meanwhile, at Cheng's boss's hideout, everyone was holding one another at gunpoint, accusing each other of calling the police. They had no idea that a threat far greater than the police was already standing before them—a demon sent by the Dark Goddess, Umbraxos, who at that moment was aiming a gun at Cheng and his boss in the form of Kathrina.

"Look, I won't say this again, so I'm telling you for the last time," Kathrina said coldly. "Put down your weapons and hand over that artifact to me. I'll take it and quietly leave this place, and after that you can do whatever you want." As she spoke, her eyes shifted toward the artifact box placed behind Cheng.

But hearing Kathrina's words, Harry felt a flicker of surprise. He stepped closer to her and whispered, "Kathrina, won't you have these people arrested? I thought you would have informed the police before coming here." As he said this, Harry once again looked back nervously at Cheng and the others.

Kathrina understood that Harry might now be starting to doubt her, but she didn't want him to learn the truth about her until the artifact was in her hands. Turning to Harry, she said softly, "Sir, I've already informed the police, and they could arrive here at any moment. But before that, we need to secure this artifact, because I'm part of the security team, and protecting the company's property is my first priority."

But just then, suddenly, one of the Russian mafia men fired a shot at Cheng's boss. Cheng's boss narrowly escaped, but the bullet struck Cheng in the shoulder. After that, everyone there began firing blindly at one another. Each person wanted to take the others' lives. Harry and Kathrina took cover behind a table, and Kathrina started firing her gun as well.

Kathrina wanted to return to her true form—Umbraxos—and slaughter every human present in a single moment, but she still hadn't gotten her hands on the artifact. Amid the chaos of gunfire and stampede, the artifact too fell somewhere, no one knowing where.

On the other side, Victoria had already reached the area when she suddenly heard the sound of gunshots. She saw a large number of people running in all directions through an alley, trying to save their lives.

"Truth, this is the right time for you to use your new costume and your new name," the Truth Fairy said as she emerged from the car window. "Because I feel that the demon sent by Aethna has already arrived here, and to stop it, you'll have to become a superheroine. As a normal girl, you won't be able to face it."

At that moment, Victoria closed her eyes and recalled the angelic powers residing within her. The very next instant, an intense golden light spread all around Victoria. The radiance was so blinding that no human, god, or demon present nearby could see her. After a short while, as the light faded, standing before the Truth Fairy was SECRET ADMIRAL, ready to depart on her very first official mission.

"Truth, do I look okay? My face is properly covered by this mask, right? No one will recognize me, will they?" Victoria asked while checking her costume.

"You look perfect, and your mask is covering your face properly," the Truth Fairy replied with a smile. "Now go and show that demon that if evil exists in this world, then good exists to stop it as well. I'll stay here and keep an eye on this alley."

The very next moment, Victoria—now SECRET ADMIRAL—took flight into the air and headed in the direction from where the sound of gunfire was coming.

Meanwhile, at Cheng's boss's hideout, both the Russian mafia and Cheng's boss had now realized that Kathrina and Harry were not police officers. They were merely employees of the company from which Cheng had stolen the artifact.

"Listen, we shouldn't be fighting among ourselves," Cheng's boss said, addressing Jack and the Russian mafia with him. "These two are not my men, and I know they didn't come with you either, Jack. They're employees of the same company from where my man stole this artifact. So let's all work together and capture the two of them. Come on, everyone, come out."

Once the truth became clear, the gunfire at that place stopped. From one side, Cheng's boss and his gang stepped out, and from the other side, Jack emerged along with the Russian mafia and his men.

"I hope that whatever happened between us because of this misunderstanding won't affect our deal," Cheng's boss said with a laugh, baring his filthy teeth at the Russian mafia.

"Yes, without a doubt, whatever happened was just a misunderstanding," the Russian mafia replied. "But now we need to take that boy and that girl into our custody—the very reason our time was wasted and this misunderstanding happened." Saying this, he signaled to his men, and they immediately began searching for Kathrina and Harry.

Within five minutes, they caught Harry and Kathrina hiding behind a table and confiscated Kathrina's weapon. After that, Harry and Kathrina were brought and presented before the Russian mafia and Cheng's boss.

"You both seem like very loyal employees," Cheng's boss said mockingly, "who came all the way here to find this artifact just to protect your employer's company reputation, without caring about your own lives. But don't worry—you won't have to suffer anymore now." With these words, Cheng's boss gave a signal, and the very next moment his men placed pistols against Harry's and Kathrina's temples, waiting for their boss's command.

"No matter what happens now, I'll have to return to my true form," Kathrina—aka Umbraxos—thought to herself. "And where is that miraculous girl the Dark Goddess was talking about? Why hasn't she arrived here yet?" As these thoughts ran through her mind, she slowly began extending her nails.

But the very next moment, with a thunderous crash, the roof above them collapsed, and everyone ducked instinctively to save their lives. When the dust finally settled, Victoria—standing in her superheroine form as SECRET ADMIRAL—was right there, positioned in the middle of everyone present. The moment they saw her, all of them were stunned, and Harry, at first glance, became completely mesmerized by her.

"Oh, so this is what I was waiting for," Umbraxos, hidden in Kathrina's form, began to smile as he thought to himself. "So this is the miraculous girl who killed Vortex. Good that she came here on her own. Now I'll finish her as well—and I'll obtain the artifact too."

"Hey, girl, who are you now, and where did you come from wearing this joker-like costume? And how did you break the roof?" Jack asked as he stepped forward and questioned Secret Admiral.

"My name is SECRET ADMIRAL," she replied in a stern tone, "and I'm here to hand all of you over to the police and to take back the artifact you stole from Olivia Tower."

"Oh, this artifact is in very high demand. A lot of people want it, and now I won't sell it for anything less than ten million dollars. You're hearing this, Jack? Talk to your boss. And why are all of you staring at this joker girl? Kill her—right now," Cheng's boss said, looking toward his men.

The moment Cheng's boss said this, every person present opened fire continuously at Secret Admiral. But Secret Admiral—aka Victoria—stepped forward and raised her cloak, and all the bullets struck it and fell harmlessly to the ground. The sound of bullets hitting the floor slowly faded away. Everyone present stared at Secret Admiral in shock. Fear filled their eyes, along with an unbelievable sense of panic. "She… she's not human," someone said, trembling.

In the very next moment, Cheng's boss's men threw their guns onto the ground. Now this was no longer a fight of bullets—it was going to be a battle of bodies and power. Shouting loudly, nearly fifty men charged at Secret Admiral all at once.

Victoria took a deep breath. A different kind of glow appeared in her eyes—a glow that only shows itself when someone awakens their true strength. In the next instant, she surged forward like rushing air.

The first man who reached her was sent flying with a single spinning punch. His body twisted through the air and crashed straight into a glass counter. The second man tried to attack from behind, but without even looking, Victoria drove her elbow backward. The sound of bones breaking echoed as the man collapsed onto the ground.

Inside the shop, illuminated by the flickering LED tube lights, only screams, heavy breathing, and the sounds of colliding bodies echoed. Victoria didn't stay in one place for long. One moment she appeared near the ceiling, the next she was on the floor, then soaring through the air. Her speed was so incredible that ordinary eyes couldn't track her movements.

Harry and Kathrina watched from a distance. Harry whispered, "This… this is a storm. Our city finally has its own superhero, and she's the one who saved everyone at Olivia Tower. Back then she was wearing her regular clothes, but today… today she looks like a character straight out of a comic." With that, Harry quickly pulled out his phone and began snapping photos of Secret Admiral in her various poses.

Kathrina's eyes widened in disbelief. Everything she had heard about Victoria was proving true, and she realized that the girl she had considered just another ordinary enemy was actually someone who could pose a serious challenge.

Suddenly, five men attacked Victoria at once. One tried to grab her arm, another went for her legs. But in the next instant, all five were sent flying in different directions through the air. Victoria had delivered a spinning kick so powerful that, in a single strike, all five enemies were knocked down.

The men who had fallen to the ground tried to rise again, but every time Victoria moved faster than they could react. Sometimes she grabbed a man by the collar and hurled him into another, sometimes she delivered a gentle strike to someone's head, knocking them unconscious. It was like a dance—a dance of power, speed, and control.

Gradually, the floor of the shop became filled with groaning, unconscious bodies. Only a few remained standing, but their eyes now held nothing but fear. One man shouted, "Stop! This woman is not human!"

But it was already too late. Victoria closed her eyes, and the next moment—there was only the sharp whistle of rushing air.

When the onlookers looked again, they could hardly comprehend what had happened. One by one, all the remaining men were now seated on the floor, their hands and feet bound with sturdy ropes. The knots were so precise, it looked as if a master sailor had tied them.

Victoria stood in the middle, perfectly calm. Her breathing was steady, as if nothing had just happened. Only the glow in her eyes betrayed the truth—she had done all of this.

"Fifty," she said softly, as if counting each one.

Harry and Kathrina approached her. Harry, utterly mesmerized, spoke in a calm, awed tone, "I've seen you before—when you saved me and everyone else at Olivia Tower. I wanted to thank you back then, but I never got the chance. By the way… what's your name?"

Victoria gave a faint smile. "Saving people and delivering justice… that's my true work. I am the one who banishes darkness with light. 'Secret Admiral' is my name," she said softly.

At that moment, Secret Admiral's gaze fell upon Cheng's boss and the Russian mafia, who had been hiding in a corner. The moment they realized that Secret Admiral had seen them, they came forward on their own and sat among the bound men, tying themselves up with the ropes.

Seeing this, Harry and Secret Admiral both laughed. But Kathrina stared at Secret Admiral intently, her expression unreadable. Whether she was plotting something in her mind or was about to attack immediately remained unclear. The artifact had still not come into the hands of either Kathrina or Secret Admiral, and who would ultimately claim it would only become evident after the inevitable clash between Secret Admiral and Kathrina—aka Umbraxos.
