'Well I am young. It's normal, yes that's it.' But he had to say that she was the most beautiful of all the rankers he had seen till now. It wasn't her skin or body. It was her face. He wondered what her rank was.
He looked around and nodded in relief as he wasn't the only one stunned at her. Everyone who saw her was in the same state.
He looked at her one last time and followed towards her. It was because she was going to the gate of the core city too.
'Purple hair huh'.. It means she has already infused with a bloodline and its potential is definitely Calamitous or above as only those levels of bloodlines can change the colour of hair and eyes..' Who is she '
They all came to the gate and entered inside without any obstruction as these gates weren't meant to stop humans.
Kael and the others didn't have to look for long to find the transport vehicle of the Academy as there were at least three standing there with one of them half filled.
Everyone made their way towards it and that girl too. It was evident that she was going to the academy too.
Kael was a little surprised..'Is she by any chance a Latent?'
It was almost impossible to see through someone's rank unless you had specific abilities related to it or they used their strength. He had just assumed that she was much higher ranked due to her bloodline acquisition.
When he entered inside the vehicle overly excited voices of Latents entered his ears.
"You don't know how scared I was in the trial but I kept my cool..."
"What was your trial grade?"
"Rare..."
....
All the talks were related to their trials and what their grade was. Just by listening he could hear that most of them had gone to Normal grade trials.
Although they all seemed excited to talk very rarely anyone talked about their traits.
Traits didn't only tell you about your power but they also could reveal your weakness too and no one wanted to give that away.
Rules were only in cities. Once they left this settlement even humans saw each other as enemies. This was how greed and jealousy worked.
Although not everyone was like that especially if they went out together as groups different world. They knew that their lives depended on every bit of strength.
He decided again to take the last seat as he wasn't interested in talking about his trial but to his surprise one of the last seats was taken by that girl.
Seeing that she had closed her eyes it was obvious she wasn't interested in nonsensical talks either.
Because of this even though most of the Latents seemed interested in sitting beside the seat parallel to her, they didn't.
It wasn't a problem for him though. Although he felt self-conscious it wasn't like he was going to talk to her and the seats weren't that close to each other either.
Kael made his way and sat parallel to her and closed his eyes too. He felt the other Latents getting a little silent but eventually they carried on with their own talks.
He didn't care what they thought as long as they didn't try to talk with him. There was one strange thing though. He felt his heart beat escalate again. 'Was he really that hopeless?'
He ignored it and just waited for reaching the academy.
...Unknown to Kael the girl opened her eyes and glanced towards him with a frowning expression. She was in a similar dilemma. If Kael had known that then he would be at least happy that it wasn't what he was thinking...
...
An hour later Kael was standing in an open space outside the academy along with all the other Latents. These were all the total number of Latents who had come to the academy this year.
The chaos present here was quite higher than even what he had imagined it to be and no matter how much he avoided everything he was still getting asked here and there...
"What was your trial grade..."
"Bullshit."
"What type of planet was it..."
"Barren..."
"Did the corrupted creature you killed look scary..."
"It was just a beautiful flower."
"What is your trait and its ability?"
This question made him doubt his own shamelessness. "My trait is to avoid shameless people."
"Seriously?"
"You don't believe it?"
In the end everyone just left him alone. Kael shook his head again which he had been doing for a long time now. Everyone wanted to find a good group of their own instead of choosing the leftovers.
One of the best ways to find good teammates was to ask for the grade of their trial and what kind of monster they had killed. This way they could easily determine if someone got a good trait or not.
Traits were many types and forming a group consisting of different types of traits which compensated for each other's weaknesses was considered best.
Just as he thought that a luxury vehicle stopped on the road just outside the open space. Everyone paid their attention to the vehicle as this road wasn't meant to bring vehicles that close to the academy.
The driver immediately came out and opened the door for the person sitting behind to come out.
A boy with bright red hair came out and looking at him everyone got surprised.
"Is he someone from the Pyrecrest family?"
"Who else do you think he is then? Red hair and the fact he was allowed to bring his vehicle here."
"What is he doing here though? It's not like he needs to come to the academy like us peasants. Not to mention his own city has an academy."
"It's the Pyrecrest clan's way of doing things. Those who are weak and aren't suitable in the current generation are sent to the academy as punishment and they always come to this academy."
Kael had heard about something like that. The descendants of super clans didn't go to academies. They already had enough members to form their own groups and enough knowledge to train their scions.
In fact it was said that a scion of a super clan was only allowed to challenge Epic or above trials. If they did anything below they were disowned by the family.
