Chapter 29: Super-Giant Sea Kings
Back at home, Grandma Mo had, as always, prepared dinner—just waiting for Luo Han to return and eat.
"You're back, Xiao Han, come sit down and eat!" As soon as she saw him at the door, Grandma Mo quickly got up, her expression full of concern.
"Nothing happened today, right? Xiao Han! I heard some loud noises—you have to be careful out there!"
Her anxious expression reflected deeply in Luo Han's eyes.
I'll make sure Grandma Mo survives.
With that firm thought in his heart, Luo Han forced a smile and replied, "Everything went smoothly today, no problems at all. Don't worry, Grandma, I'll be careful. Hehe!"
Seeing his smile, Grandma Mo was finally somewhat reassured.
"Then come eat! I made lots of meat today—you should eat more," she said warmly.
"Mhm! I've been craving your cooking all day!" Luo Han replied cheerfully.
Grandma Mo chuckled softly, her face peaceful.
After dinner, Luo Han went up to Qingya Cliff.
At the cliff, several older hunting team members were standing night watch—big brothers four or five years older than Luo Han.
"Luo Han, what brings you up here?" one of them asked in surprise.
The others turned to see him as well, also looking surprised.
"Yeah! Luo Han, you've got patrol again tomorrow. You should get some rest!" one of them said.
Seeing their concern, Luo Han could only smile and say he came to walk off dinner and would head back soon.
He walked for a bit, then returned home.
That night, after eating Rainbow Fish, Luo Han lay in bed and began cultivating with his spiritual guidance.
Yes—lying down!
It always seemed like everyone cultivated sitting cross-legged. Was there some kind of special bonus?
Luo Han didn't know. He just ate Rainbow Fish, lay down to cultivate, and went straight to sleep afterward.
But tonight, after training, he closed his eyes—yet no matter what, he couldn't fall asleep.
Images from his patrol kept flashing in his mind. The moment those giant Sea Kings surfaced, his whole body had broken into a sweat—frozen in place, unable to move!
Sigh! Another deep sigh. Luo Han felt helpless. What was he supposed to do?
How could he save Ring Tree Island and everyone on it?
Should he enhance his telekinesis enough to evacuate everyone? Develop a power like Kotoamatsukami and control all the Sea Kings?
Or perhaps elevate his spiritual sense to the level of "hearing the voice of all things," make friends with the Sea Kings, and beg them to spare the Divine Tree?
None of that seemed doable within the next six months!
Better to focus on enhancing his physical talent. Tomorrow, he would talk to Uncle Witt about increasing to three Rainbow Fish per night for cultivation.
At the very least, by the time six months had passed, his strength would be maximized. He didn't want to be frozen in fear like today.
The next morning, the skies were clear—the clouds from yesterday swept away—but the gloom in everyone's hearts remained.
Early on, Luo Han had already told Uncle Witt about increasing his Rainbow Fish intake for training.
Uncle Witt stayed silent for a moment, then nodded and agreed to Luo Han's request.
From that point on, Luo Han repeated the same routine—patrolling by day, training by night.
His body continued to grow stronger, and his height gradually reached 2.5 meters. But by now, no one really noticed or cared.
Because, with only a month left before the Scaled Fruit's ripening, a Sea King over 10,000 meters long finally appeared in the seas near Ring Tree Island.
From the sky, Uncle Kate and Luo Han stood atop Cole's transformed Kun-form, using Observation Haki and spiritual sense to scan below—and felt a wave of despair.
In the deep sea below, a Sea King roughly 20,000 meters long, shaped like a giant eel, coiled and twisted along the seafloor. It looked like an underwater mountain range. Within a one-kilometer radius, there wasn't a single other Sea King.
All the others waited silently at the perimeter, as if guarding a king.
As expected! Sea Kings above 10,000 meters were on a completely different level from the smaller ones—not just in strength, but in intelligence.
To Luo Han, the intelligence of these massive Sea Kings was no different from that of humans.
"Don't give up, Kate. We still have Luo Han and Cole," Witt said solemnly, noticing Uncle Kate's despair.
Uncle Kate jolted slightly, turned to Witt, and saw his firm gaze—his own eyes gradually regaining resolve.
Since the torrential rain half a year ago, the Sea Kings' numbers had only increased. That's why Witt had started patrolling alongside Luo Han—to protect his life.
"You're right! We still have Luo Han and Cole. At the very least, we can still save some of the people," Uncle Kate responded with renewed clarity.
They were the two strongest on the island. If even they lost the will to fight, what hope did the others have?
"It's not time to despair yet. We still have a month. We have to find a way to save Ring Tree Island—or at least evacuate everyone," Witt declared, his gaze locked on the sea below.
Luo Han remained silent, a look of helplessness and frustration in his eyes.
Over the past months, he had tried every idea he could think of, but none had proven viable for saving the island and its people.
That night, after dinner with Grandma Mo, Luo Han returned to bed and began cultivating again.
Even if he couldn't save the island, he still had to train.
Maybe due to the external pressure, Luo Han's spiritual guidance ability had strengthened. Tonight, he would likely reach Cole's level of physical talent.
With the Rainbow Fish's energy guided by the recorded essence of his spiritual sense, Luo Han's body was evolving at a terrifying rate.
Under normal circumstances, Luo Han would be thrilled. But right now—he simply didn't have enough time.
If he had a few years, maybe he couldn't save Ring Tree Island—but he could at least evacuate everyone.
And honestly, in the current situation, even if an Admiral showed up, it might not be enough. Luo Han would be satisfied if he could just get everyone out safely.
As he sensed his body evolving to match the spiritual imprint of Cole's physical strength, Luo Han began thinking about his next steps.
He'd finished recording Cole's physical signature. Now, he needed to record a stronger one—so his own strength could evolve even faster.
His thoughts turned to the Sea Kings.
If there were ever beings in One Piece defined by physical talent, it was them.
Could his spiritual sense record the essence of those super-giant Sea Kings? Sea Kings over 10,000 meters had to have monstrously high physical talent.
Hmm… it felt like… maybe… it might be possible! Luo Han suddenly grew excited.
As long as the essence could be sensed—it should be recordable.
He would test it tomorrow and find out.
The next morning, Luo Han wrapped Uncle Witt in telekinetic energy and flew him to the boundary zone.
Before beginning their patrol, he explained the plan.
"Uncle Witt, my physical talent has already reached Cole's level.
Today, I want to try recording the physical essence of one of the super-giant Sea Kings—those over 10,000 meters.
If I can do that, I should be able to enhance my physical abilities even faster."
