Chapter 32 - Chapter 31: Danzo's End

At this moment, Danzo no longer cared about the lives of his subordinates. He could feel Kawakaze's murderous intent locked squarely onto him.

Without attempting to explain anything, he threw down a smoke bomb and fled at full speed.

By the time the smoke cleared, Danzo was already dozens of meters away.

"He may have one or two skills, but he still dares repeat the same mistakes."

Kawakaze muttered coldly and charged after him.

Today, Danzo had to die.

The warriors of the Hatake clan were still fighting against the Uchiha, yet none of them were injured—not even a single casualty.

The scale had been perfectly controlled. The "exercise" was a complete success, with zero losses.

As for the Root operatives, they had begun to scatter, but in the end, Shumao and his wife slaughtered them all.

Danzo only wanted to return to the village. If he could just reach the Hokage building—no, even the presence of the Anbu would be enough.

They might be able to save his life.

He had reached his maximum speed, yet he still couldn't shake Kawakaze from behind him.

The distance continued to shrink.

"Hatake Kawakaze—why are you forcing me this far?!"

"I won't interfere with your hospital ever again! Just let me go!"

Danzo turned his head, gritting his teeth, shouting viciously. In truth, he had no intention of attacking the hospital again.

But his feet never slowed as he darted through the forest.

"You said the same thing the last time you came to my house. You don't get another chance."

Lightning-nature chakra surged across Kawakaze's entire body, boosting his speed dramatically.

In a flash, he overtook Danzo.Only now did Danzo realize—this had all been a game of cat and mouse.

And unfortunately, he was the mouse.

Kawakaze's blade moved like lightning, drawing a sharp arc of white light through the air straight toward Danzo's neck.

A chill raced up Danzo's spine. He bit his finger and slammed his hand onto a tree trunk—"Summoning Technique!"

Then quickly formed seals—"Wind Release: Vacuum Wave!"

A puff of smoke flared, and the scenery shifted.

Kawakaze's strike was blocked by a massive summoned beast—an elephantine creature with a trunk and tusks: Danzo's summoned monster, the Nightmare Tapir.

The octagonal Han sword sliced its long trunk cleanly in half.

The Nightmare Tapir let out a howl of agony, then inhaled deeply—a tremendous suction force roared from its mouth.

Kawakaze was dragged toward its jaws as Danzo unleashed his Wind Release.

"Good teamwork. You're not completely useless after all."

Far from panicking, Kawakaze even found time to mock him.

Lightning chakra wrapped around the octagonal blade, and the lightning extended forward, lengthening the sword far beyond the tapir's body.

Kawakaze raised the massive blade overhead and brought it down on the monstrous tapir.

The Nightmare Tapir shrieked, and together with Danzo's wind ninjutsu, it was cleaved in two.It dissolved into smoke, its fate unknown.

Seeing he stood no chance at all, Danzo had no choice but to flee once more.

All he could do was run faster—faster—faster.

When delight began to show in his eyes, he could finally see the Hokage building in the distance.

But then he heard a cold voice behind him—and pain tore through his body.

"Goodbye, Danzo. Don't oppose me in your next life."

Kawakaze's sword pierced through his back, flooding Danzo with freezing agony—a clean, instant kill.

Danzo collapsed to the ground, eyes filled with unwillingness, resentment, and hatred toward Kawakaze.

With a thunderous fall, the shadow cast by a generation's wickedness ended—before his ambitions had even begun.

Expressionless, Kawakaze flicked his wrist. Blood scattered from the blade, and the sword vanished.

He approached Danzo's corpse and examined it carefully, confirming the kill.

Without the Sharingan to perform Izanagi, Danzo was doomed from the start.

Kawakaze had no intention of touching the body; something like this could never be concealed anyway.

He turned and walked calmly back toward the hospital construction site.

By the time he returned, the conflict had already ended—the source of the violence had been completely eradicated.

Shumao's killing intent had not yet faded; it radiated a dangerous allure.

Nakesu and the ghost mastiff kept their distance.

The contrast between the Uchiha and Hatake warriors was stark.

Tsunade was speaking with the Uchiha clan head, and Koharu Uda had joined the conversation.

"He attempted to assassinate Advisor Koharu and weaken the Third Hokage's authority.Danzo, the traitor of Konoha, has been executed."

Kawakaze stepped forward and placed all responsibility on Danzo—after all, a dead man casts no light.Koharu had no choice but to stand on his side now.

Everyone's expressions differed.

Shumao was neither surprised nor pleased—he had wanted to kill Danzo last time just to vent.

Nayuki didn't care about any of it, still comforting the frightened ghost mastiff.

Tsunade looked as though she found the outcome perfectly normal.

The Uchiha clan head was shocked at first, then regained his composure. He had considered this possibility, but he never expected Kawakaze to act so decisively.

You actually killed Danzo?

On one hand, Koharu Uda-In felt incredulous.Danzo was a battle-hardened survivor, and his power was still at its peak.

Yet Kawakaze showed no signs of exertion—no fatigue whatsoever—revealing to her just how formidable he truly was.

What she didn't expect was Kawakaze's sheer audacity.Danzo was, after all, a disciple of the Third. And now he was simply…dead.

At this moment, she bitterly regretted everything.Had she known it would come to this, she would never have agreed to accompany Tsunade. Now she had to bear the political fallout for Kawakaze's actions.

"Yes. If the Third Hokage asks, you don't need to speak in my favor."

"It is our duty to protect the village's peace and stability."

Kawakaze acted the picture of magnanimity—the very embodiment of shamelessness.

If Koharu Uda-Yin weren't certain she couldn't beat him, she would've spat in his face.

But in reality, this was the only way to secure funding from othersand help them avoid disaster.

"I'll go see the Third Hokage."

Koharu gritted her teeth and left alone.

"Goodbye, Advisor Koharu. My apologies for troubling you during the hospital's opening ceremony."

Kawakaze shouted after her, but Uda-Root Koharu clearly had no strength left to respond, pretending not to hear.

"This is why you hired Advisor Koharu as vice director, isn't it?"

Tsunade finally understood how far ahead Kawakaze planned.

"Otherwise my money would just blow away in the wind—just like yours. I hope you make good use of it."

Kawakaze still wanted to tease Tsunade.

"You're doomed to go bankrupt."

Tsunade snorted and stopped talking.

"Hatake Kawakaze—farewell."

"I hope you haven't forgotten what you promised me."

Seeing the situation could no longer be salvaged, the Uchiha clan head didn't linger.

He led his clan away, unsure whether cooperating with this cunning fox was wise.

"Uchiha Fugaku, I expect great things from you."

Kawakaze called out after him for no apparent reason.Fugaku glanced back but said nothing.

He felt it was an insult from a victor to the defeated.

None of them realized that Kawakaze's gaze had already shifted toward the distant future.

The Uchiha clan was a cursed one.The more they lost, the stronger they became.

Their individualism clashed with Konoha's collectivism. Was that a sin?

As a time traveler, Kawakaze suddenly wondered—if the Uchiha clan truly integrated into Konoha, what would the village become?

Fugaku, Obito, Shisui, Itachi, Sasuke—just these Mangekyō Sharingan alone could dominate a region.

Kawakaze considered helping the pitiful Fugaku one of life's little pleasures.
