Yagami and the seven Uchihas stepped onto the field.
Sarutobi Hiruzen stood just outside the boundary, cloak swaying lightly as he took the role of referee.
"Do not forget the rules of the match," he reminded firmly.
"I know, I know—let's get this started already."
Yagami waved impatiently. The prestige notifications in his mind had finally quieted down, and all he wanted now was to finish the mission.
Uchiha Yuuto's brows twitched.
Dragged into this fight because of Yagami's earlier taunts, he felt more and more like a pawn that had been forced onto the board.
Still—complaining wouldn't change anything.
They were already here.
"We haven't forgotten either," Uchiha Eikō said coldly, stepping forward.
Yagami's casual attitude only made his resentment burn hotter.
"Very well," Hiruzen said. "Perform the seal of confrontation."
He leaped back several meters, giving the two sides space.
Yagami sighed internally as he raised his left hand for the seal.
This ceremony… for grown adults who plan to beat each other half-dead…
But whatever. The faster he completed it, the sooner the mission was done.
Across from him, the seven Uchiha stood in a perfect line, each raising their hand in synchronized motion.
Their faces were serious—breathing steady, posture sharp.
A pressure filled the air as if the arena itself held its breath.
Yagami briefly considered giving them the middle finger.
Would be hilarious… but nah. Mission first.
The contrast between one and seven was stark enough that even the crowd quieted.
Almost no one believed Yagami could win.
"Begin!"
The instant Hiruzen's shout echoed—
OM—!!
Seven pairs of eyes snapped open at once.
Seven Sharingan.
Seven crimson tomoe burning simultaneously.
Their coordinated aura burst outward like a shockwave.
Their cloaks and hair lifted from the invisible pressure, the ground trembling beneath them.
Even Yagami had to whistle internally.
Damn. The Uchiha really know how to make an entrance. They even spawn a whole wind effect when they open their eyes. Stylish bastards.
But while admiring the theatrics, he quietly activated the Eyes of Kagura, fingers falling just enough to complete the mental seal.
"Move!!"
Shff! Shff! Shff!
Kunai scattered toward Yagami from multiple angles as the seven split apart simultaneously, trying to encircle him from all directions.
Their plan was simple:
Overwhelm him immediately.
End it before the one-versus-seven dynamic became embarrassing.
If they won quickly, it would be seen as Yagami's own arrogance.
But if they struggled—or worse, lost—then the Uchiha's reputation would go down the cliff.
Clack—clack!
Yagami rotated his wrists lightly.
Then...
He tapped the Squid Girl Bracelet.
Weight drastically reduced.
Speed instantly boosted.
His hand blurred.
"Wind Style — Vacuum Sword!"
His blade flashed.
A compressed wall of wind erupted outward.
Ding! Ding! Ding! DING!
The kunai were shredded midair.
The wind wave tore forward, sweeping across the front line of Uchiha attackers.
"Dodge!!!" Eikō shouted.
He flipped aside instinctively.
He remembered losing to Yagami's swordsmanship before...
But Wind Style!?
He hadn't expected this.
BOOM—!
Several Uchihas evaded narrowly.
But one...
Positioned poorly and unable to shift in time—
was slammed directly by the wind wall, lifted clean off his feet.
"Gah—!"
He crashed onto his back, skidding across the dirt.
[Uchiha Kizomu is out!]
Kizomu staggered up immediately, cheeks flushed in embarrassment.
"L-Lord Third! I'm fine! I can still fight—!"
Hiruzen's voice cut sharply through the field:
"The rules were stated clearly. Anyone who falls to the ground is defeated."
Kizomu froze in disbelief.
The Hokage didn't elaborate.
His attention sharpened on the battlefield—
Where the real fight was only just beginning.
