Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: The Cage Fight

Silas leaped among the tall buildings and, in a short while, returned home. He quickly took off his ninja outfit and tossed it into the Shadowkhan Kingdom.

"That was a huge haul," Silas said, pulling out the sword again.

This sword, aside from the money, was the item that satisfied him the most.

Using the lamplight, Silas placed the sword on the table and began to examine it. Since the blade was extremely white, he decided to name it the Shadow Blade.

After all, who says you have to name a weapon based on how it looks?

After studying it for a moment, Silas put the Shadow Blade away, happily lay down on his bed, and found himself unable to sleep due to excitement.

School

"This report is well-written, and the best part is that you didn't plagiarize," Kulen said with satisfaction, placing the report on the desk.

Silas smiled. "Of course, Teacher. I would never do something like plagiarizing."

Kulen didn't say anything, but just stared straight into Silas's eyes.

"The last time was an accident," Silas shrugged.

"You may go," Kulen said, starting to grade other assignments.

Silas immediately bolted out the door. He really didn't want to spend any more time with Kulen; it felt awkward.

Back in the classroom, Misty immediately greeted him. "How was it? Was it okay?"

"Thanks," Silas replied, mimicking Kulen's expression as he sat down. "Hmm~ Very well written. You may return to your seat."

"Haha! Your imitation of him is spot on," Misty couldn't help but laugh.

"What are you two talking about, guys?" A robust man walked up behind Silas and placed a hand on his shoulder.

This well-built man was Silas's classmate, Gerard Franke, and they got along pretty well.

"Nothing much, just chatting. Say, I haven't seen you around lately," Silas turned to ask.

Gerard explained, "Well~ The school organized a basketball tournament last week, and I had the honor of playing."

"How did it go?" Silas wasn't very interested in the sport, even if it was an inter-school match.

"Pretty good! We advanced. The next game will be held at our school. You definitely have to come watch, man!"

Gerard enthusiastically invited Silas, promising, "I won't let you down."

"Alright~ I'll try to check it out when the time comes. When does it start?" Silas thought for a moment and accepted Gerard's invitation.

Misty suddenly interjected, "Excuse me, gentlemen, but Silas, do you like basketball?"

"Hmm... not really," Silas replied. He hadn't been very interested in sports in either his past life or this one.

"Okay, carry on," Misty said apologetically, thinking Silas might have been a basketball fan. She had planned to take him to a game this weekend, but now decided against it.

After School

Silas, who hadn't joined any clubs, was looking forward to going home easily. He decided to invite Peter again, but Peter once again refused.

Peter even said he was planning to prepare a gift for Silas tonight.

On the way home, Silas couldn't help but wonder what gift Peter was preparing. More importantly, did Peter even have any money...?

"Wait a minute!" Silas suddenly remembered something. Did Peter go to fight in the underground boxing ring? Oh no! Uncle Ben!

Silas quickly hailed a cab and rushed home.

"Silas, what's wrong? Why are you home so early today?" Aunt May poked her head out, hearing the commotion.

Silas usually got out of school around this time, but he typically took the bus. The taxi was significantly faster.

"Where's Uncle Ben?" Silas asked after putting down his bag.

Aunt May replied, "Your Uncle Ben has to work overtime today, so he might be back late. Are you hungry?"

"No, I'm fine. Actually, Aunt May, I'm going to go rest for a bit. I played games a little too late last night, so I need some rest."

Silas made up an excuse and went upstairs, pretending to rest.

"Silas, remember to rest earlier next time! Staying up late isn't good for developing young people like you!"

After shouting up the stairs, Aunt May went back to watching TV.

Silas returned to his room, quickly put on his black outfit, and climbed out of the window onto the side of the house.

If any careful person had looked up at the sky, Silas's all-black attire would have been very noticeable, even though it was only a little after 3 PM.

"Uncle Ben..." Silas quickly headed towards Ben Parker's workplace. Since Uncle Ben had taken them there before, Silas remembered the location.

Also, to save money on gas, Uncle Ben had deliberately found a job close to home.

CRASH!

Silas landed on top of Uncle Ben's company building. The eyes on his mask intently searched for Ben Parker.

He was worried about missing the afternoon window to earn Justice or Evil Points, but he felt this was worth it!

When quitting time arrived, the sky began to darken. Ben Parker walked out of the company entrance, stretched his limbs, and drove home.

"Huh? Nothing seems to have happened?" Silas was stunned. The plot seems different? But this was a good thing; he didn't have to worry about Uncle Ben's life.

Just in case, Silas still followed Ben Parker closely from a high vantage point.

An Underground Wrestling Arena

"You said it, if I win, this money is all mine," Peter said, looking at the cash on the table.

The person at the window sneered after hearing Peter's youthful voice. "Yeah, kid. But judging by your voice, you should go back home and drink milk with your mommy, haha!"

"You said it!" Peter resolutely signed up for the match, pointing at the window attendant as if to say, I'm going to win.

"Alright, may the Lord have mercy on you." The attendant looked forward to seeing Peter get beaten up.

Peter had already changed into his own suit, which he had rushed to make overnight—the one Tony would later mock as the "pajama baby" suit.

Soon, the previous match finished. The contestant known as "The Juggernaut" brutally threw his opponent out of the ring.

"Alright! Whoever can defeat The Juggernaut will win three thousand..." The host spoke as he walked toward the backstage screen.

"What's your name?" the host asked Peter.

Peter replied, "The Human Spider."

"What? The Human Spider? Is that the best name you could come up with?" The host looked disbelievingly. That name is terrible.

"Yes," Peter answered without hesitation.

The host sighed helplessly, then raised his voice again: "Will win a three-thousand-dollar prize! Let's welcome the amazing... the brave... Spider-Man!"

"Wait! It's The Human Spider!" Peter complained to the backstage staff.

However, the screen in front of Peter had already opened, revealing his figure.

"Hurry up and get out there, you idiot!" A staff member pushed Peter into the audience's view.

Because of Peter's small frame, the audience groaned in disappointment.

"The Juggernaut is going to tear off all your eight legs!"

"Go home, little bug!"

"Kill! Kill! Kill!"

"Kill him!"

Not a single audience member cheered for Peter. They were all shouting for The Juggernaut to kill him.

The Juggernaut showcased his bulging muscles on stage, pointing a finger at Peter below. "Get up here, little freak! Let me have some fun with you!"

Peter slowly climbed into the ring. As soon as he was inside, a cage was lowered from above.

Peter instantly felt nervous. He said to the nearest staff member, "Hey, man, I don't think I signed up for a cage match."

But no one paid attention to Peter. The entire audience was excited by the cage, jumping to their feet.

"Cage! Cage! Cage!"

GONG! The match began!

The Juggernaut charged at Peter like a wild boar.

But Peter easily leaped onto the cage, clinging to the bars.

"Aww!" The Juggernaut smashed his head into the cage, falling to the ground in pain. He scrambled up and asked Peter above him, "Why are you up there?"

"To hide from you, of course. Say, is that outfit you're wearing an intimate pajama set your husband bought you?" Peter retorted.

The Juggernaut was indeed wearing an outfit that exposed his chest.

"I'm going to rip you to shreds, you bug!"
