Nyxara even pulled the Commander away from Myles as she hugged Myles and asked, "Are you okay? Your forehead…"
She pushed Myles' hair out of his forehead to see the bruise and some blood leaking out. It turned out, the injury wasn't heavy.
She then heard the Commander say, "It's not the forehead you should worry about, Mistress. It should be his elbow and his left hand. They are broken."
Nyxara hastily glanced at Myles' elbow and left hand with difficulty and like what the Commander said, they were totally wrecked.
"I'll bring him into the infirmary."
Without waiting for their reply, Nyxara pushed Myles on her right shoulder and bolted outside the training arena, leaving the Blood Knights' speechless.
After a minute of tense silence, the Blood Knight near the Commander asked him, "Commander, do you think our Mistress had fallen in love with him? To her knight? To a hybrid? How is that possible?"
The Commander shook his head and said, "I don't know. The Mistress race are known to lust others, even forcing those they deemed worthy to carry their child to mate with them. I've been with Lady of Chains and Whisphered Vows, so I'm confident on my assumption. I wouldn't even be surprised if she doesn't care if I die at all."
"Then…"
The Commander shook his head and said, "I don't know. You don't know. We don't know. That's the Mistress' private affairs. I'm pretty sure that the Lady of Chains and Whisphered Vows is already aware of it. We just have to keep our mouth shut and just forget what we saw."
"How could that be easy to do?"
The Commander glared at him.
He swept his gaze to other Blood Knights and said, "Don't forget who we are and our purpose. We can't just assume and spread rumors, especially when it involves our masters. Whether the Mistress had fallen in love with his knight, or simply is concerned about his well-being doesn't matter to us, doesn't affect us in the slightest…"
The Blood Knights lowered their heads in silence.
The Commander continued, "If I heard about a rumor involving our Mistress circulating around, I will punish everyone. I'm serious. The punishment will be so severe you just wish to kill yourself."
Every Blood Knight shuddered.
They never doubted their Commander's words.
They glanced at each other and straightened their backs, shouting simultaneously, "We understand, Commander!"
"Now back to training!"
"Yes, Commander!!"
…
Nyxara brought Myles to the greatest physician in the city. The physician belonged to the race called Fleshweavers.
They were tall and slim. They had porcelain-pale skin, long silver hair, and four slender arms (two normal and two vestigial surgical arms).
Their black, pupil-less eyes glowed faint teal when he was examining Myles' condition, while Myles was lying in the bed.
His mouth was sewn with decorative soul-thread scars.
After he examined Myles' condition, he utilized his innate demonic arts called Suture of Bound Flesh, allowing him to reweave Myles' shattered bones and seal the bleeding on Myles' forehead immediately.
However, he failed to erase Myles' bruise and apologized for Nyxara with a bow.
Nyxara nodded and said, "It's fine, as long as he's doing fine now."
The physician nodded.
He wanted to ask something but his mouth was sewn. He was curious why a succubus was deeply worried over a hybrid Common Demon, but since Nyxara didn't know sign language, he could only keep his curiosity to himself, watching Nyxara affectionately stare at Myles with worry.
How he wished his interpreter was present at the moment. In fact, he was currently taking a rest when the Mistress suddenly barged in, leaving him no choice but to heal a hybrid.
The physician checked the hybrid once again and bowed to their Mistress, as the latter said, "Yeah, you can take a leave now."
Although he meant if he could return to his office, where it was not far from Myles bed, but since their Mistress seemed to mean he had to give them a private space, he unwillingly left and decided to venture outside.
Once Myles and Nxyara were alone, the latter eased her heart by clutching his hand.
Eventually, Myles woke up and felt his head ache a bit.
He slowly sat up and heard Nyxara calling for his name.
As he was about to ask her, memories flooded in his mind, and he finally understood what happened.
He smiled. So, that was the state of Crimson Guards. No wonder he said he can easily reach the Rank 5 of Aegis but he won't leave long. Who would act like that?
Myles was deeply curious about the Crimson Guard rank of the Aegis. The only knowledge he had about the highest rank was his captain's words, never wishing to become a Crimson Guard because they already accepted their own death.
For Myles, on the contrary, solidifying his rank as a Crimson Guard was actually not in a disadvantageous position for him.
After all, his combat power elevated to a high degree, making each battle in the future, high-risk, high reward.
As long as he had to make sure he wouldn't really die and all his risk was calculated.
Though, it's really addicting to be at death's door.
"Myles!" This time, Nyxara's shout finally reached his consciousness.
He turned around and smiled when he saw the concerned expression on her face.
He said, "Yeah, I'm sorry for making you worry. But, that was worth it, though."
Nyxara rolled her eyes and punched his arm lightly.
Although it was light, it made Myles hold his breath and groaned lightly.
Nyxara didn't apologize and said, "Stop acting."
"I'm not."
Nyxara grumbled. "Really? It's much more painful than what you feel after breaking your hands?"
Myles smiled and instantly replied, "Yes."
Nyxara rolled her eyes again.
In fact, Myles was not lying. After all, he was in the Red Acceptance State when he broke his bones.
But now…
"By the way, I wasn't out for days, right?"
Nyxara shook her head and said, "Not even an hour passed yet."
Myles smiled brightly.
"If that is the case, I can battle the Commander again and again for the rest of the month."
Nyxara was surprised and was then infuriated.
