Eliora woke with a sharp inhale.
Her room was dark and quiet. Yet something felt… different.
She pushed herself up slowly, rubbing her eyes. Her heart was beating too fast, too uneven, like she'd been running in her dreams.
And the sheets...she frowned, brushing her fingers across them. They were warm. Not just from her body, but like someone had been sitting exactly where she lay.
This was the fifth time she was noticing it.
A strange tingling rushed across her skin. Her shoulder, where the seal was felt overly sensitive, almost sore. She pressed a hand to it and gasped softly.
It felt like… lips had been there.
But that was impossible.
Her eyes swept the room. Nothing. No one.
Eliora swallowed.
"Zarek?" The name slipped out in a whisper before she could stop it.
No answer, but the bond pulsed again.
Her breath hitched.
She shook her head hard, trying to clear her thoughts. "I'm imagining things. I must be."
