Chapter 23 - Aftermath? [2]

Ken had watched the entire fight while munching on some chocolate bars, since that was the first thing he could find.

After the fight had ended, it seemed like Dokja was telling Sooyoung to not kill the werewolf, but she did it anyway.

Ken knew about this part, but again, he can't remember most parts clearly. And it was obvious even from far away that Han Sooyoung was throwing a tantrum for some reason.

Ken was thinking about what to do right now, as he didn't really know how to interact with people. It was not that hard, he knew it, but the problem is that, no matter what he does, if he does something for the first time, he becomes extremely nervous, and has trouble doing it.

But if he does it once, he doesn't have any problem doing it again. Which is also the reason he never really had a hard time with killing after the first person he had killed in this world.

As a loud shriek was heard, Dokja and Sooyoung ran towards the direction, followed by Ken. And to their surprise, the thing they saw was a bit too horrifying.

"Gross… What the hell is that?

… Absolute beasts." Han Sooyoung said in disgust.

It was the headquarters of the werewolves. And, it seemed like they didn't eat the things humans ate to fill their belly, but instead, they ate humans for that.

The scene was not only disgusting, but also absolutely horrifying. Though, even if it did make Ken a bit uncomfortable, he still saw them through the lens of second dimensional art. Which is why he didn't feel more than a bit of discomfort.

Ken is actually someone who has a hard time seeing gore in real life. He somehow can watch even the worst of the worst gore if it's fictional, but he somehow just can't handle the real one. But since he sees everything through a fictional lens, he can easily get through them.

But again, the most disgusting and sick thing is that, the werewolves were also humans originally, so, the thought of them eating humans are just shit.

Ken walked towards them and said in a low sound. "It sure is disgusting to look at."

"Ack!" Him suddenly appearing from behind actually scared Han Sooyoung, which Ken really didn't expect from her. And just as he expected, Dokja didn't get scared at all.

"Oh. You were the one–" Even before Dokja could finish his sentence, multiple gunshots were heard.

Because of that, they quickly headed towards the sound, and found a pile of werewolves carcasses burnt to a crisp.

"Elemental bullets."

"Bullets infused with holy properties?"

"Guns!"

All three of them said in tune. Even though Dokja and Sooyoung had a similar guess, Ken was the only different one. Which even made them stare at him for a second.

As a large group of people came in together, Han Sooyoung said to Dokja.

"Hey, do you remember… me saying that there was someone like you at Seodaemun penitentiary?

That's her group over there."

Most of the people wore dresses worn specifically by prisoners. As Sooyoung pointed at a woman wearing a long coat over the prison clothes and a mask. She said again.

"She's the leader. She sure acts like a renouncer, but nothing comes up when I try to check. Just like you." She nudged at Dokja.

"They are also wanderers, and pretty strong too. By now, they might have become the strongest."

As one of the women came forward with a machine gun in her hand, both Dokja and Sooyoung got ready for a fight. But only for her to fire the bullets at the pile of werewolves' corpses. Which actually removed them, revealing a giant stone under it.

"Are you Kim Dokja?" She asked.

Dokja looked complex for a moment before starting.

"You must be mistaken. My name is Yoo Joonghyuk."

Hearing it, both Han Sooyoung and Ken became extremely confused. However, Ken quickly got his composure, because he knew about Dokja's habit of saying this when he gets nervous.

Dokja even encouraged Sooyoung to tell them about it. So that they don't try to mess with them.

But the woman remained calm and stated. "We already know that you are Kim Dokja. So there's no use in lying.

Our king has said… that we will entrust you with the meteor!"

Hearing it, even Dokja got a bit confused as he asked.

"And who are you?"

"We are the subjects of the King of wanderers."

"Is it the woman with the mask? She doesn't even have a flag."

"Our king doesn't care about such trivial things. And here is a message from our kings.

We will take care of the catastrophe of the north, and you take care of the other four.

… That is all."

Han Sooyoung tried to stop them, but they completely ignored her and headed towards their way anyway.

"What the hell. Do you know her?" She asked.

"I don't think so." Dokja said in a calm manner. But as he looked at the king of wanderers, they made eye contact, which was all it needed to completely shake him off.

Though Han Sooyoung woke him out of his daze. As they were talking about this and that. Multiple survivors started to come out of a building.

They were the captives of the werewolves, and also people saved by the wanderers. Even as Dokja and Sooyoung were busy with other things, Ken was trying to break the meteor for some reason.

After a while, those two came back and saw Ken banging his head on the meteor. They were left complexed at what he was even trying to do.

"Hey. Why are you even tagging along with us?" Han Sooyoung asked.

Ken looked at her for a moment before asking. "Oh. Right. Do you have the answer for the question I asked?"

Sooyoung became a bit confused, and tried to remember if he ever questioned her in the past in the first place.

Seeing her confused, he said. "Don't you remember? We spoke through one of the avatars you controlled? The one a few days ago? I mean. Not a few days, but one or two days… oh, right. It can be called a few days."

Seeing him, both Dokja and Sooyoung looked at each other with the same look. Confusion and a weird sense of dread that it is going to be exhausting.

"... I don't know the answer to it." Han Sooyoung said in an exhausted tone. As if she tried a lot to find the answer, but just couldn't.

"And you call yourself a first rate author." Ken replied nonchalantly, which created an argument between them.

While they were still arguing, Dokja was thinking about one thing, which was that he can't take Ken all that lightly. Even though Ken has been a bit weird from the first time they met. He has always performed a lot of incredible feats.

And the biggest feat is being able to dominate Joonghyuk for a few seconds. Though, Ken immediately forfeited, and he also saw Ken lying on the ground after that for a while. But again, someone who actually had become a king, and dominated Joonghyuk for a while can't be taken lightly anyway.

After a while, breaking their argument, Dokja sat down to explain his plan properly. Instead of a catastrophe, this was the meteorite that would summon a guide. And his plan is to wake him up.

Then Dokja asked Sooyoung about how many points she has in her Mana.

"fifty five."

Hearing if, Dokja was left perplexed. As he started thinking of something. Interrupting them, Ken stated.

"I have maxed it out." When they looked at him, he said again. "Mine is sixty."
