Chapter 26 - Chapter 25 What is your dream?

Kawaze and his four companions, plus a dog, stayed hidden in the trees until the construction team got off work—but they didn't see a single suspicious figure.

"Looks like they won't act today."

"We'll come again tomorrow."

Standing on a thin branch without the slightest risk of falling, Kawaze spoke calmly.

"What if they never take action?"

Tsunade voiced the doubt in her heart, her beautiful eyes fixed on Kawaze's tall silhouette.

Sakumo and Naixue stayed silent, quietly waiting for his answer.

Only the ghost mastiff looked around lazily.

Kawaze, still gazing down from above—the depth of his stare nearly sinking into the gorge—finally responded when Tsunade asked her question.

"This is just a test."

"If nothing happens, three days is the limit."

He always liked keeping people in suspense.

"That's enough. If you don't tell us properly, I'll kick you."

Clearly, Sakumo had had enough of his pretentious younger brother. The short-tempered White Fang mode was activated.

Cough cough.

Tsunade faked a cough to hide her smile.

"Fine."

"Have the construction team begin work on the fourth day."

"But that'll inevitably cause civilian casualties. I hope we can lure that old fox out within three days."

Kawakaze sighed. In the shinobi world, civilians were always the most fragile.

"There's nothing we can do about that. When the time comes, we can only do our best."

Tsunade wasn't a saint. She understood the cruelty of the ninja world. She could only try her best—and hope to save as many as possible.

After hearing his brother speak, Sakumo took the lead handsomely and disappeared. Naixue and the ghost mastiff followed behind.

"Tsunade-chan, let's go get dinner."

"Okay."

The two walked side-by-side toward the Hatake residence.

"Tsunade-chan, what's your dream?"

Kawaze, feeling bored, quoted a famous line.

"Ah… me?"

Tsunade froze for a moment, unable to react. A dream?Twins? A boy and a girl? Does that count?

The boy would look like Kawaze… and the girl would look like her.

Her cheeks flushed again at the thought.

Kawaze looked around, hands spread.

"There's no one else here. I'm asking you."

"I don't really have a dream. This is fine."

Tsunade suddenly looked shy, making Kawaze feel a little awkward.

"I think you should have a grand dream."

He thought it would be fun if he ever saw Tsunade wearing the Hokage robe someday.

"What dream?"

Tsunade pressed.

"You're destined to become Hokage."

"Only you can protect the legacy built by the First and Second Hokage."

"I'm sure Lady Mito would want to see it too."

Kawaze's tone was serious. Tsunade stared, stunned by the three metaphorical "mountains" in front of her.

"Really? Me… becoming Hokage?"

Her voice carried a hint of doubt. Her? Not Naruto?

Does Konoha deserve me?

"Yes. You."

"I'm sure your husband and children will be proud of you."

"What do you think, Tsunade-sama?"

Kawaze's emotional manipulation was so strong it almost fried her CPU.

"I think…"

"I can. I'll try."

Tsunade's blood was fully ignited. Her future twins would be proud of their mother—the Hokage.

Her husband would be proud of her too.And then he would set becoming Hokage as his dream.

"So then, Kawaze-kun, what's your dream?"

"My dream… is to be proud of you."

Kawaze gazed gently into Tsunade's eyes, the affection nearly overflowing.

"We're getting close."

Tsunade, blushing, felt so embarrassed under his gaze that she descended from the trees first. They were almost home.

Everything in moderation—Kawaze stopped pushing.

He followed her slowly with a smile, appreciating her voluptuous figure as they walked.

Inside the house, they headed to the dining room.

Sakumo and Naixue were already seated. The ghost mastiff was devouring beef in big bites.

Seeing Kawaze walk in, the dog dragged its bowl away and disappeared into another corner.

Dogs and maple trees don't share a roof, apparently.

Tsunade was seated beside Kawaze, and the dinner began.

After three cups of wine mixed with sauce, everyone started chatting.

The atmosphere grew lively.

"Sakumo-niisan, do you think I can become Hokage?"

Tsunade was clearly thrilled about the idea of becoming Hokage, and with alcohol emboldening her, she wanted to hear others' opinions.

Cough cough.

Sakumo didn't understand how such a ridiculous thought had even formed.

Do you think losing to Konoha is acceptable?Isn't Orochimaru stronger than you?

"You've had too much. Too much."

"You are a direct descendant of the Senju. Your qualifications are unquestionable."

Sakumo constructed a diplomatic answer, avoiding any mention of Tsunade betraying him earlier.

"I think you have a real chance of becoming Konoha's first female Hokage."

"A role model for kunoichi everywhere."

Naixue, being a heroine herself, raised her cup and clinked it with Tsunade's.

"Don't worry, we'll be your strongest support."

"You go forward. I'll guard the rear."

Seeing his PUA strategy working so well, Kawaze shifted into a gentler method—dual-flank persuasion.

If Tsunade lived in modern times, she'd say:'Everything depends on alcohol.'

Hearing Kawaze's words, Sakumo almost dropped his jaw.Bro, seriously?

You're spending all this effort just to chase your wife?

In comparison, his pursuit of Naixue seemed embarrassingly casual.

At this moment, Tsunade saw no one else. She tightly held Kawaze's hand resting on her thigh.

"I will make you proud."

She poured him a full cup and drank hers first.

Given the atmosphere, Kawaze had no choice but to drink as well.

He tilted his head back and downed it in one go.

Then he flipped his hand, gently holding Tsunade's.The distance between them shrank further.

What's your plan?

Sakumo couldn't bear seeing Tsunade being toyed with by his brother, especially since that brother was basically a more chaotic version of himself.

As the eldest, he had been Kawaze's first PUA victim.

If Kawaze poured chicken blood into him, he would absolutely splash it back.

"I…"

Tsunade was brimming with excitement. She had no idea how to achieve the great dream she'd just accepted.

Kawaze noticed things escalating too fast, so he looked at his big brother.

"You want me to leave no descendants?"

Then he added, "Don't worry. I've already made arrangements for you."

Tsunade's confused gaze instantly cleared, brightening.

"First, you've saved countless shinobi. Your influence is huge."

"Second, once the hospital is built, we can focus on civilian care—boosting your public reputation."

"Third, a great war is coming. We will rise to fame."

"Fourth, kill Hiruzen and I'll put you in the seat myself."

Of course, Kawaze only thought that part—he didn't say it out loud.

After completing the first three steps, the Fourth Hokage title would basically fall into Tsunade's hands.

"Kawaze-kun, I'll listen to you."

Tsunade carefully absorbed every point, fully agreeing with Kawaze's manufactured Hokage plan.

Sakumo, watching this, could only suspect one thing:

Maybe my brother wants her to become Hokage just so he can marry her.

And seeing the way Kawaze stared at Tsunade so deeply, Sakumo became nearly certain.

Nothing escapes the eyes of Hatake Sakumo.

He took a satisfied sip of wine, unable to hide the smug grin on his face.
