It had been three days since Razel left for Switzerland on business, and during those three days Nadia had been home alone doing her daily activities.
"Hello, Nadia," someone called out at the front gate, startling Nadia, who was watering the plants.
"Tita? You scared me! Why are you here so early in the morning?" Nadia walked over to open the gate for her friend.
"I came here to bring you your favorite fruit salad, Nad. It just so happens that I have the day off from work today." Tita handed her a plastic bag containing two boxes of fruit salad.
"Thanks, Ta. I was craving fruit salad, but I couldn't go buy any because my motorcycle broke down and I haven't taken it to the repair shop yet."
Nadia invited her friend into the house.
"Hey, Ta, do you want to help me? You're here anyway." Nadia smiled cutely at Tita.
Seeing this, Tita felt uneasy.
"Help with what?" Tita looked curious.
"You're off work today, right? I want to ask you to take me to Cafe Paradise."
Tita's eyebrows immediately shot up. "The cafe where you used to work? What for? Do you want to buy something?"
Nadia shook her head slowly.
"Then what do you want to do there, Nad?"
"I want to work," Nadia replied softly.
"What? Work?" Tita's voice immediately rose.
"Yes, Tita, I want to work there again. Besides, Mrs. Anna also allows me to return to work there if I want to."
"Oh, Nadia!" Tita was confused. Holding her head, she sat down on the living room sofa.
"Have you forgotten that you're pregnant? The doctor also said you need to rest a lot, why do you want to work? Do you really need money?" asked Tita in an annoyed tone.
"I don't need money, I just need a new atmosphere, not staying at home all the time. Razel isn't home either, I'm bored and want to find other things to do." Nadia sat next to Tita with a sad face.
"Did your husband give you permission to work again, Nad?"
Nadia nodded quickly.
"What? Are you serious? He knows how your pregnancy is going, and he still gave you permission?"
Nadia nodded again.
"Razel is crazy." Tita's disbelief was clear. She didn't expect Razel to allow Nadia to work again while she was pregnant.
"Razel isn't crazy, Ta, don't badmouth him." Nadia's face immediately clouded over.
Tita immediately felt guilty towards her friend, but she was genuinely angry with Razel.
"I'm sorry, Nad, but I'm upset that Razel allowed you to work again. Nad, you're pregnant, and your womb is weak. Aren't you afraid that something might happen?" Tita gently rubbed her friend's arm.
"I'm sure my womb is fine. My baby is very strong, Ta, as strong as its mother." Nadia even smiled sweetly.
"Huh! You've always been stubborn. When it comes to this, I can't say anything else to you."
"Ta, just support what I'm doing. Don't get tired of encouraging me, okay?" Nadia immediately hugged her best friend. Tita hugged Nadia back because she loved Nadia like her own sister.
"Sure, Nad. I will always support and encourage you. Anyway, if anything happens, you can tell me everything, even if it's about money. If you need money, just tell me."
"Why are we talking about money?" Nadia pulled away from the hug and looked at her friend in surprise.
"Who knows, maybe you're working again because you need money."
"Tita! Why are you still thinking about that? I already told you, I'm not working again because I need money. I'm just bored staying at home all the time and want a change of scenery." Nadia pouted.
"Okay, okay, don't be upset." Actually, Tita was a little suspicious of Nadia because, after all, she had known her best friend for a long time.
"You're thinking as if Razel doesn't give me monthly allowance. My husband always provides for my needs."
"Yes, he should! He also has to love you and your baby. One more thing, he also has to be faithful to you." Tita crossed her arms.
"Razel loves me, Ta," Nadia replied softly.
"Why does she sound so unsure?" Tita narrowed her eyes.
"Never mind! I'll make you your favorite bitter coffee." Nadia quickly got up from her seat.
"That's what I've been waiting for." Tita grimaced.
Nadia went into the kitchen, immediately boiled water and prepared black coffee in a cup.
"It's better for you to go back to work now, Nadia. After all, we'll have to spend a lot of money if we have a child. Not to mention that I have to pay for your father's medical treatment and therapy, as well as your parents' daily needs. You have to help me now. You're the one who wanted to have a child, so you have to take care of everything yourself," Razel said firmly on the phone.
"Nad, the water's boiling!" Tita quickly turned off the stove.
"Tita?" Nadia, startled, snapped out of her reverie.
"What were you daydreaming about? The kettle was boiling, but you didn't hear it."
"I'm sorry." Nadia quickly brewed coffee for Tita.
"Nad, are you really okay?" Tita asked again with a curious look on her face.
"I'm fine, Ta. Here, drink your coffee first. I'm going to my room to get my phone." Nadia walked towards her room.
Tita knew that Nadia was avoiding her question.
Soon Nadia returned with an annoyed look on her face as she looked at her phone screen.
"What's wrong? Did you call Razel? But he didn't answer?" asked Tita while sipping her coffee.
"Razel's phone has been off since last night. Maybe he's still sleeping?"
"Maybe he's still sleeping. It's still early morning there, right?"
"It's autumn there now and it rains a lot. I want to remind Razel not to forget to bring a coat when he goes out. I'm afraid he'll get sick there." Nadia sat down with a worried look on her face.
"You don't need to worry. His beloved sister is there and she will definitely take care of your husband." Tita said, rolling her eyes lazily.
"What's wrong with you?"
"Nothing. Eh, what are you cooking? It smells good." Tita saw an omelet and asparagus soup.
"You eat breakfast first and I'll change my clothes and take you to my workplace," explained Nadia.
A few minutes later, they were both in front of Nadia's terrace. Tita helped Nadia put on her helmet.
"Kayrav?" Nadia was surprised to see Kayrav getting out of the car, right across from Nadia's house.
"Oh my God! My boss looks so handsome in casual clothes," said Tita, who was already sitting on her motorcycle.
"Huh? Your boss?" Nadia was surprised again by Tita's words.
