Chapter 28: The Betrayal of Tang Hao and Ah Yin

In the previous era, we failed to grasp the authority of the plane, allowing Huo Yuhao—a man outside the Tang family—to become the Child of Destiny. That was my dereliction of duty. He continued, "Not long ago, Little San told me he plans to secretly release the Golden Dragon King, then fight him, ultimately guiding the dragon's bloodline into our grandson Tang Wulin's body. That's the key piece in our design to claim the Dragon God's lineage. How are your arrangements with Gu Yue Na progressing?"
Ah Yin smiled faintly. "Don't worry. I've already used the life core's authority to influence Silver Dragon King Gu Yue Na during her slumber. Only the ruler of the soul beasts, Gu Yue Na, is worthy to be a daughter-in-law of the Tang family. Though—she used to be the leader of all soul beasts. If she ends up with Wulin in the future, how should that relationship even be described?"
Tang Hao snorted arrogantly. "Hmph, so what if she is the ruler of soul beasts? Once she enters the gates of the Tang family, she will obediently call you grandmother!"
"And if she refuses to listen?" Ah Yin asked.
"Then she'll be tamed—just as we tamed Huo Yuhao back then. We'll make her completely obedient, bearing children for the Tang family!" A flash of cold light passed through Tang Hao's eyes.
Ah Yin chuckled softly, almost mocking the destiny awaiting the Silver Dragon King. In the soul beast world, where bloodline hierarchy was absolute, to have the Silver Dragon King call her grandmother and Xiao Wu "mother" would be the ultimate humiliation. It was something Ah Yin would never have dared to dream of before—but now, with the power of the Tang family behind her, even as a second-rank god, her status was no less than that of a god king.
Tang Hao's gaze burned. "The next twenty thousand years are crucial. Once we bring Gu Yue Na into the Tang family and she bears a child with Wulin, we can plot to seize the Dragon God's divinity. When that time comes, our Tang family will hold three god king thrones—Life, Destruction, and the Dragon God—and our dominance will be unshakable."
"Three god king thrones? Such an ambitious plan. Aren't you afraid you'll burst from your own greed?" came a venomous voice from the depths of the plane.
Immediately, the remnants of the Plane's Will and the Core of Life launched a violent counterattack. The sudden rebellion caught Tang Hao and Ah Yin completely off guard, severely injuring them both.
"Impossible! Didn't we already refine the Plane's Will and the Life Core?" Ah Yin said in shock.
"I don't know either—but this must be their final struggle. Let's finish it." Murderous intent glowed in Tang Hao's eyes.
And so, within the plane's dimensional space, Tang Hao and Ah Yin engaged in battle with the remnants of the Plane's Will and the Life Core.
"Grandfather-in-law, Grandmother-in-law." As they fought, a familiar voice came from behind them—Huo Yuhao's.
"Yuhao, what are you doing here?" Ah Yin turned to look and saw he was merely a projection—his divine sense at the level of a second-rank god.
Huo Yuhao's divine sense said respectfully, "Grandfather-in-law, Grandmother-in-law, the Golden Dragon King has already been slain in the God Realm. Father-in-law sensed that something was amiss here on Douluo Continent, so he sent me to assist you."
Tang Hao, not suspecting anything, nodded. "Good timing, Yuhao. Help us suppress these rebellious remnants."
"Don't worry—it's in my hands. Today, I, Huo Yuhao, will eliminate these two pests."
In the next instant, he unleashed his two ultimate techniques: The Doom of Destiny and Soul Stripping.
The two divine arts split into four beams of light, striking directly at Tang Hao and Ah Yin. Completely unprepared, they were hit squarely, their connection to the Plane Core and the Life Core forcibly severed. In that instant, the original Plane Core and Life Core reclaimed their divine authority.
When Tang Hao and Ah Yin regained their senses, they realized what had happened. Twenty thousand years of scheming—gone in an instant. Their grand plan to usurp the core of the plane and life itself had collapsed.
The Plane's Will and the Life Core, now restored, showed no mercy. They sealed the dimensional space, cutting off any escape, and lunged forward for the kill.
Huo Yuhao's divine sense, after landing a successful strike, also turned his full power upon them. Hemmed in from both sides, Tang Hao and Ah Yin were trapped.
Without the authority of the Plane Core, Tang Hao was no match for Huo Yuhao's divine sense and was forced backward again and again. His eyes reddened with rage as he shouted, "Huo Yuhao, do you even know what you're doing?!"
"Old dog Tang Hao, of course I know what I'm doing—and what you were plotting," Huo Yuhao's divine projection snarled as he attacked ruthlessly, his unstable divine sense reinforced by the plane's own power, making it nearly indestructible.
"Have you forgotten the Tang family's kindness to you?" Ah Yin cried out, struggling under the crushing might of the Life Core. The countless wills she had devoured over the millennia now backlashed violently within her.
"The Tang family's kindness? What kindness?" Huo Yuhao roared. "All you did was turn me into your obedient dog!"
"Tang San helped you ascend to godhood! Without him, you'd be nothing," Tang Hao shouted, his Clear Sky Hammer shattering under the blows, forcing him further back.
"Ridiculous! I, Huo Yuhao, was the Child of Destiny of the previous era—a being fated to become a god. Tang San valued me only because he wanted to make me his servant. But I, Huo Yuhao, know the difference between gratitude and vengeance. It is thanks to the Douluo world that I stand where I am today. Yet you Tang family vipers would steal the will of all beings and rule the world for yourselves! How could I stand aside?"
A fierce light erupted in his eyes. "From the moment I was born, I was trapped in your schemes. I've endured in silence for tens of thousands of years, waiting for this chance. If I do not repay this world—if I do not liberate all living beings from your grasp—and instead continue as your family's lackey, then I, the Child of Destiny, would be no better than a beast!"
"Today, I shall join forces with the Plane's Will and the Life Core to destroy you two mongrels once and for all!"
