Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: The Police Reported There Was a Dangerous Individual

Chapter 36: The Police Reported There Was a Dangerous Individual - All Units Dispatched - Lights Flashing, Smooth Sailing

Hotel.

Trish's face was flushed, and she leaned weakly against Danny, letting him hold her until the police entered, when she whispered, "Stop, someone's coming. We'll be seen."

Danny stopped when he heard this and glanced at the two police officers, a man and a woman.

The gazes in the restaurant focused on the two of them, and Darry proactively stood up and said, "I'm the one who called the police."

The male officer nodded, motioning for him to explain in more detail.

Then Darry described the scene he saw at the bottom of the pipe, stating there were hundreds of bodies, and one person's organs had been completely removed, but he was still alive.

Originally, the two officers were diligently taking notes, but they stopped writing when they heard about hundreds of bodies.

What a joke—hundreds of bodies?

If this case were to break, the whole country would be shocked, and how could hundreds of people go missing with no one reporting it until now?

"Do you take me for an idiot?"

Everyone in the restaurant looked at Darry as if he were crazy.

Danny thought Darry was still too honest.

If it were him, he'd fabricate a story about an armed and dangerous individual who'd attacked someone and was still at large.

Add a few more details.

With that narrative, almost no investigation would be needed.

It would be an immediate dispatch of units, and perhaps even tactical response.

Grand Theft Auto logic: Four stars means helicopters and SWAT teams air-dropped near you, armed with automatic weapons.

Three stars would also deploy air support, just not as extreme.

"Officer, I'm not joking."

Darry was getting frantic. Why didn't the police believe him?

"There are really a lot of dead people there, all bodies! If you don't believe me, I'll take you to see!"

The male officer merely said formally, "Sir, if you file another false report, I have the authority to detain you."

Trish looked worried when she heard this, and she glanced at Danny.

Danny stood up, first stopping Darry from speaking, and then told the two officers the "truth" of the matter.

Well, the Creeper's skin was very dark, so saying he was a dangerous individual wasn't wrong.

Sure enough, after hearing the culprit was an armed and dangerous individual with violent tendencies,

the male officer immediately picked up his radio and called for backup.

Soon after, a large number of patrol cars appeared outside the restaurant, their red and blue lights a spectacular sight.

As the saying goes, when the lights are flashing, it's all smooth sailing.

Trish thought Danny was so smart. Her own brother was clueless.

Darry stared blankly at this incredibly secure scene, truly not knowing what to say.

The goal was achieved, though the process was different.

The police began a comprehensive search for suspicious vehicles and individuals in the vicinity.

With Danny pointing the direction, a large number of officers began moving toward the Creeper's lair.

Damn, just missing helicopters.

Evil spirits and demons were indeed terrifying, but what would happen if a large number of officers and tactical units, carrying weapons, automatic rifles, or even heavy equipment, rushed in en masse?

He hadn't seen it, so he didn't know what kind of scene that would be.

But similar events had occurred.

Danny thought of the scene in Cloverfield, where even military bombers were deployed.

But even then, facing such a monster, it was still hopeless...

Danny sat back down, estimating that if the lair were raided, the Creeper would likely be enraged.

After reporting, he actually wanted to go with them, but he couldn't.

He just didn't know if this many patrol cars plus modern weapons would be enough to take down the Creeper this time.

After thinking for a moment, Danny went outside alone and summoned a card.

The card quickly materialized into a black and white clown carrying a garbage bag.

Art the Clown tilted his head, looking at Danny and awaiting orders.

Danny didn't give verbal commands. As a containment object, he only needed a thought, and it would naturally be completed.

Art suddenly ran into the darkness the next second.

The direction was precisely the Creeper's lair.

At the same time,

the officers on the other side had already discovered the Creeper's lair, and seeing the hundreds of bodies in the underground chamber, they realized something was seriously wrong.

The veteran officer suddenly turned around, vigilantly looking into the darkness, and raised his pistol.

"Come out with your hands up!"

The other officers were confused but also drew their weapons and aimed into the darkness.

There was no movement for a long time.

Just when others were wondering if the veteran officer had seen wrong,

a face slowly emerged from the darkness. That face couldn't be called human—the skin was like dried leather, the pupils were white, the features were distorted, and the scars on the face protruded like writhing worms.

The group of officers was stunned. Whatever this was, it definitely wasn't human.

The veteran officer shouted, "Holy shit, open fire!"

"Bang bang bang bang bang bang!"

Sparks lit up in the narrow tunnel, and the Creeper disappeared and reappeared in the blink of an eye. Each time it emerged from the darkness, it took a life.

The veteran officer shouted into his radio, "Need backup! We've encountered an unknown creature at the scene, requesting immediate support!"

"Woop woop woop."

Immediately, officers who received the message began mobilizing and rushing toward the Creeper's lair.

The sound of sirens was loud and chaotic on the road.

Passing vehicles and nearby residents couldn't help but look out to see what was happening.

What major incident had occurred that so many units were dispatched?

With a rapid low-frequency rumble and vibration, a police helicopter flew over the hotel.

Most people in the hotel came out to watch the helicopter fly away.

Even air support was deployed. It seemed a major incident had truly occurred.

Danny was wondering what measures California authorities would take if the Creeper truly wiped out an entire station.

Would they directly send tactical teams, or would they call in Church demonologists?

Darry, who'd been sitting restlessly, suddenly stood up and walked outside.

Trish stood up and asked, "Darry, what are you doing?"

"I want to go see."

"You can't go—it's not safe there now."

"Sister, didn't you hear what was said? That thing wants me, and if the police can't stop it, it'll come for us eventually!"

"How is that possible..."

Dozens of patrol cars plus a helicopter—Trish thought that even if it truly was a monster, it should be dead.

How could anything withstand such firepower?

Danny put his hand on Trish's shoulder from behind and reassured her, "I'll go with him. No matter how strong the creature is, it can't kill that many officers."

Trish actually wanted to go too, but as a woman, she'd only be a liability.

"Please help me keep an eye on Darry. He's too young and too impulsive."

"Yeah, don't worry."

Danny chased after Darry, who'd already gotten into his repaired old car. Danny unceremoniously opened the door and sat in the passenger seat.

Just in time to catch a ride and watch the action.

Darry glanced at Danny and said nothing, starting the car and pressing the accelerator all the way down.

The guests at the hotel were still confused at this time, thinking it was just a simple dangerous individual incident. Did it really warrant such a large deployment?
