"I have to say, today was really exciting," Misty said, still a little shaken.
Silas smiled. "It's fine, we're safe now. Do you still want to go out and play?"
"Yes, of course, I do. But before we go play again, I think we need to make a trip to the police station."
Misty clearly hadn't given up, truly a brave girl. If it were anyone else, they wouldn't be in the mood to play anymore.
"Alright, that's fine. It's still early. Do you want to grab a cup of coffee to settle your nerves?" Silas didn't refuse; the day was barely half over.
A little while later, they arrived at the police station. Thanks to Misty's father, the two were released the fastest.
After that, no more dangerous incidents occurred, and the rest of the afternoon passed peacefully.
Of course, Silas thought it would have been better without the bodyguards next to them, as Misty's father, worried about another incident, insisted the bodyguards stay outside with Misty every moment. Misty couldn't help but let them follow.
"I originally wanted to take you somewhere else today, but I didn't expect..." Misty glanced awkwardly at the bodyguards.
The two bodyguards felt Misty's resentful look and nervously touched their noses. It's not our fault, Boss. It's my boss, your father, who insisted.
"It's alright, I understand," Silas said with a shrug. He could sympathize with Misty's father's feelings.
Halfway through their walk, Misty turned to Silas. "How about we call it a day, Silas? This isn't much fun, you know."
Having the two bodyguards around made the situation feel unnatural and uncomfortable.
"Sure. I hope we have a fun weekend next time," Silas said, waving goodbye.
Misty replied, "Me too. See you later." She waved back.
The bodyguards had already driven the car over and opened the door. Misty climbed in. Click! The door closed.
The car window rolled down, and Misty told Silas, "Let's hang out again next time."
"Sounds good." Silas and Misty's outing for the day officially ended.
Silas stretched. Although the day hadn't been fully enjoyable, he had lost the desire to play after the incident.
"I wonder where Peter is swinging off to now," Silas thought, casually hailing a taxi and getting in.
At Home
"Hmm? Silas, why are you back so early today?" Aunt May asked, confused, as he had said he wouldn't be back for dinner.
Silas explained, "My friend had to go home for something urgent, so I came back a little earlier."
"I see. Would you like some afternoon tea?" Aunt May asked.
Silas shook his head. "Thanks, Aunt May, but I don't need tea. Could you get me a glass of juice, though?"
"Of course." Aunt May turned and went into the kitchen. "I don't know where Peter is either, he didn't come back for lunch, and Ben went off somewhere. The whole family hasn't been able to enjoy the weekend properly."
Hearing this, Silas felt Aunt May was lonely, so he suggested, "Once Uncle Ben and Peter get back, we could plan a family picnic tomorrow."
Tomorrow was still a day off, and Uncle Ben wouldn't have work. The only variable was whether Peter would suddenly run off to be a superhero.
"That's a wonderful idea!" Aunt May came out with a glass of juice. "You can suggest it to your Uncle Ben."
"Great. Thanks, Aunt May." Silas took the juice and had a sip. "Tastes good."
Click! The door opened.
"Oh~ Silas, you're back so early?" Ben Parker returned, carrying a bag of items.
"What did you buy?" Aunt May walked up to Ben Parker and took the items from him.
Ben Parker changed his shoes. "I bought some tools to fix the car. The old tools weren't working anymore. That old fellow keeps having problems. Good thing I know how to fix cars."
Given the Parker family's finances, they fixed things themselves whenever possible. In fact, most American residents were like this: avoid calling a repairman unless absolutely necessary, as the cost was very high.
"Let me take that, Aunt May." Silas took the tools from Aunt May.
Ben Parker pointed toward the back door. "Silas, take these to the garage for me. I'm going to work on the car now."
"Okay, Uncle Ben. Do you want help fixing it?" Silas genuinely wanted to help, even though he knew nothing about mechanics.
Ben Parker nodded happily. "Of course, Silas. I can teach you the trade while we're at it."
"Speaking of which, Ben, how about we take the kids and go on a family picnic tomorrow?" Aunt May spontaneously suggested.
"Hmm~" Ben Parker thought for a moment, then smiled. "That is a great idea."
"Then I'll tell Peter when he gets back. And Silas, be careful not to disturb Uncle Ben while he works on the car," Aunt May said, shaking her head with a smile.
Silas patted his chest. "Don't worry, Aunt May, I won't disturb Uncle Ben."
Then, the two of them went out to the garage.
Ben Parker lay down on a creeper and slid under the car. He stretched out a hand. "Wrench."
Silas immediately handed the wrench to Ben Parker. For the next hour, Silas diligently handed Ben Parker every tool he requested.
Ben Parker worked for a full hour before finally sliding out from under the car, his face covered in black grease.
"Well, the old fellow is completely shot." Ben Parker clapped his hands in frustration. If he called a repairman, it would cost another fortune.
It would be better to spend the money seeing if he could find a cheap second-hand car. It was a shame about his old ride.
Ben Parker touched the car's hood, his face showing regret. "Old friend, it looks like we can't work together anymore."
Silas took all this in. He wanted to buy Uncle Ben a new car, but he didn't know how to explain the source of the money. Ben Parker wasn't as easy to fool as Peter. If he said he won the lottery, where was the ticket? Where was the tax receipt?
"How can I come up with an excuse?" Silas pondered how to weave a believable lie.
Stark Tower
"So, could that person in the bar be him?" On the virtual screen in front of Tony were two video clips: one of Silas in the bar and one of today's bus hijacking incident.
With J.A.R.V.I.S.'s capabilities, copying surveillance footage was extremely easy.
"Analysis shows the similarity between these two men in black is 88%," J.A.R.V.I.S. reported.
"88%? Listen, J.A.R.V.I.S., I need a definite answer." Tony extended his finger and pulled up another video—the one showing Peter fighting the robbers inside the storefront. Tony said, "This pajama kid is pretty good; he's a boy with a sense of justice. The man in black is unclear, so let's track him first."
"Understood, sir. We will continue to track the boy. As for the man in black, the reason I did not provide a 100% match is that while the two men are very similar, there are still differences."
J.A.R.V.I.S. pulled up two screenshots. "Although the clothing and masks are the same, and the body shapes are close, based on calculation using reference objects, there is an approximate one-centimeter difference in height between the two."
Artificial intelligence was truly terrifying; it could easily calculate complex math problems that would rack a human brain.
"What if the Masked Marvel was wearing height-boosting insoles today?" Tony joked. This man in black had given him a hard time, and he still hadn't found him.
However, Tony was sure of one thing: the person definitely lived in New York, and very likely in the Queens area!
"Alright, to find him quickly, I need to install some micro-cameras there," Tony thought.
The Arc Reactor II was too important to fall into the wrong hands, and installing cameras wasn't about violating privacy. Instead, he would place micro-cameras in small alleys in Queens to observe the dark corners of the neighborhood.
