Chapter 8 - Part7:Skirmish in Inazuma’s Waters

Lü Bu's Fleet on the Way to Inazuma

Above the clear yet treacherous waters of Inazuma, the sea wind howled, and the waves surged like galloping horses. Captain Beidou stood at the bow of the flagship of the Crux Fleet, her posture heroic and sharp. Her eyes blazed with resolve as she scanned the ocean. The sailors around her tended to their duties, busy but orderly. The sails flapped loudly in the wind, as if telling of the Crux Fleet's fearsome reputation.

Suddenly, the lookout shouted, "Unidentified fleet dead ahead!"

Beidou's heart tightened. She raised her spyglass and looked. A strange fleet was cutting through the waves. On the leading giant vessel, a figure stood imposingly at the bow, halberd in hand — it was Lü Bu.

The ships of Lü Bu's fleet were oddly shaped, tall and sturdy, their hulls painted with strange beast patterns that glinted coldly in the sunlight. Lü Bu stared at the approaching Crux Fleet, a cold smirk tugging at his lips. Victory was all he saw; he feared not this famous fleet from Liyue.

"Prepare for battle!"

At Beidou's command, the Crux Fleet quickly readied for combat. Sailors seized their weapons, cannons were rolled to the gunwales, their dark muzzles aimed at Lü Bu's ships.

Unwilling to back down, Lü Bu swung his Sky Piercer and ordered his fleet to spread into a fan formation, attempting to encircle the Crux.

As the two fleets closed in, the sea grew even more turbulent. The Crux Fleet fired first. Cannonballs streaked across the water like shooting stars, slamming toward Lü Bu's ships. Yet Lü Bu remained calm. His vessels dodged the cannonfire nimbly while closing the distance rapidly.

When the ships drew near enough for close combat, the battle erupted in full.

Lü Bu descended like a war god. Leaping high with his halberd, he landed directly on the Crux flagship. Every swing of his weapon carried earth-shaking force, and several sailors fell in an instant.

Seeing this, Beidou charged at Lü Bu, her long blade in hand.

"Insolent fool! Today shall be your grave!" she roared, slashing her sword with fierce momentum.

Lü Bu only sneered and blocked effortlessly with his halberd. The two clashed back and forth, their fight ferocious.

The surrounding sailors were thrown into chaotic melee. Shouts of battle and clashing steel filled the air. Though the Crux sailors fought bravely, Lü Bu's soldiers were well-trained and far greater in number. The Crux Fleet gradually fell into a disadvantage.

The duel between Beidou and Lü Bu reached its climax. Both were bloodied and wounded, yet neither would yield.

Lü Bu suddenly surged with strength and pierced Beidou's abdomen with his halberd.

Beidou grunted and dropped to one knee. Still, she forced herself up, propping herself up with her sword, glaring furiously at Lü Bu.

"Captain Beidou!"

The sailors rushed to her aid, only to be blocked by Lü Bu's men.

Lü Bu looked down at the kneeling Beidou, a flicker of disdain in his eyes.

"You are brave, but today, you and your fleet shall perish."

Beidou lifted her head toward the sky with her last strength, her eyes filled with unwillingness.

"I… won't accept this…"

Before she could finish, her eyes slowly closed.

With Beidou's death, the Crux Fleet lost all will to fight and surrendered one after another.

Lü Bu stood at the bow of the flagship, gazing upon the seas and fleet he had conquered. He let out a roar of laughter, his voice echoing long and loud across the ocean.
