Esme's POV
The thought of Sylin complaining to Eidrin and feeling downcast made me feel guilty. I watched him sleeping peacefully around his brother's element. He must have truly felt downcast.
"You misunderstood Sylin," Eidrin explained. "He couldn't be bothered with three knights, so he had a son. Sora existed differently, but Sylin took back his mana after his hibernation. With time, he'll be stable enough to bring back Sora. The child is not dead."
While that relieved me, I wished I had understood it like that earlier. Or perhaps Sylin could have explained it, since I didn't understand how they created knights.
"I didn't understand it. I will apologise."
"You don't have to. He and Sora still share the same consciousness, so he definitely understands why you reacted that way."
So that was why he said Sora was existentially his younger brother? I smiled. On the flip side, Sylin had grown close to Eidrin—though they might have been already.
