Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 I Am Kayrav

Nadia couldn't sleep tonight, especially with Kayrav watching over her. Nadia was confused about what to say to her husband about Kayrav being there.

"Do you want me to buy you some ice cream?" Kayrav asked suddenly, standing beside the bed.

Nadia, who had been sleeping with her back to Kayrav, who was sitting casually on the sofa, was naturally surprised.

"Kay, why don't you just go home? I can take care of myself here. Please go home, and tomorrow when Razel comes, I won't have to explain anything."

"You don't need to explain anything. I'll talk to Razel later. Why? Are you afraid Razel will be jealous or suspect we have a relationship?" Kayrav asked casually, as if he had no fear or burden, unlike what Nadia had been feeling all this time.

"I don't want Razel to think we have a relationship, even though I did make a big mistake with you back then." Nadia lowered her gaze as if she regretted what had happened.

"Nadia, why do you feel like you've made a huge mistake that can't be forgiven? Razel's mistake is bigger, especially since he did it on purpose. What we did was unintentional and not what we wanted."

Their eyes locked, as if there was something they wanted to say, but they didn't know what.

"Kay, to me, Razel is a good person, and as for your accusations, you have no proof. Don't make such slanderous accusations just because you want to destroy my marriage."

"Slander? It's true that I love you very much, even now, but I'm not a jerk who would use dirty tricks like that. If Razel is truly a good man and can make you happy, I will choose to go far away, I won't bother you two."

"I'm happy, Kay, I've been happy with my husband all this time!"

Kayrav approached Nadia's sad face as she sat half-lying, leaning on her bed.

"Unfortunately, I don't see the happiness you're talking about, Nadia," he said softly, but firmly.

Nadia's eyes could only stare blankly at Kay's face. It seemed pointless for Nadia to explain her desire for Kay to leave because it would never happen.

"I want to sleep, Kay, and I hope you're not here tomorrow morning." Nadia turned her back on Kayrav again.

Kayrav, who also didn't want to argue with Nadia, chose to lie down on the sofa.

At exactly three in the morning, Nadia woke up from her sleep. She was now sitting up, looking at Kay, who was still asleep.

Nadia slowly lowered her legs, wanting to go to the bathroom. Fighting off a slight dizziness, she held onto the table beside the bed.

"Where are you going, Nadia?"

"Kay?"

Nadia's eyes widened in surprise when she saw the man she thought was asleep walking towards her.

"Are you going to the bathroom? Let me help you."

"I can do it myself, Kay, you don't need to help me," explained Nadia, who was now holding onto her IV pole.

"Kay!" Once again, Nadia's eyes widened in surprise when Kay picked her up.

"Don't resist. You forgot what the doctor said. It's better to obey than have something bad happen to the baby."

Nadia fell silent upon hearing Kay mention the baby.

Kay eventually carried Nadia to the bathroom and waited outside the door.

After she finished, Kayrav carried Nadia back to bed.

"Kay, what we're doing is wrong," said Nadia with teary eyes.

"Because you're Razel's wife? Leave Razel and marry me," replied Kayrav casually.

"Kay, it's not like that! Why have you changed now? You're not the Kayrav I used to know."

"I haven't changed at all, Nadia. I'm still the same Kayrav who loves you and wants to make you happy." Kayrav's hand gently caressed Nadia's cheek.

"Kay, I'm a wife now." Nadia gently pushed Kayrav's hand away. Don't make me feel bad about being a wife in the eyes of others."

"I'm pregnant, Kay. I don't want to think about this problem and end up disturbing my pregnancy. Honestly, if you keep forcing yourself on me like this, I'll be really stressed. I'm scared, Kay. I'm scared that people, even my own parents, will think I'm a bad wife, a cheap woman." Nadia started crying.

Kayrav took a step back, feeling guilty after hearing what Nadia said.

"I never meant to stress you out, Nadia. I just want to protect you from that jerk. Razel isn't a good man, Nad!"

"I've never seen anything bad about Razel. Kay, please, let me live happily with Razel."

"What if I can prove that your husband is a jerk? Will you leave him?" Kayrav seemed to be making a deal with Nadia.

Nadia fell silent, staring intently at the man in front of her.

"Nad, Razel and his family have been very kind to our family. I hope you can repay their kindness. Your mother and father are alive and well because of their kindness. Be a good wife and daughter-in-law to their family."

Nadia saw the look of conviction and the tight grip of her mother's hand, as if all hope rested on Nadia's shoulders.

"Mom, don't worry. Nadia knows how to repay someone's kindness. Thanks to Razel's family, Dad was able to get good medical treatment, and Nadia didn't have to marry Mr. Suryo, who had many wives. Nadia will never forget all that, Mom."

"Mom is sure you can be a good wife for Razel, especially since his parents seem to love you very much."

Nadia had to bury her love and hopes for the man she once loved deeply, but they had to part ways because her mother absolutely disliked Nadia being close to a poor man like Kayrav.

Nadia's hope of seeing Kayrav return one day was dashed because for several years, there had been no news or information about Kayrav.

"Kay, you don't need to prove anything. It's better if you leave tomorrow before Razel arrives because I don't want my husband to think we have a relationship, and as for that night, I've completely forgotten that I ever did that with you."

After saying that, Nadia lay down with her back to Kayrav, who was still standing stunned in his place.

"Nadia, I'm sorry if I've made a mistake that you can't forgive," Kayrav thought to himself.

Kayrav seemed to see great disappointment in Nadia's eyes, to the point that Nadia really wanted him to go away.

Kayrav walked toward the bedroom door and once again turned to look at the woman he loved deeply.

Nadia had closed her eyes, as if trying to calm her heart.
