Chapter 10 - ONE OBSTACLE DOWN

KOO MUJIN was pissed as hell.

If Teacher Kim Gong hadn't come to the classroom to meditate, he might have gone berserk and forgotten the fact that he was dealing with a middle-aged woman.

He wouldn't say that he was already calm, though.

After all, when they were taken to the faculty room, another annoying 'adult' greeted them.

"Are you the one who hit my son with your stupid pheromones?! Because of you, my boy has to stay in the hospital!"

Koo Mujin pretended that the old man yelling at his face was just air.

So, this is Bae Kyung's father, huh?

No wonder that kid grew up a scumbag.

Anyway, Koo Mujin just kept his eyes on the ceiling while standing in front of Lee Haneum protectively.

Of course, he didn't enjoy getting yelled at.

But he would rather get scolded instead of Lee Haneum.

"Sir, please calm down," Teacher Kim Gong said, obviously in a panic and didn't know what to do. "Let's wait for Student Koo Mujin's parents to arrive before we start talking."

Right.

Abeoji said they're almost here.

"I can't wait to meet that boy's parents," the hysterical ahjumma, Bae Kyung's mother, said while scoffing. "I want to know what kind of people raised that barbarian."

Koo Mujin looked down at Koo Mujin's parents, causing them to flinch.

He didn't do it on purpose— he just had to lower his gaze because he towered over the (insufferable) old couple.

"I'm sure my parents are better people than you could ever be, ma'am, sir."

This time, Koo Mujin insulted the old couple on purpose.

So, he wasn't surprised when Bae Kyung's father punched him in the face.

It didn't hurt, and he didn't even stumble even after getting punched.

But, for some reason, he experienced a splitting headache.

What if this ahjussi has made me dumber?

"Koo Mujin!"

Oh.

Koo Mujin smiled when Lee Haneum forced him to face him.

I don't mind being manhandled if it's Lee Haneum.

"What the hell are you grinning for?!" Lee Haneum scolded Koo Mujin while frantically pulling out a handkerchief from his pocket. "Your nose is bleeding, idiot!"

Oh.

"S-Student Lee Haneum, hurry," Teacher Kim Gong said in a hurry. "Bring Student Koo Mujin to the school clinic!"

Koo Mujin was about to say that there was no need for that, but…

"Mujin-ah?"

Koo Mujin beamed when he turned to the door and saw his parents.

He was about to greet them, but…

"C-Chairman Koo?"

Hmm?

Koo Mujin was surprised when Bae Kyung's father suddenly bowed his head deeply.

Even Bae Kyung's mother looked shocked and confused.

"Dear, who…?"

"What are you doing, dear? Greet Chairman Koo properly!" Bae Kyung's father scolded Bae Kyung's mother. "This is Chairman Koo Jungsuk of the Komet Corporation and his wife, Madam Kim Miriam."

"Huh? Then what is your boss doing here…"

Bae Kyung's mother trailed off, and then she gasped when the realization hit her.

Then the ahjumma turned pale.

Ah, finally— some peace and quiet.

"Son, what happened to your face?" his mother asked worriedly, cupping Koo Mijun's face between her hands. "Who did this to you?"

Koo Mujin didn't want to be a snitch at his big age.

But since he was in the body of a 17-year-old boy, maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to act like a spoiled brat.

However, before he could open his mouth to speak…

"It was that ahjussi, ma'am," Lee Haneum said firmly while pointing a trembling finger at Bae Kyung's father, who went as pale as Bae Kyung's mother. "He punched Koo Mujin." Then Lee Haneum pointed at Bae Kyung's mother, who looked like she was about to faint. "And that ahjumma beat up Koo Mujin earlier."

Wow.

Koo Mujin covered his mouth with his hand to hide his silly grin.

Lee Haneum is standing up for me.

It felt nice.

"That ahjussi and ahjumma also said they wanted to meet you, ma'am, sir," Lee Haneum said politely while looking at Koo Mujin's mother and father back and forth. "They said they wanted to know what kind of people raised a 'barbarian' like Koo Mujin."

Aigoo.

"Is that so? Thank you for telling us, student. It seems like you're braver than all the adults in this room," Koo Mujin's father said in a calm but condescending tone— obviously upset. Then his father looked at Bae Kyung's father coldly. "Fancy meeting you here, Director Bae."

Game over.

Koo Mujin could already tell that Bae Kyung would receive the punishment that he deserved.

He wanted to celebrate, but…

It feels like my head is being split open.

"Koo Mujin, are you alright?"

Oh, Lee Haneum is worried about me.

"I'm fine…"

Koo Mujin trailed off when something similar to a floating semi-transparent computer monitor appeared in front of his face.

[Congratulations on completing your first mission, Koo Mujin.]

Wait, what?

Was that the System that Koo Mujin was waiting for to appear ever since he got there?!

[As a reward, the System will show you a glimpse of what's happening in the real world at the moment.]

And, just like that, Koo Mujin fainted.

WHEN Koo Mujin opened his eyes, the first thing that greeted him broke his heart.

It was Koo Hajin— their one and only son— crying.

He was standing next to his child, but…

It seems like Koo Hajin can't see me.

"Appa, Abeoji, what should I do?" Koo Hajin asked between sobs, his eyes shut tight. "How do I live when both of you have fallen into a coma?"

What?

When Koo Mujin looked around, he finally realized that he was inside a huge VIP Room in a hospital that looked like a hotel suite.

There were two beds there.

Two comatose patients, too.

Naturally, the patients were the Koo Mujin and the Lee Haneum of the real world.

Oh.

That was a huge relief.

Koo Mujin was grateful.

Lee Haneum and I are still alive— we haven't left our son alone yet.
