Unfortunately, it was too late to ask without making herself look suspicious. She had already presented the bond as a gift, and snatching it back would undermine the entire impression she had worked so hard to create. Lina forced herself to remain calm, silently reminding herself that she had to learn more about the value of money in this world before making similar decisions in the future.
For now, she could only hope that the bond wasn't worth enough to make her regret her generosity.
"All right, you may leave, Mr. Flanders."
Pierre looked up in surprise. "But Your Highness, won't you tell me what I should do next?"
Lina leaned back slightly, deliberately adopting an inscrutable expression.
"If I have to explain every step to you in advance, then tell me, what use would you be to me?"
