Chapter 16 - Comfortable Toilet and Lucky Socks.

This time around he had the sudden whim to send a bunch of invitations for the newly recruited handymen. About more than ten times the amount he usually sends.

Although a wasted effort that will eventually be thrown away without any response or a letter of rejection, he felt that he had time that day and wrote it just for the sake of writing one.

Surprisingly, all of them responded.

Thousands of magical letters flooded his office with the statements of their acceptance to be in attendance.

Even, some people way above his social status and power took the initiative to send letters stating their intent to be present for the event, asking for accommodation upon their arrival. Many have various levels of outrageous reasons involved included in their letters onto why they are coming too. Some for political interests, some out of curiosity, and some even still just stated they are bored and wanted to do something.

And those reasons are the reasonable ones!

There are unreasonable ones such as one wizard putting in words that he felt the toilet in the Everbright towers felt more comfortable!

Or the other stating that they are here to ask for socks from a handyman under his tower because she felt that they were lucky!

Many times over he wished to simply throw these notices and invitation replies into the garbage for the sheer audacity that he is reading. But the people who sent such outrageous remarks coincidently happen to be the ones whose reputation, status, and power far surpassed him.

So, he had to begrudgingly agree to the letters sent and try to accommodate such a vast crowd on such short notice.

And all of this accumulated unto today. Having the top of his tower that is usually reserved for only several people at best for gatherings and what not. Now holding several dozen men and woman together. All either patiently or impatiently waiting for the newly recruited handymen to appear.

As for their real purpose?

Those are thoughts they keep to themselves, such thoughts that Everbright has no right or authority to ask for many at attendance. Despite this being an event hosted and solely managed under his name.

But Everbright didn't mind.

The sheer fact that he could draw such a crowd for an otherwise innocuous occasion will be a great boon for him. This very event being the one to foretell his ineludible rise. It is no rumor after all when people say 'connections drive us', having so many people come together in attendance will surely become the talk of all wizards for the foreseeable future.

Whether they like it or not, Everbright tower will garner a massive reputation!
