"Do not let go! Whatever you do do not drop me!" Sophitia yelled in a panic as she was swinging and only being able to be saved by the strength of my arm.
Her constant movement was making it very difficult for me to pull her up safely.
"If you would stay still and stop swinging around, I would be able to pull you up a lot easier." I said in a grunty tone as I started to slide down myself.
I pulled really hard as I tried to maintain my grip on the walkway.
"Satus Check"
Then the screen that displayed my status showed up in front of me.
"Is this really the time to do this" she exclaimed out of rage as I had my status screen open.
"Put all of my status points in strength!" I yelled as I started to slip and Sophitia started to become too heavy to carry.
"Are you done now? I want to be on the ground again!" she exclaimed as she started to lose her grip on my wrist.
"Alright this is going to hurt". I said as I yanked her up, and I flinged het over my head until she landed on her back in a single motion.
"Ow you know that hurts". Sophitia said to me as she rose back up to her feet.
"I am sorry.I just had to put all of my available points into strength so that I could pull you up with ease. I had to be quick about it.So I did not pull you up with any form of delicacy." I saidvto her as I stood back up.
After we both caught our breath i chose to look around and find a good vantage point so that I could begin sniping the Lava Toads.
As I looked around the area i saw that there was a large canyon , that seemed to go on a straight line for miles, and even though I truly did not want to come down that path, I somehow knew that there was only one way to get to the boss of this portal.
"Leave the scouting to me after all that is my job. While, I try to scout and attack the enemies while you get into a sniping position from the top of the ravine." Sophitia said as I saw her dust off her armor.
"Alright, I will leave the scouting to you.Since that is your job, but it will take me some time to get up two high enough vantage point to oversee most of the ravine and support you from up there."
I saw that she took the two sphere shaped devices that were on her belt and turned them on before throwing them in the air. When they were in the air , I saw that they just stayed floating above her.
Then after that I saw that she loaded her energy rifle.
"Do not worry with the assistance of my drones.I will be able to buy you enough time to get up into position." She said very confidently to me as I saw her starting to march off towards the ravine, and her drones began to follow her.
I chose to ignore any distractions that I had because I needed to do my job as the combat support from above.
The left side of the ravine seemed to be the best place for an advantage tosteadying my aim.
The climb up was relatively easy.Mostly due to my increased strength and agility. When I made it to the very top of the ravine I set my sniper rifle up in between two rocks that were on either side of it to brace it.
As I looked through the new thermal scope of my sniper rifle i was almost blinded by all of the orange and red that became visible all around me. After a few seconds of looking through the scope, I remembered that I needed to adjust the type of thermal that was being picked up instead of seeing all of it.
Then I adjusted the dial on the scope, and after that, I was only able to see about twenty different heat signatures.
Through my scope, I was now able to see the Lava Toads that were approaching and that Sophitia was beginning to fire at them with her energy rifle.
The lava toads seemed to advance like an army of gorilla fighters. They were scattered and seemed to run around without any form of organization which made them hard to predict.
I took a deep breath and aimed my sniper rifle at the first of thr Lava Toads that was the closest to Sophitia.
The bullet of my sniper iphone flew at the target, and thanks to the advanced scope that I now had I was able to hit it squarely in the head.
As soon as I fired my first shot, I noticed that a few of the Lava Toads beard away from the main group and started to climb up the ravine; which means I would need to shift my position and snipe them before they reached me.
I got up from my position and decided to prepare myself for melee combat.
As the first of the lava toads made its way, I ran it at him and strength at b core of its front. The Lava Toad fell down on the ground lifeless, after a single swing.
A few seconds after the first of the lava toads diedI noticed that it's core began to glow a bright orangeish red color and it exploded releasing all of the lava from inside of its body at me.
I did not dodge in time , and my armor began to be eaten, and I noticed that my right arm began to burn because I tried to block the blast with my arm to reduce the damage to my face.
The second and third of the Lava Toads that were climbing up had made it to where they could finally strike me as I was screaming in pain from the burns on my body.
Since I did not have time for complaining I chose to attack the Lava Toads with my knife and they each fell with a single thrust to the chest. This time though, I chose to jump back as soon as the second one fell away from them so that I could not be hit by the self detonation that they did upon death.
The next three Lava Toads started to fire bursts of lava from their mouths.
I was able to dodge the first barrage, relatively easily, but after I had done that , there were three more lava toads now about to shoot at me.
I started to worry about what I would do to take down these Lava Toads since the odds were now six to one.
With every single shot that they threw at me , I was able to dodge, but the problem was , was that as soon as one group of them were finished attacking the second one was charging up their attack , so I did not even have two seconds to breathe.
With every passing moment that I was dodging their strikes, I became more and more exhausted which made me meet react slower.
Then after a short while I stopped dodging , because I could feel that all of my stamina had become exhausted.
All of the Lava Toads began to advance until they were all only about three feet from me. Then they all in unison charged up their lava spit.
How would I survive this? I was exhausted with no remaining stamina, and Sophitia was definitely still busy?Because I could still hear her energy weapon going off in the distance.
